Oddly enough I just got a 1995 F250 today and I was just lookig at this radio on Walmart's website and I was worried with it being a stubby little thing that it wouldn't fit but looks like the high quality Boss for $30 is gonna go in... How is it or did it hold up?
Hey this is really helpful thanks - one thing that wasn't clear for me was how you mounted the single DIN mounting tray - at the end you mentioned using the four spots for putting the rods - but those spots wont be there if you are using the new mounting tray so I assume you used the old tray?
The new radio I used lets you remove the outside bezel where you can access the same holes (it will click into place once the face place is on), the main thing that holds this new radio in is the white bracket that I took off the old radio and retrofitted to the new you can see it on the back of the old radio in the video.
@@ThrownSparksGarage thank you for the reply, I just wanted to make sure that they played good because was not sure if the wire harness still amplified the speakers.
This is the radio I bought, along with the adapter that we used to get it working. My buddy did the wiring with the adapter, I know it wasn't a direct replacement. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CG8N0H8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002BESFU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Metra 70-1770 harness. Don't cut the factory harness. Appreciate the video....

Thanks, I hope this video was helpful!
The stiff wire you use to remove the stereo only goes in about 1 inch.

Have had zero issues with it! Best $30 I’ve spent on this truck!

Hello, I’m looking to replace my oem radio in my 96 and I was wondering how the speakers still played without rca connection?
Speakers have not had any issues since switching to the new radio. Audio is clear with no change in sound quality.
@@ThrownSparksGarage thank you for the reply, I just wanted to make sure that they played good because was not sure if the wire harness still amplified the speakers.
No worries, hope that helped.
Would you have happened to keep the old radio , and does it work?
The original radio did work, but I swapped it out in my dads truck since his was broken.
So I guess I outa take it to a professional to wire it haha, workin on my 97 wanted to put an alpine in it but hell I ain’t no electrician😅
Luckily I had a buddy who is good with wire diagrams, but I’m sure you can find the correct plug adaptor online
@@ThrownSparksGarage about to binge your OBS videos haha. appreciate the help brotha🤙
Where did you buy the harness for the power and everything?
I bought is on Amazon, grabbed the cheapest Bluetooth radio and then looked for an adapter to go from the connection on the back to the truck.
and does it work well with subwoofers
Couldn't tell you as far as that goes. I am running stock speakers in my truck.
