I like the extract bait tactic you show at the beginning. I can't stand those long boring boss lair stalemates with neither team making a move and then both saying it's the other one that is "camping".
Hunt showdown needs to find a mechanism to fix this. It's the only game that promotes unending 45 minute campfests because the devs haven't thought it through. There's no incentive for the outside team to push (defenders advantage is a hell of a thing), and all the incentive for the compound/bounty team to push out, but only when 45 minutes have passed and the server is about to time out. I've seen it happen time and time again, I have to wait until the server is on it's last 5 minutes before the team that blocked off every entrance with multiple traps and concertina bombs decides to try to make a break for it. The only one truly camping is the bounty team. To fix this the devs have to create some artificial way of speeding up the game, perhaps once the bounty is banished (as often it's banished early) cut the game time to 10 to 15 minutes.
@@JanO209 The incentive is I don't have the patience to sit there for 45 minutes camping and if I die at least I can move onto another game and still have fun. I do agree though they can do more to get things moving.
@@dave6653 Yeah that's a pretty big incentive, I agree. I find myself pushing now despite the unfavorable situation. However, you're severely decreasing the chances you'll win by doing a forced push. A lot of players, especially new ones, or those who take their kdr/accumulated hunt dollars seriously, or who plainly just like to win at all costs (which is the majority of players on Hunt, this is a try hard community after all, myself included) wont be okay with saying "ah fuck it, lets get this over with". And think about it, the camping bounty players KNOW that you don't want to be sitting there for almost an hour, and they in turn camp even further hoping you get tired and rush in. It's a vicious camp cycle lol. After all, they're happy sitting there with the bounty, they have nothing to gain by pushing you, and everything to lose.
@@JanO209 honestly. with the number of exit per boss room, the wallhack from bounty, the fact u can banish and leave/wait for other team to come in to provoke an engage in ur advantage... you dont necessary need to wait for bounty or even banishing you can retreat and use any step as a bait for another team. if you are stuck in a camp vs camp at the end and dont find the way to get out safely. its because you created this situation.
Extracting with bounty without a fight is frowned upon? Bruh that is an understandable tactic. You got the bounty, you can run the gauntlet or leave. Some just want to make sure they survive AND get the bounty. Nothing to be frowned upon.
one thing i'd add is when to break off, sometimes its best if you lick your wounds and leave, that payout isnt worth it; especially if a team or two is left unaccounted for out in the sticks. had a game where we broke off and chased a different route only for the enemy bounty to team get caught off and deal with a third party, then left the other way, my partners wanted blood but we first wouldnt catch them, and second we're already here, lets just take our current payout and go right back out again.
7:43 I did that once and it worked amazingly. Had a team pushing us at the boss lair and we retreated and did a huge rotation and ended up on the other side, this gave us a chance to surprise the enemy and get the bounty and win
I understand why people dont like Hunter to extract with the bounty by running away but lets be real: they actually play the game as intended. The goal is to extract with the bounty and not having the most kills. It can give you nore cash when you decided to go for example the second bounty or killing hunters and loot cash but this is more of an option. I dont like it either but i dont hate on these people. Also sometimes it might be the last option.
If game mechanics allow it then it’s fair game. No sense for them to be getting pissy about it. Plenty of other fps games out there that let you continuously respawn and feed kills to someone for 25-50 kill streaks. This is not that type of game.
Super good and easy to understand tips as always. I use all of them already and it's known to work. I agree that nothing's more annoying than some losers camping inside boss lair for 20-30min. In my opinion the devs should lower the timer from 60min to 30-40min in order to highly reduce such things. An alternative tactic to this "Extract Bait" is when you play Trio and have the bounty but the team in front of you don't want to come at you cause they have scopes, are chicken or whatever the reason... have ur 2 buddies with the bounty run away while you say in a good position so they'll think you went away with them. As soon as you see them come close enough from you, tell them to come back in position and if they don't check their map at close-range while running, they're gonna get surprised and shot out of their secure position. It works at least half the time I'd say!
A tactic I find that works a lot of the time: running. Just finish collecting your bounty and you’ve got a team approaching? Book it out the other side of the building and head for extraction. Very few people seem to expect it. At lower MMR’s it might even take people a minute or two to realize that you’ve left.
We did tactic nr1 yesterday. Faked going for the exit, then there was a river followed by a ruined house with holes to peek out of. So we crossed the river and waited for them at said house, we had plenty of cover to shoot out of, while the enemies were stuck in the water with 0 cover. The whole thing was like from a picture book.
Bounty Bait is a good idea I'll have to try with my group. More interesting than just bouncing with the bounty although we do enjoy extracting out of spite.
And to follow up. I dove into my first bounty yesterday and I collected the bounty while popping off a team of three. Beginners luck? Maybe. But I'll chalk it up to this Combat Guide.

The "Save me!" tactic is one I actually used and not because of clear headed decision making. These are good tips, but when it comes down to it, in these games the only thing that matters is how good you are at playing an FPS. You can be the most genius master strategist in the history of the Hunt, but if at the moment of crossing bullets, 8 out of 10 shots you miss them, you are finite.
My kdr is 1.81, so nowhere near as good as a lot of content creators, but I use a lot of these tricks myself. I am a big fan of going after the loner who splits up from his group trying to flank, too bad the randos I pair up with are too chickenshit scared to rush in. Airburst has always been hard for me, I panic when it comes to the timing of throwing the nades and usually throw too early or too late. 3k hours into the game I don't think I'll ever get the hang of that if I haven't by now. Wide rotation I'm a big fan of as well, I've been on the receiving end of those and they are good ways to get caught off guard. "Save me" doesn't work with randos LOL. And suppressive fire works only if your team mates have self control. Many times I tell my buddies to keep an enemy busy as I'm flanking with a shotgun, but because they actually tried to kill the enemy rather than just mock engage them long enough for me to push up, they end up getting smoked and now I'm left with my dick in my hand having to push up on three hunters with my shotgun as they're now sprinting away from me, toward my dead team mates bodies to loot/burn. Good video though, other than the airburst, I never really see too many people use these good tactics, but they're good tactics.
I just had a match where me and my partner knew there was another hunter around the boss. We looked couldnt find them. Went ahead and took out the boss then went to hunker down for a minute, closed the doors and such. Then turned back into the boss zone we thought was safe and blam we were dead. The hunter was hiding somewhere inside the boss zone idk. I can never win in this game lol
Or you just extract. I mean the over all target of the game is to extract the bountey, not the pvp. I wouldn't risk the bountey if it isnt absolutly necessary.
The bounty is just there to create a goal for the pvp, people play this game for a range of different reasons, but for most players that have logged a good number of hours it all comes down to the fights, bounty and money become side interests.
@@4FSGaming then it could just as well be a battle royale. The pure PvP is the fast game. At least in my opinion. But for me, having extracted the bountey is a bigger victory than, say, getting 10 kills and going out without anything. Kills are often part of the game and I don't run away from a fight. But you don't have to actively search for it with bountey :). Especially since mostly when I run out so, the remaining teams around it rather shoot each other down than me. This also sucks when others have the bountey, because enough players do not go on them, but on those who pursue the bountey. So they extract then without problems. So, if you are actively looking for the fight, this can work well, you just have to hope that only one other team is left (otherwise it takes forever until they even come after), but there is nothing against it to just go out with it. Find your videos and an explanation but still really great, a subscriber more :)
What's the point of the rewards from a match than to use it to benefit you in the next fight? Experience gained is used for perks that give you slight advantages against players and money is used for better weapons and gear that give you an advantage against players. The only point of these rewards are to help you do better in fights. That's it. You can't retire and buy a house, raise some cattle and start a family
I often feel bad for trying to extract without a fight but it's because I'm only on my 4th prestige and want to actually get hunt dollars instead of scrounging for low-priced loadouts with the few dollars I have. :c
@@TheBrutalFlan Exactly the reason I changed my playstyle from full meta long ammo to shotgun/uppercut.... This way there is at least a slight chance of winning the push
4FS could you please make a custom ammo analysys before it gets to the actual game please. I hope you will because it would be great and it will be most helpful.
You should rename the video to trio tactics. I also play trios from time to time but the real Hunt feeling gets lost somehow. It feels more like a classic team shooter and the dying isn't quite as painful as it is as a duo or solo of course. Dous and solo are much more immersive and and challenging. You win many more rounds as a trio, from my own experience.Unfortunately you hardly find any solo or duo videos on your channel -.-
Only suppressing fire and isolation are geared towards trios, and even in duos they work well, half of this video is duo footage anyway, which is by far my favorite way to play the game. As for solos, I much prefer gaming socially so it's rare I'll play solo unless streaming.
I actually really enjoy pulling out the cqc builds from time to time, but depending on who is in the lobby you have to really, really sweat to take down mosin/dolch users. Rifles make for a much more chill game at any range.
@@botep5529 Mostly because I’m running an old rig from 2014 with a gtx 970! That being said, with everything high, it still runs a consistent 30-45 so I’m actually pretty stoked about that. Of course it may get a little chopping indoors with explosives going off, still playable. I don’t dip below 45 now even with all of the action and indoors on low.
It may infuriate some when a team hauls ass to extraction and doesn't give you a fight, but the objective of the game is to extract with bounty so you can make more money and level up hunters that survive. Can't really fault people for that.
But there's only one point of leveling up hunters and gaining money for better weapons. For fighting. What other use does perks and weapons have than to fight?
It's a viscous circle, the loot you get from "winning" only helps you in pvp fights in future matches., so you might as well just fight in the firstplace and save time
It is a vicious circle, mostly of unknowns. Perhaps the team that ran immediately for extraction were down health bars from a previous engagement and didn't like their chances in another fight, maybe they went in with a free hunter because they're low on money because their skill level isn't as high, and they want to get a better kit to have a chance to compete in a future fight. I'm all for a good old fashioned gunfight, as that's what makes the memorable moments in this great game we play, but there's several reasons why someone would book it for extraction and not give you a fight that you can't really blame them for, but you can't really know, so why get upset about it? It's all about that risk and reward, and perhaps a decision was made by the guys who booked it to extraction that the risk wasn't worth the reward in this instance. It may upset you to not be able to satiate your pvp murder boner every second of the match, but when you say that people should just stand and give you a fight to "save time" what it seems like you're really saying is that people should stand and give you a fight so you can mop them up to save yourself time from having to chase them, which imo, is a pretty selfish point of view.
@@JmannXIII43 it's not like that at all. This is the way I look at it. There really isn't ever anything to lose. Even in the scenarios you described. Only fun to be had by doing the most fun thing in Hunt: fighting and challenging YOURSELF in tough situations. Money doesn't matter. KD doesn't matter. Only fun matters. The fun of the fight. I am quite happy to continue fighting with only one health bar left. Or when I have a free hunter that doesn't have the best loadout. Or if a friend has disconnected. Every fight plays out in a different way, no two fights are the same. This is the beauty of Hunt pvp. This is why we don't care about risk
I respect that opinion, and I mostly agree on a personal level. I like to get into gunfights myself, as like you said, thats where the fun lies, for YOU and for ME and im sure, alot of other people. BUT my point that I've been trying to make is the perspective of the other player. Maybe they don't see it that way. Maybe they feel like money does matter, maybe they feel like there is something to lose, so why bother getting upset or angry at someone for fulfilling the game objective? The fact of the matter is that whoever has the bounty, dictates how the rest of the match is played. Even if you're seeking out gunfights for fun, which I have no problem with, you're still working towards the goal of extracting with bounty. So if the bounty team hauls their little asses off to extraction, fine, whatever. You make chase and try to stop them. The whole point of my argument is based off of what 4FS said in the video, that it annoys or upsets him when people run and don't stand and fight. My point is, why bother getting upset or angry at the other team for doing what the gameplay loop expects you to do. Extract with bounty. It may not be what you want as someone that likes to seek fights, but people will play how they want to play in the moment.

So if you have proof like you said, then post it. Show it to me. Then I will own up to it and admit it 100%. But until you do, you have no right to claim that I've said that. I will not deny that I'm toxic, but I will not stand by and allow someone to say that. You need to show proof before going on and on about it. I want to see it if you can prove it. Go on, do it
These are good tips, but when it comes down to it, in these games the only thing that matters is how good you are at playing an FPS.
You can be the most genius master strategist in the history of the Hunt, but if at the moment of crossing bullets, 8 out of 10 shots you miss them, you are finite.
Amazing Video! Super helpful as well. I'm a PS4 Hunt player, and I've been seeing a lot of people use hive bombs, are they meta right now?
Can you make an updated shotgun mechanics and spread video with the new ammo types?
is there a way to heal burns?
Banish the boss
Another way to repel melee attackers is to lead them to trapped barrels if you can't find a teammate to shoot them
What I really took from this video is Winnie + Spectre compact ;)
Ah yes,the tactic of steel balls.
The way you say pursuit makes me hungry.
Nah bruh. Nvm your desire to fight. If I got the bounty and the distance I’m bouncing to extract.
Why flaregun over fuses?
Speed, range, extinguishes much faster. It's a much more effective tool for when you need to instantly clear pesky AI mid fight.
@@4FSGaming thanks! Didn’t know that it extinguishes faster. Always ran fuses since they seemed more quiet. Thanks
@@4FSGaming it's fair to want more fights and pvp but nobody owes anyone anything in this game. It's not supposed an honorable game.
The only thing that infuriates me is basement campers I've been playing all week and I've had 7 matches go the full 60
Good lord lol I’m too impatient, 30 min rounds max 😂
@@TheBrutalFlan Exactly the reason I changed my playstyle from full meta long ammo to shotgun/uppercut.... This way there is at least a slight chance of winning the push
1:28 Ngl i leave a lot just to spite people; also for the money lol
4FS could you please make a custom ammo analysys before it gets to the actual game please. I hope you will because it would be great and it will be most helpful.
I know i can figure it out on my own but you are more experienced, and you have more tactical point of view
More strategy videos!
this is the real meat & potatoes right here.
The way you say MAHLAY
Good content! I can see you're not a big fan of close range lol
I actually really enjoy pulling out the cqc builds from time to time, but depending on who is in the lobby you have to really, really sweat to take down mosin/dolch users. Rifles make for a much more chill game at any range.
For me so far, the best combat tactic I’ve employed is switching most of my graphics to low.
Do you see better or just have better frames (or both) I have trouble seeing hunters in bushes but it feels like they can see me clear as day
@@botep5529 Mostly because I’m running an old rig from 2014 with a gtx 970! That being said, with everything high, it still runs a consistent 30-45 so I’m actually pretty stoked about that. Of course it may get a little chopping indoors with explosives going off, still playable. I don’t dip below 45 now even with all of the action and indoors on low.
I don’t k ow how. But I survived a crown and king at point blank. He missed all 5
It may infuriate some when a team hauls ass to extraction and doesn't give you a fight, but the objective of the game is to extract with bounty so you can make more money and level up hunters that survive.
Bleeding ammunition at 5min 😉??
Crossbow
next thoim in fucha take cava :)
Your computer must be from nasa that sht barely dips down to 120fps
Having balls of steel, far warning if any of us play together im from the deep south in America im gonna yell "YEE YEE" when we do this just a far waring and thats on any game

"May lay" rather than "mah lay" lol
Half of these are team based, i'm a solo player fuck
I hate people using the first tactic...pls dont do this
Why though
