Straightforward and accurate diagnosis. You make it all look very simple 👍 Once again I'm thinking it's probably 50/50 lack of knowledge or lack of accurate wiring diagrams or any diagrams at all by the previous garages that have looked at this that caused their mis diagnosis. I'm fortunate to have excellent factory diagrams to diagnose the Volvo cars I do at work but when another brand vehicle comes in with a similar issue and you have no wiring info it can be a real headache to diagnose the most seemingly simplest faults 🙁
Great video. Can I ask a question /pick your brains. My daughter has a 68 A180cdi . Amber Engine light came on. Local garage said it showed glow plugs, they bench tested them and were faulty. Were replaced . Light Came back on same day. Garage rechecked codes, but nothing was showing. They spoke to Mercedes who said it may need a ‘forced regeneration’ or something. Any ideas/is this possible?? Thanks in advance
Your videos are awesome keep them up!!! Always intresting, always great content and love the strategic way there delivered with great explanations!! Really good to come on the diagnosis route along with you to see where you go next and what route to take and why! 👍
I had a very similar issue with a vito, i was called in after the second or third alternator was fitted, trouble was the parts supplier kept sending out non lin bus alternators which were being fitted as they looked exactly the same as the lin bus versions
I think I could have got that far however as it had already been fitted with a alternator I have started to doubt myself over the linbus not signalling unless certain conditions were met like engine running? Just my lack of experience I guess
I found your channel just recently and i subscribed right away because you have a great videos with a lot of good content and valuable information but pls do something about voice, you speak silently it is hard to hear what you are saying. Thank you for your effort.
No guarantee that new parts are going to be ok.I once bought three new starter motors for my megane rs225,which were a pig to fit, third one worked, first two faulty!!
Brilliant find Gary.
Thank you for sharing.
Kind regards Jay

I’d say the other garage had probably fitted a substandard alternator from factor that’s renowned for selling cheap crap.

I guess I'm quite randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released movies online?
@Archie Kevin try Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)

I bet everyone knows where the "new" alternator came from 🤐
So why would the alternator the other garage fitted not make a difference and fix the problem? Or did they try a second hand unit? Great video again👍

Probably substandard crap from Britain’s biggest motor factor
Probably fitted a cheap recon alternator. Just goes to show because its new don't assume its good.
I'm shocked autodata has a wiring diagram, firstly that's available and secondly thats correct. Autodata is usually 💩
Data systems are like scan tools, no one system is 100% on everything, I use 2 other data systems too.
Great diagnosis
