Nicely done Dean. It came out much better than I initially thought it was going to. I'm sure the customer is going to be really happy with that installation.
Yes, i have that head unit, and Love it,,in a 2014 TRD Tacoma off road, fits perfect with the new trim bezel.
Plastic repair! Who knew? Another option/tool in my bag for my personal car install and company truck install both coming up soon. Good job.
I just bought a 95 f150 , and single din was not gonna cut it for. Thank you guys for this how to video.
Yesss... i need to buy this kit for my 92!
Awesome Video. I've been waiting for this video. I seen it on other channels but not this good.
You guys read my mind with this install. I have a 1995 super duty and have wanted to do this for a long time. Thanks Fellas! I am definitely interested in doing this.
95 super duty?
@@BraydenSB they had obs super duty they are the f450 but had a f super duty emblem instead of 450. They had 10 bolt lug nuts not 8
I got to see them working on this, A 1 install guys!! Love your work!
I just got one of thes obs fords. 97 f250hd crew cab short bed 2wd. I discovered it is already wired for a sub and amp behind the rear seat. It has a nasty single din but it works so i wont be replacing it lol. Already have an amp. Im almost there.
Great video. Thanks. I had no idea these kits existed for this truck
Huge improvement. Very nice.
You are a professional sir. Great video!
I couldn't imagine how many of those would have been done in 1993 😲. I used to hate cutting the old box Chevy trucks. Can't believe there are any left uncut I know I'd cut hundreds.
Always fun
Thanks for video. Going to be doing this to my 97
Very interesting to see the plastic repair process. I’m working on my son’s car and all the panel pieces are old and brittle. I’ve been using resin and fiberglass to rebuild and reinforce some of the broken pieces. It works great but takes much longer waiting on the resin to cure.
Thank you for the video will get on mine right away!!
I just bought this for my project '95 F-150. Now, I can add a backup and front camera. Thanks!!!!!
What head unit did you go with? I'm finding things could be very selective. Like I have an Android not an Apple phone, rear view cam is going to be a must, and I'm finding out some of these head units have navigation built in and you got to install a navigational antenna on top of your vehicle which isn't really a problem but I'm not sure I really want to tear into the ceiling of the truck.
This all said what did you pick and what was important to you?
Man that looks great! As always great explanation on the process 👍
Instablaster
Very nice install
Thank you, that was full of good information.
Señor un muy buen trabajo y muy bien explicado muchas gracias
Bro that was like making a piece of art. Getting all that broken plastic to work again looked very challenging. Nice job. My only comment was after all that, you prob could have reused that unattractive fake wood sticker again and cut to size but it looks way better with out it. Great video...thank you.
That was a cool install .
Man thanks for Uploading this Video ..... You should receive a lot of Views 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Dude your an artist.
Saludos paisano!! Good times!!
Thanks for making this video, 96 f350 7.3 crew cab needs this update I also like the screen you chose to install. Curious on a sub box that would work for my truck also.
How'd that go? I'm looking at buying a 97 f350 7.3 and just looking at radio upgrades and everyone does 150's so I'm a little unsure
Great informable video, thank you !
how wow that looks great and i liked the usb port you installed... my1994 F150 cassette deck says tape 100% of the time and the radio doe snot work
Great tip. S thank you very informative
I would Say Probably one of your best Videos ever Short , Very well spoken Execution of every Aspect was Top Notch my hat is off Super Well done. That truck owner now has something Unique to Show off. Be prepared to do some more after this hahahahaha
Thank you
Thanks for the great videos! Do y'all have a video for a double din install in a 98-03 F150/Expedition? I'd like to see your take on it. Thanks
Hi Dean and Fernando I google your address how convenient you have a massage place next door lol
If you see cracks in screw tabs and the pieces are still there, take a small tip soldering iron and fuse what you can together before you start removing. Then you can finish plastic welding or epoxying them on a workbench first, which should allow them to dry/cool long before you need to reinstall them.
A company called Plastex makes plastic repair easy and very durable. I used this on alot of my plastic parts while doing a restoration
DEAN! Your fuckin head kept blurring the focus!!!! I'm just poking fun lol
This video is absolutely great and I love your solutions to the various issues you encountered with this install 👌🏻.
I'm very inspired and motivated thank you 👍🏻
Where did you get that break lights from and thanks for the video I’m ordering my double den now
Very nice
Ok I want this for my 96 diesel. It would be very well loved, I already have a sub in the back, this is my next step forward.
i have a 96 single cab, what size of sub can you fit?
@@anthonymckee5653 that’s gonna be the tricky one. I have extended cab to fit a sub but for single, well if you want to convert your bench seat into 2 buckets with a center console that also doubles as a sub box, it’s gonna be cramped. I could be wrong but I’ve heard of subs being installed in seats before, don’t know if that’s a good idea. Best bet is looking for low profile subs and seeing what fits your dimensions behind the seat or under.
I would love to put this in my 96 F150, but at the same time I want to keep it as stock as possible.
radio is different
Do a single din large screen. Like a Halo 9 or a android alternative
i wish they made one for my 94 town car i was told i could switch some panels around from the junk yard and i could get a double to fit but not sure if it is true
great job...
Hey bud what the biggest screen you can use in this kit? It’s a awesome kit just need to know what fits.
What size screen it hold loving this
I have wanted something like this ever since I got my bronco and I'm glad that it's finally a thing! Now only if I had a way to remove my old pioneer head unit? It came with the truck so I dont have the removal tools
just find out what kind of screws it uses
@@shyferret9924 it doesn't use screws, I was able to remove it with a couple butter knives
Great job... It’s there another brand you can recommend where I can play movies. Thank you
Im really impressed with how good the kit looks
Right, we were also
86 in Clearwater, this must have been back in February 2019 it's been in the 90s over here on the east coast of Florida
and now, just a few years later, there are floating screen headunits, which ive seen in the OBS ford trucks, and they actually look pretty good. theres a chance that im going to get an f250 from the same generation, and there may be a chance that i split the purchase with my brother. even though i will have it more than him, i know he would want it to look as stock as possible, unless it has something useful, like android auto, but i know he wont want to cut any of the interior unless its already damaged, but i dont think that is the case
Please show a Backup camera hookup to this setup , Or is it really easy ( dedicated plug ? ) .
What kind of foam did you use to eliminate the gaps in the fit?
Where did those front seats come from I want them for mine
I would to do this to my 96 f150 except it has to a CD player ability to install a backup camera and bluetooth. Otherwise great video
Any links to the cool elaborate dashes for a 94 f150?
What can I do if my factory radio harness was cut? I’m not sure what plugs I need. I’d like to put the stock harness plugs back in but not sure which ones it came with
I have an F-250 XLT HD. I'd like to install a Double Din unit, as apposed to the motorized units with the moving screen. What is a decent quality unit, that won't break the bank? And where can I get that XLT dash trim kit you used in this video?
Good afternoon, I am from Guyana,South America. I bought a AVH-600EX radio reciever from amazon but when I tried installing it, it cuts off mid setting up every time. Can you give me some potential solution to this problem? The warrantee period would have passed so I can't return it.
Great jobs always guys... I desperately need your help, am looking for a double din kit for a 2000 Jaguar S Type..
Standard Ford kit BkFmk552. That is where it ends. You have to custom mount it into the dash bracket. A short radio like this one would make life easier. It does take a little time to get looking nice but not impossible. We have done 2 or 3
Okay for you guys didn't have all those fancy put deposit back together tools I always use a 5-minute epoxy because it remains a little more flexible and you just have to wait a little while and take your time include those pieces back but don't use the 2-minute to gets too brittle
Nice that came out clean.. I have the pioneer avh 3400nex and saw y'alls videos on it.. mine just messed up somehow and keeps blowing the fuse even just connecting to an outside battery.. Is it indeed that my stereo is fried??? All the connections were really intact..
Something is giving or taking to much volts your new radio might be the problem. Because I remember hooking up just a 12 inch sub ran the wires from under the dash and it would keep blowing my 10 or 15 fuse in my Infiniti it always would pop when i would hook it up every now and then but that was the problem maybe something is too much for it but you know though people put double dins and single dins in all the time in old stuff but sometimes you get a problem what ever it may be for you it aint nothing you cant fix by DIY youtube for a little bit to figure out the short May
GODALMIGHTY&JESUSCHRIST Bless you and yours all the love from Texas-K.
I know this a old comment. But for anyone else having this issue you'll want to make sure no bare wires are touching together or other metal. Also make sure your amps don't exceed the fuse amps. Also check diagrams to make sure your wires aren't crossed. You could have a wire connected wrong especially if you're dealing with a harness that's been cut.
What is the yellow tool you used with the Staples during the install ?
i did this to mine it looks sick , my 30 dollar stereo sucks tho.. Wish i had money for a good stereo
How much would you charge for something like this? I have a 94 Ford F150 I would love this set up
Me gustaría saber si puedes enviarme la dirección para yo ir con mu obs f350 para ponerle este radio
donde puedo conseguir ese adaptador tienes alguna pagina de internet?
I miss the days with the 80s f150s had to put the double knob Pioneer super tuner III in them😂
What seats do you have in your truck?
Dude, I was just in Tampa for the past 7 months. The aftermarket amp in my 2013 f150 died 2 months ago during that record level heat spell. I tried calling your shop for a replacement and nobody answered. Bummed.
*What leather seats are in that truck???*
Where can I find an installer in Los Angeles California
This video is useful only if you had the links to the parts you used as i cant find them
What’s the max sized radio tho
I need help my truck is 88 f150 how i cant doent same work
Lol first step is disconnect the battery cable.
Never in 24 years.
#rebel
16:29 - I see what you did there
No link to the dash kit? 😢
They stopped making that body style in 1996. That truck is not old it is a classic.
yes I had a 1981 model with 2 punch 15s in the slimmest box I could get away with.
@@edud8452 2 15s in a regular cab? Wow.
@@DIYAudioGuy yes I'm very short so the seat was slid forward pretty far all my tall friends hated it.
Where is this kit available?
Yup now I'm looking for something with an exterior screen to make it bigger
Its an off brand here but I used a Joying head unit that moves the screen just outside the dash and allowed me to get an 8" screen in my f350.
@@omegalpha28 I started checking things out and found things like this
www.ebay.com/itm/193179756191?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAAoI%2FdjupZbm3281jRvMEM39J9z8yDfilcRMeQ14ce5rCNepY05I3lEOKeVe4NENPYv%2FnnzOIJUSweRDs3XJqOZrmjnc9%2FANgtP%2FuzkOvje2Cf7JWxHBJCisti9kr3S%2BNASDQDGPaPGbDwiGlSW3DxiYSij6pT3MOrPOJA2rnk%2FurimCv3lxy2ogQasKdtwjsHiB9usVy4I40OlVGU%2BgpEtzc%3D&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=193179756191&targetid=1262931797162&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9032181&poi=&campaignid=12874531603&mkgroupid=121788282146&rlsatarget=pla-1262931797162&abcId=9300535&merchantid=113781615&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5uWGBhCTARIsAL70sLJSprg-ifbaDUtUu89NmqIv3p18LPGvYoqdkVCR91UIHETi9XF0PBsaAkdMEALw_wcB
Now thats a little overboard unless you're doing some major tech upgrades, but its nice to know it could be done
I can't stress this enough... mechanics have to stop using impact drivers on interior components. I have dealt with this stupidity for years in the trucking industry, shops will disassemble a truck, new or old, using power tools and the same for reassembly. They are destroying plastic tabs, and semi truck interior parts are $$$. Good job Dean with the stressing of using screw drivers.
Need to swap the instrument cluster for one with a tac
That kit should also work for a bronco and the f 250 and f 350s of the same year.
They're all the same dash , so yeah...it WILL fit .
how do you get that wood-like trim piece
Try LMC truck
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
You didn't show how you secured the radio
It would be cool if you could paint it the matching gray...
Black looks better as a secondary color.
With that fit a 1990 f150
Pull ashtray and use remote
You cant retain the wood grain
Ford looks very modernized
Downloading instructions suck. I hope they keep printing them out and putting them in the bag.
They do no worries
Do they have for a 1987 to 1982
oh first by the way
Maaaan that kit looks like crap I'm glad I jumped on the obs interiors kit
Car? I thought it was a truck….🤔
I heard very good opinions about the Woodprix plans.
The cheap tool store lol lol
I started with Woodglut plans.
Nooooooo, Those kits look so tacky
