i’m not sure if it’s an american thing, but i’ve realized that when most american car channels talk about evos, they only talk about the evo 7 upwards. and i just feel like the older evos deserve a LOTTT more attention. but maybe it’s because they’re not legal in america.

This was a good list I would also include Foxbody, DSM, C10, 78-87 G-Body’s, Mini Cooper, Fiat Abarth, and any air-cooled VW owners as well they’ve all been the nicest and coolest ppl I’ve met
I found that the FRS/86/GR86/BRZ community is pretty chill. They all know their cars are slow and don’t care and a lot of them are helpful to new comers.
There are definitely some bad eggs in the subaru community, but I've met so many great people from instagram or car shows because of subarus. Lots of people want to help you and usually have been around these cars for years. So they have lots of good advice
the volvo community is amazing tbh all trying to help each other out when an issue arrises and they are proper car guys that work on their cars

I have a 2021 manual mazda3 and a 1990 Miata. I love the Mazda communities so much, an underdog company that makes neat and unique cars or cars with cool designs and very fun casual driving experiences. my first car was a 2006 mazda3 sedan and that car got me into cars, working on cars, and made me LOVE driving, it was such a fun engaging commuter car, and my 4th gen mazda3 is just leagues ahead of that first gen, I love and appreciate my cars so much. The Mazda lads just wanna have a fun time and appreciate their cars and the brand.

Years ago, I thought the mk4 supra community was one of the best; people wouldn’t bash each-other’s setups, very polite, experienced, and understanding, unlike today.

The reason I got into Subarus is because of how friendly the community it, plus there’s a Subaru for everything too. Overlander builds? Ppl have done em, track cars? A whole bunch. V12 STI? Someone did that 😭😂. Go look at Smeedia, he represents the Subie community pretty well. And when it comes to evo vs sti, evos tend to be a lil snobbier while Subie guys usually say something nice about the evo💀 other than the snobbieness the evo community is pretty chill, I’ve looked at their forums and it’s pretty similar to the Subaru ones.

honda is one of the best n i like the volvo 240/740 really nice cars i would want the honda for endurance races and the volvo for drifting

So, basically, humble people make good car communities. Who knew people don't like it when you act condescending? I actually have an example. There's this UA-camr who builds a green M4 and while he's not the worst guy, you can tell immediately he is full of himself. In a couple of his shorts he says things like "my front splitter is worth more than your entire car," or "you're just jealous I got this car for 20 grand," or "don't waste your time trying to look cool in a Honda Accord." People like this who spend money on used fancy newer European cars are often doing it for clout, because so many other cars hold their value better, and are more reliable. The European cars just had a high sticker price, and maybe some unnecessary features, and that is why alot of people buy them. Always remember, a fancy car is not a substitute for a personality.
I think it’s time for you to start reviewing cars in person so you’ll know what you actually like.
Evo's or volvo's ?
Honda is the only car crew that eats it's own.
They stole our nonrunning Civic from out between an Alfa and an Ae86 Corolla. Amazingly we got it back as the kids didn't strip it but were sitting in the donut shop lot at 2:00 AM and the cops caught them. They actually got it running for us.
You don't really own a Honda Civic, you're just waiting for the right thief.
You can tell the true car nuts by who waves.
The rare older cars have dedicated fans because we know how hard it is to keep them running.
We need each other to get parts and keep knowledge and skills alive.
The Jeep community is tight because they rely on each other out in the middle of nowhere.
Fast cars are always going to be a pissing contest but classic cars it's about nostalgia and the dream of the open road.
