    Number 10 really is so important. The stakes of Hunt make PvP so daunting, especially to new players, but you genuinely just have to go out there with that Samurai frame of mind: In every fight, you're going to die. Getting past the reservations of losing a Hunter and really throwing yourself into PvP is the only way truly improve in this game.

    These are all great tips, but I was surprised that you didn't mention trigger control at all. Overcoming my tendency to reactively return fire was one of my biggest growths. I used to panic fire a lot, being too scared of being headshot myself to properly line up a shot, but I started focusing on how that was getting me killed a lot because my shots would whif. Now I just take the slightest moment longer to confirm my shot placement on the targets that are throwing lead at me, and I come out victorious way more often because of it.
    A no-brainer for some, but a big lesson for me.

    Personal recommendation: If you are on windows. Open the control panel and open the Mouse properties section and disable enhance mouse precision under the pointer options. When this option is on, mouse acceleration will occur and will alter your mouse speed when you are moving the cursor faster. THIS IS HORRIBLE FOR PRECISION, since the distance your hand has to travel will not be consistent!

    I'd have to add a tip #11 and this can apply to pretty much any game that you're trying to learn, and that's to play with mates that you can rely on. It's much harder to learn and get good at a game when you're queuing in with randos all the time, with a reliable group of friends you can have each other's back, communicate, and from those key things you will afford each other the opportunities to focus on improving your play style without fear of being let down by a rando who decides to run off and play bush goblin while you're left on your own trying to 1v3.

    • @Taeerom
      @Taeerom 3 роки тому +1

      One thing I think I learn (and teach, in a way) a lot of game sense and so on is to talk about why we died when we load out. Just talk it through with a mate to air out what went wrong and cover each others misinterpretations or missed info.
      Did we do the right call, just didn't hit our shots? Should we have known about that ambush? Did we hesitate, or was the hesitation correct? Did one person know something the other needed to know?
      These things are great to talk, and think, about when you have time to jsut go through it. At least it beats just hating yourself for being bad all night.

    • @_DMNO_
      @_DMNO_ 2 роки тому +1

      personally I've found that queuing with random partners helps you learn a lot more about how to lead your team without even giving a verbal order, either on passive objectives or in firefights.
      even though there is little to no communication beyond pings, eventually you begin to know how to control the focus of your teammates.
      if you are the one in front of them, they will follow your lead. you shoot, they shoot. you post up on a rooftop to overwatch a firefight, and you ping them where to flank from.
      sure, its nice to have a group you can entirely rely on after having plenty of experience with them, but being able to lead a team of strangers without speaking a word is much more useful.

    A good tip for aiming on console is use hunter not gunslinger and turn down turning acceleration to 70. Have a really high sensitivity on default sensitivity for melee and dark sight. Then adjust shoulder and ads until you find a good sweet spot for close range and long range gunfights. It’s also more convenient for using melee attacks and melee rushing with guns because trying to hold R3 and turn is quite difficult.

    One in-depth tip for adjusting your sensitivity is to go into training mode, bring a weapon with very little sway, find an exact point on a wall or object, aim at it from about 10~20 meters away, and then walk around randomly in somewhat big movements, trying to keep your aim locked onto that spot.
    If you have trouble keeping it accurately on that spot, your sensitivity is too high. If you cannot keep up, your sensitivity is too low.
    Adjust accordingly until you can comfortably lock that aim on a spot even as you walk around changing directions frequently. Once you've found your ideal sensitivity, ideally you would then get a mouse mat that is wide enough to let you do a 360 with that sensitivity.

    • @keanite2742
      @keanite2742 3 роки тому

      This is such a great post! The only thing I disagree with is the mousepad part. You only need a mousepad that will allow you to rotate 180 degrees, 210 degrees max. The 360 rotation is definitely not needed and you don’t need a super large mousepad for that either. What people need to realize is that resetting your mouse in a fight is completely fine if you have the right tools. I invested in a softer mousepad (Hayate Otsu XSOFT) and a really light mouse (I was previously using the g502 which was way too heavy for FPS games). This allowed me to be able to reset to the point where it’s not noticeable at all during fire fights. Cheers!

  • @nickkyri6143

    I have things to add here.
    First of all, as someone who is trying to get /consistently/ better with aiming, understand and accept that your aim is gonna be fluctuating each day you play, as does your overall performance.
    Another thing that has helped me is controlling my panic during fights. The last tip in this video was practicing your aiming. On top of that, monitor your panic during fights and practice staying calm, win or lose, your goal should be getting better at both things (and having fun). I use diaphragmatic breathing to actively make sure I stay focused and calm.
    This part goes without saying, but with time and experience, you'll grow more confident in your ability, just remember to have fun while you're learning to improve, it's the most important part for your efforts to bear fruit.

    I also think the training mode in this game added about a year ago is very underrated. Most players seem to have only gone a single time to earn blood bonds. But you have a zone of six compounds where you can practice aim, experiment with loadouts, sensitivities, key binds and do anything you want in your own private server world where no one can hurt you.

    Great video as always! I play on xbox and use gunslinger settings (I'm already well aware of the pros and cons) however I've always been curious as to how the hip fire crosshair works? Does the bullet go dead center similar to ADS? Or is it an RNG thing with a chance to go anywhere within the sometimes large crosshair? Obviously shotguns etc. are different due to spread. But I'm not sure how it works exactly with rifles and pistols...

    • @4FSGaming
      @4FSGaming  3 роки тому +3

      So when in hipfire, the bullet can go anywhere within the cross hair area, but it's not completely random, as they seem more likely to land near the center than the edge, so there is some probability involved

I've experienced and witnessed many occasions where taking a shot too early during a shootout because I didnt use a split of a second I had to make sure I'd hit made me lose a fight. It requires strong nerves and confidence during those situations but if you're having trouble aiming during gunfights. Rushing shots isnt going to help. Make sure you hit. It might be the only shot you can and need to take anyways.

    For me point 4 has been my playstyle where in my case it's easier and more doable to double tap the body than one tap the head hitbox. I also am a bigger fan of duel wield than most where I with spread and reduced accuracy my aim doesn't have to be precise anyway but I can dish out twice as many bullets. My friend also swears by lowering sensitivity and I don't disagree. I just hated having to use more space and bigger arm movements and a bigger mouse pad and it just wasn't for me, even if I can't land those killer headshots against moving targets like you did at 3:26.

    My KDA is around 0.6 - after 850+ hours of Hunt. So I can claim to be an expert in the field of bad aiming. I am missing a few very basic things in this otherwise good video: My KDA improved from an initial 0.2 to 0.4 by buying a new monitor and adjusting the graphics settings to constantly reach 60+ fps. So having adequate hardware is an important thing which needs to be mentioned. Improving my KDA from 0.4 to 0.6 was achieved by physically placing my monitor higher because I realised that I was very much struggling with the low placement of the crosshair/iron sights in Hunt and tended to shoot over the opponents head as a result. Having my monitor placed in a position so that my eyes are level with the iron sights did help.
    Now my biggest problem is that I seem to be unable to get my brain to accept that I have to lead my shots =).

    I'm very. Very. Glad you made a video about this. You admit your aim is not the best, but your ability to conceptualize and teach others makes all the difference. Having to teach yourself how to aim gives you so much more insight than just being cracked for years prior to playing Hunt.
    Your aim is a lot better than mine, lol, and I've taken it a step further. I've signed up for an aim training course by Ron "Rambo" Kim. He's kind of the guru at teaching general aiming for FPS. Unfortunately, hunt doesn't fall into the Valorant / overwatch style of aiming / game play, what with the iron sights and such, and bull travel time. So fortunately, I can combine his tips, AND YOUR tips, to really step up my game.
    Appreciate you doing this. Cheers!

    Leading moving targets is the main thing I can't do for shit in this game. The lack of bullet tracers make it really hard to have any idea what you're doing wrong. No idea if I'm under of over leading. The tip of sticking to similar velocity weapons for a while is a good one though I really wish the game had some kind of training range with moving targets.

    4FS, I love you brother and the work you are putting into these videos, but as always your are mixing fact with utter nonsense. As a former competitive CS GO player and a high KD Hunt player, let me correct you on some things:
    1) Very good tip. But also, remember about bullet penetration, weapon effective range (headshot range) weapon dmg falloff, sway, qs penalties and the simple fact that Hunt has a hitbox system that can reduce your dmg to silly values if you don’t hit the head or upper body.
    2) Don’t take up your time. Understand your bullet speed and shoot reactively. Usually when you are too slow, your gun starts swaying, you get nervous and overthink the whole endeavour. Plus people tend to move or swerve in the least expecting moment. Trust your muscle memory and just click.
    3) True. Muzzle velocity is important, but also becomes insignificant at certain ranges. That’s why go back to point 1 and learn the effective range of your weapon.
    4) That is complete and utter NONESENSE. Haven’t you seen Infinity War? ALWAYS aim for the head  Low server tickrate (especially now with the event and all) plus weapon dmg falloff and the crazy hitbox system. It’s the best to aim for the head. I had situations when 5 Dolch body shots, 3 Uppercut shots, 2 Romero shots weren’t enough. A headshot is an instant kill, regardless of weapon (of course, within your weapon range, see point 1). If you miss the head, you will hit the upper body instead - full dmg. Every other body part has such a big dmg reduction that it’s not worth it.
    5) Don’t mess with your sensitivity. Set one that you are happy with and stick with it. Changing your settings often will mess up your muscle memory. You need around 1-2 weeks to adjust to a new setting. Most competitive fps players have a fairly low sens with 400-800 DPI, apart from some exceptions, of course. Aim small = miss small, that’s what you need to remember. Low sens also forces you to maintain proper crosshair placement.
    6) True. When you have good aiming habits you can react and adjust quicker. I suggest using Gunslinger as well. Hunt has a weird crosshair system. You always aim at the lower 2/5 of the screen, not centre like in other shooters. When you use Hunter instead of Gunslinger you have the bad habit of aiming at the ground. Sure, your gun sticks out in some situations, but if you are not a dumbass bush wookie you will be fine and react quicker. Not to mention one less input key.
    7) Agreed. Every shot not taken is a shot missed. Don’t spam though, try to be precise. You can get lucky but in the long run you leave your survival to fate and don’t learn to be better.
    8) That is some complete nonsense, plus you are contradicting yourself here, brother. As you said before, apart from rare instances, there is no rng here. You shoot at where you aim. When you hip fire, the bullets go within the boundaries of your crosshair. If you aim small, you rarely miss you shots. But if you spam away, you will lose a fight in most cases (but sometimes can get lucky).
    9) Drag shooting/flicking works best in this game, because of the sway. When you drag your gun, the sway goes bye bye. You just need to time your clicks properly. Quickscoping doesn’t work, Crytek nerfed a lot of guns so it might work in some cases, in some it might not. Try quickscoping the Nitro and you’ll see what I mean. TLDR: Quickscoping works ONLY with certain guns and is most effective when your ADS speed and Default speeds are different. Also, prediction is big. A target in most cases goes from point A to point B. Learn both, and wait with your crosshair at the finish line. Just remember about the sway.
    10) True.

    Another great hint woud be: LOSE YOUR FEAR TO LOSE! It sounds a bit odd, but getting into fights and shot on something will improve your gameplay for the next round. You need to lose fights to get better and you should not worry about hunt dollars or your "good" char you got skillled up in the last match. get rid of the fear to loose and the field is yours.

    Some commentary, and also a content request, in that order:
    re: filtered view of your skill, think it'd be useful, when you make guides, to include clips where you make mistakes, and clarify what the mistake was, what led you to make the mistake, and depending on the mistake, how NOT to make that mistake, or how to avoid thinking that you have to. When I try to learn to git gud at games, I find that watching content creators' guides often isn't useful - Hunt and Tarkov are especially noticeable in this regard. A huge part of both games is positioning, moving around the map. In a short combat clip, I don't get to see that! Seeing only the good bits shows me some of what I _should_ do, but often none of what I _shouldn't_, and I don't have time to watch 50 hours of streams to analyse every moment of a really good player's play.
    request: shotgun ammo analysis. Your old shotgun video was super useful, but now only looks at a little bit of what shotguns do. I haven't found any good data comparing penny shot, buckshot, and flechette, for instance. Also, one thing I don't think the old video mentioned is how many pellets are in a shot, which is very important knowledge for using flechettes well.

    Unpopular opinion. You should've be aiming for headshots unless you fall under 1 of the 3 below situations.
    1. You are initating the fight.
    2. Your aim is amazing and you always hit headshots.
    3. You are losing the fight and making a desperate attempt to come back.
    It is so much simpler to hit an enemy in the chest and switch to your secondary to finish them when you are on even footing. You will hit the enemy more often and if they miss a single shot you kill them. Headshots are for unaware opponents, people peaking buildings, and when you just got hit by the first bullet of a dolche.

    my golden tip for all games when ure doing your best but start performing badly, rather than keep playing and having a downward spiral of stale shit playing hoping for luck.
    its better to do this:
    taking a short break to refresh your mind or just playing music even on a sound important game like hunt can help your instinct juices take over again.
    reasoning is being too conscious is actually distracting and negative outcomes makes your subconscious distracted by emotion and no longer incentivised and yours expecting failure bringing expectations to reality.
    i think most toxic people who blame others should especially follow this^
    edit: extra tip: try to memorise gun sounds (u can find them also in the main menu ). hear a shot, kill the guy or get killed by him and remember the gun. or hear a shot think the sound 9* out of 10 ure partner will say the gun name.

I have seen players stream and they go like click headshot, click headshot, click headshot and i think guys like these ruin the game since you cannot outplay them.
