I agree with you on the Lisa Jewell books. As someone who prefers character-driven books and hates unbelievable plot-twists, her novels tend to work really well for me.
I think I'm gonna send you a Christopher Moore book, a good ole silly one, i love him as a nice breather in between horror and dark romance. Since you liked sewer sharks, it sounds similar to CM's stuff
i love those era of SK mass market paperbacks, with the white on top. they were the editions around when i first got back into reading so theyre very nostalgic for me. needful things with the brown, the stand was red, IT was gray etc...
I absolutely adored Comfort Me With Apples and quickly picked up her novella, The Refrigerator Monologues. It might not be your usual genre, but it is just as well written and has even more amazing commentary on how men treat women.
I just got H.P. Lovecraft's Necronomicon that has his best stuff. Also got Gerald's Game which I haven't read yet but I loved the movie. Hope the book is just as good because Mike Flanagan can do no wrong. Thanks for sharing!
I recently read my first Lisa Jewell book, which was Breaking the Dark, a novel starring the Marvel Comics character Jessica Jones. I enjoyed it, and may check out more Lisa Jewell books. Sewer Sharks sounds right up my alley.
I also read Sacculina last month as well and loved it. I took it on my vacation where I spent a lot of time on a boat. Have you read Frost Bite by Angela Sylvaine? That is a great B horror movie type book.
🌿 Hi Anda, I hope you're feeling happy and healthy😺. I read Thinner when it first came out so I don't remember much about it except... I didn't like it either. I love Stephen King but that just wasn't enjoyable. I'm interested in reading Intercepts, it sounds so creepy!🌿
Far from being original "Intercepts" owes an awful lot to Philip K. Dick's 1965 novel "Minority Report". Empaths...crimes of the future et al. Still a fun read though!
Lisa Jewell writes the most boring and predictable 'thrillers' ever! I also love slow-burns but she doesn't do it well! Bland characters, bad plots and non-existent twists! I will only give her one more shot with None of this is true and if that one is flop she is done for me!
My wife and I dig your spooky book recommendations and vibe with your tastes a lot. Thanks for sharing!
You had me at Gator Jesus… I need to read Sewer Shark ASAP 😂
I’m so glad you enjoyed intercepts! I actually decided to do a re-read after sending it to you and I loved it as much as I did the first time :)
5:42 The synopsis reminds me of the creepypasta about the Russian sleep experiments!
Thinner review was fire. 😆

Your puppy interrupting you is so real lol. Any time I sit down to film anything, it's instantly play time
Can't wait to finish my list so I can move on to your recommendations.
16:53 😂I love the way you're describing it. I read it and loved it

I loved the thinner book and movie. See the movie and I bet you'll change your mind.❤

If you like Fracassi then I highly recommend a child alone with strangers- it is superb! Gothic is also amazing. Great video!

Live stream sounds fun!
Okay okay not horror related but I need to see your reaction to G.M Fairy books cause those are crazy!

WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SWEATER?? I need it!!
You should get into the boulet brothers
Thinner is my least favorite King. I hated it so much

Dang it, I’m never first!

I just call them Romanians! I don't use the g word! It reminds me a bit too much like Thinner in idea.
The proper term would be Roma my dude. Romanians are an entirely different ethnicity
@@emilym.634 Thank you for the correction! I was told something different for a long time!
Just brought home 😅SPELLSHOP 🧪🧙🌿🌱📚🍄
