I honestly don't understand how a human being can listen to such a beautiful singer and show dislike towards him due to the color of his skin, I'm so very fascinated by humans, we have made countless marvelous wonders, we've come a very long way from where we originated
Together, the Teenagers and Frankie were really something very special, and BTW, those saxophone riffs in their fast songs are out of this world. Still great music sixty years later.
Amazing tune 👍the teenagers will always be legendary pioneers of rock n roll R.I.P Frankie Sherman and Joe god bless Herman and jimmy who are still alive 🙏😇

Doo wop from the late 50s early 60s was my mom and dad's era. When I feel melancholy I will blast The Harptones, Moonglows, Paragons, Frankie Lemon n teenagers, Ritchie Valens, Flamingos 🦩 etc, etc. My parents met at a garage party back in 1958 when they were teenybopper 's and married in the early 60s, until their passing dad in 2019 of June and mom in Feb of 2021. My music was from the early 80s to 90s but I love doo wop forever.💯💖
What a beautiful voice, and very charismatic! I remember hearing this song and other songs, always playing on the radio. When my beloved brothers try to sing Doo Wop with their friends and cousins, I just stood there, looking at them. My beloved father always use to come running, and pick me up to buy me ice cream. I tried asking him, what are they doing? He told me they were singing, I'll never forget those hot misty fogy nights... R.I.P. Frankie Lymon. You was also brilliant!

You're not wrong! Very unusual back then in that it was a double-solo on the record, and Jimmy Wright really goes for it, urged on by the great drumming. Also his solo on 'Why Do Fools Fall In Love' has become iconic of the era....Jimmy Wright was under-rated.
Nothing better than the great frankie lymon and the teenagers so many great songs my all time favorite frankie lymon. Rest in peace just classic doo wopp at it's very best
Such a great talent. It was so sad that he died of an overdose of herion. If he could have overcome his demons he would have been an international star!
The SHAME about performers like him, was that managers and record companies arranged housing and travel, but would Steal the creative Rights to what the performers made. Essentially, they ended up living in houses and driving cars they Never Owned; then when the style of music Changed in the late Fifties, he was kicked to the Gutter. Unfortunately, he was one of the Victims of the Entertainment Drug Culture, and of Corporate GREED. The very FIRST thing Black performers needed, was a Good Lawyer to Protect their interests; even Elvis was duped by His manager, "the Colonel".
There is a genre of music I listen to called Korean Pop. And this is exactly how some of the companies treat their artists now. Like there is this big company named SM Entertainment and they never let the artists write their own songs so if they ever leave the company they wont have anything to leave with. And if the artists do write their own songs, the company slaps their name on it just like Levy. And they overwork their artists, and everything they get, it really doesnt belong to them.
Kaya Miller Dang, I have a K-Pop Album and some of Those Groups are really good. Also, don't these Artists know what they are getting into when they go into this Business. A lot of Groups didn't make Bank in the US. Nicole Scherzinger of Eden's Crush and The Pussycat Dolls didn't make anything from those two groups either.
