i got an amazon giftcard and have been obsessively checking youtube every single day waiting for you to upload so I can vicariously shop thru you. Really excited to see your next extreme horror videos cause I'm running out of books lol
I really hope you get into Iain Reid books this year. I need to hear your take on "I'm thinking of ending things". "We spread". And "Foe". all three I think are masterpieces and 100% worth your time. He has slowly become one of my favorite authors
Im so glad you're back, you have the best recs!! Lock every door was also my first riley sager and i really liked it. I think elevation is more psychological horror? If i remember right a lot of it had to do with his inner turmoil over the whole situation
This was a fun video!! About Twin Peaks.. I recommend it! I saw an episode once when I was a child, and it creeped me out.. ever since I have been wanting to watch it, so a few years ago I finally did, and it was great.. It's bizarre, scary, but also really funny.. I have rewatched it already and probably will again.. Hope you have a wonderful year Anda! It's January, so I can still say it right? ;)
I think I know what you mean about What Lies in the Woods. I've not read it but I read a couple of books recently that are fictionalised accounts of real events and they made me feel very uncomfortable. I didn't at all like the authors putting words and deeds onto these real people (some of which would have been really out of character) BUT I enjoyed Ketchum's The Girl Next Door and I'm looking out for Simmons' The Terror so I think it really does depend on the author and, I guess, on the event that it's based on....? Interested to hear more thoughts on this sub-genre
This will be a wierd question but im a totally newbie on "reading journal" fields and your style of remembering the books what u have read inspired me to try to make some notes while reading.. can u please recommend some method for this? What questions are u following in your own journal? Sorry if its a too silly question... i'm totally enjoying watching your videos, its helping me a lot to push myself and read more! :)
Not silly at all. My reading journals just has basic info like book, rating, genre, page number and it asks What did you think of the book? What was the most interesting part? What are you going to take away from this book? And a section for thoughts. Happy reading!
"Venus On The Half Shell" by Kilgore Trout - according to Kurt Vonnegut " one of the most beloved and respected human beings in history..." - is essential reading for all Vonnegut lovers.
I just finished Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates. I feel like she's fantastic at descriptions and at keeping you on the edge of your seat but I didn't feel like it was believable enough for me. I do look forward to reading 'From Below' from her. Have you read that one?
I really enjoyed this vlog however I do wish u had let us know if u really liked them or not. There are a few u did - but not all. So relieved u r feeling better!
Elevation was SO boring to me god. One of the first things I've read in 2020 after I got back into reading and it almost made me stop reading again lmao ☠
I do a breakdown of videos every month on my opinions of every book I read. I also do individual videos throughout the months on specific books. This is just a video showing everything that was read in a year without the repetition of my thoughts on ever one. Reading a few books a year or 100 books a year isn't a brag... it's just what I read... like the title suggests.
Awesome!! I found you in 2023 and you've encouraged me to try to get back into reading! Happy 2024!

YES!! THIS IS THE VIDEO I WAS WAITING FOR
Thank you for your videos.Great recommendations. Blackmouth was an excellent listen from my tractor cab as I cultivated my field.

Just finished The Devil All The Time after your recommendation. Really enjoyed it.
One of my favorite books of all time. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Dark Matter is a fantastic book. Highly recommend it, and quite frankly, anything written by Blake Crouch.

@@AndaKent thank you so much! :) :)
You inspire me to keep reading
"Venus On The Half Shell" by Kilgore Trout - according to Kurt Vonnegut " one of the most beloved and respected human beings in history..." - is essential reading for all Vonnegut lovers.
The novel The Stranger is influenced by the philosophy of existentialism. Camus and Satre were friends.
This is a bad video for me to watch whilst I'm on a (self imposed) book buying ban
Why would you do such a thing to yourself?! (I’ve been on a book buying ban too, since 1st Jan. So naturally I have “accidentally” bought 5 books) 😂
LOL saaame!!
You could use the library
It's so hard to stay away from the bookstore!
The Girl Next Door film is also wrenching but a great adaptation.
Omg Twin Peaks… you should check it out

Yes! From Below has been my favorite so far. Very mild horror but some of the descriptions got under my skin.
Where did you get the CREEPY sign you have on your bookshelf
It was just from the dollar store around halloween.
Guess there’s a few more just added to my to buy list 📚
I really enjoyed this vlog however I do wish u had let us know if u really liked them or not. There are a few u did - but not all. So relieved u r feeling better!
I'll try something new next year. Thanks for letting me know.
@@AndaKent thank u! Really really enjoy ur vlogs!
My favourite Tess Gerritsen books are The Mephisto Club and The Silent Girl
I haven't read either of these! I guess I'll just have to buy more books 😈
Keep waiting to see if you read Scheader’s Chord 😢
I've seen this one around but I haven't read it yet. Is it worth the read?
@@AndaKent I would say so, page turner for me read it in a couple days
I appreciate you taking the time to do this but without your thoughts/opinion on the books you mention, it's a little bit pointless.
Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't sure if it would be redundant since I do my monthly wrap ups but I'll try something new next year.
Yay. ❤
Love Vonnegut
Hooooowwwwwww tf do you read two+ books per week :0
Elevation was SO boring to me god. One of the first things I've read in 2020 after I got back into reading and it almost made me stop reading again lmao ☠
Doesn't help all, not saying weither they are good books or not, bragging rather then enlightening LAME 😞
