Installing a stair runner on our staircase was easier than I expected - it literally took me just ONE DAY to do! I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner!
In this video, I'll show you how I sanded and finished our unfinished hardwood stairs, including how I make wood filler less noticeable. You'll also see how I installed the rug pad and rug runner easily and efficiently, with tips on how to achieve professional results.
Our 11-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback is starting to experience some difficulty going up and down the hardwood stairs, so we're hoping the new stair runner will give him more traction and more confidence on the staircase. This DIY stair runner project is for him. :)

Do you have a video showing the installation of the new wood stair treads?
I don't, but I did share most of the process on my Instagram account. Best advice I can impart: work stair by stair. Meaning: demo one stair tread, then replace with a new one. Move onto the next and continue up the stairs. This way, you always have access to your staircase while you're renovating. Hope that helps!
