I just want to let you know that I was watching this with my cat. Then I paused it, but she looked at me weird and I resumed it and she started making biscuits. So basically this is the highest of compliments.
hahaha. I just read this last week for the first time and I was SO confused as to why it had such a high rating. I don't think my standards are THAT high for books, like I can enjoy something even if it's not top tier literature but I DID NOT like this book at all. I kept waiting for it to get better lol. I need a discussion of the worst books that you've ever read in this style. The struggle to have to put some of them in a high tier because they're not as bad as others would be amazing and also I would hate to have to do that

Hey, awesome video! And I’m not sure if anyone else has commented this already or not, but in “maybe you should talk to someone” the author explains in the beginning that in order to keep confidentiality she has massively changed details about the patients and even mixed a few patients into the same person just to make sure no one will be able to identify them. Just a fun fact which I thought you’d want to know ☺️ I loved that book too, need to read it again actually, it’s been a while!
I really appreciate what you said about the Midnight Library because that was my same experience. Totally get the criticism but also such a special book to me personally.
If you haven’t read Circe yet I highly recommend it. Anyone that has read Song of Achilles absolutely needs to read Circe. It’s a million times better than SOA and actually has great pacing and characterization. I thought SOA was deeply okay and Circe is a 6 star novel for me. I believe the next generation of AP Lit students need to read it.
haven’t read song of achilles (i have it but i kinda don’t want to start it because i didn’t like circe) but circe was just… really boring. no action whatsoever. i really disliked it which was strange because usually i love character driven books, but this book was just genuinely boring and forced
the absolute JUMPSCARE of seeing a colleen hoover book on this list. i did not even consider you and verity existing in the same world fjdhgdfjkhhfdj saving this vid for later for recs, i had an amazing time as always
I love that every time a book came up about which I went You gave that 5 stars?? You ended up putting them in the not 5 stars category so for me, you now have immaculate taste
You’re the first booktuber who I’ve felt like I could genuinely get good recommendations that I’d like. Not that others have bad recs but you consistently talk about books so well without spoiling that I can actually gauge if it’s worth my time.
Omg. We have the same taste in books. Your “I will Never Shut Up About This” is full of books that changed my life. Know My Name is truly my favorite memoir I’ve ever read, it was beautiful while honest and upsetting. I agree, The Midnight Library was so important to me and my mental health. If you like entertaining science fiction, I strongly recommend listening to Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. It’s SO good and wholesome. So happy to have found your channel!
I watched this video at the beginning of the year when I was just getting back into reading after YEARS of never reading for fun, and I've read 8 of the books in this video and added half the rest to my TBR. Saying all that to say your taste in books is elite and I always come to your page if I can't figure out what to read.
When I read short story collections I rate each story separately and then take the average for the whole thing. Unless the vibes are immaculate and I'll just instinctively give it 5 stars like any short stories Karen Russell or Zadie Smith writes lol
i've watched some of your videos now and i just have to say that the speed of the way you talk is scratching something in my adhd brain and i love you for that
Oh my gosh!! I rarely hear the night circus recommended! I STILL (10+ years later) think about the imagery of that book. Loved the story, but that IMAGERY.
Love that you also loved "Especially Hideous" from Her Body and Other Parties; it's an S tier short story for me. Thank you for all the chaotic and fun content; you're quickly becoming a new favorite Booktuber for me.
I love this video so much! We need more people re-evaluating their past reviews or commentary. The free pass due to 2020. Openly discussing the experience of loving a book on social commentary and then changing your views on the book due to more information on the ideology of the author.
You’re soooo right about Malibu Rising!!! I enjoyed it at the time and rated it highly (4 stars), but I couldn’t for the life of me tell you what happened in that book 😭
oh my god i just found ur channel and i have been searching HIGH and low for a booktuber with my taste in books even a LITTLE and somehow we have the EXACT taste in books with memoirs and also fantasy but also contemporary literary fiction i am so pleased

I have never felt more seen after your rating of the hating game bc that's what got me into romance as well and now it's basically all I read and damn, that book doesn't hold up like I thought it would
After having watched basically all the videos on your youtube after finding your tiktok, you convinced me to start reading again and I read 400 pages in 5 hours. Really hopeful that this gets me back into reading consistently!
@@newlynova It's really good to know that that works too. With college classes and grad applications and friends etc, everything can just be so much that I feel like I don't have time to read, which is a lie bc if I can watch youtube I can read lol. I definitely will try the "a few pages a day" thing tho, hopefully I can keep it up for longer
I loved this video. I wanted to chat with you throughout the whole thing. So many books to add to my list. I strongly suggest John Green’s “Anthropocene Reviewed”. It is my always recommend to everyone. He reads it for the audiobook recording so both book and audiobook are so good.
Thank you! I just got back into reading after 10years of not and I’m aggressively reading so much that I feel like I ran out of “good book” to read because the last few I’ve read have been trash but now I have sooooo many books to add to my Want To Read. Love your vibes 🎉
Never added so many books to the top of my tbr so fast. 100% agree with all these comments I love the vibes and how quick and precise your synopsis are that makes me want to read!!!!
I just went through these categories with my 5 star books and it was both a lot of fun and pretty funny how many books I must have loved at some point but are a total emptiness in my mind. This gave me a good list of informed reread plans :)
This is the first video of yours I've ever watched and we have, like, 85% overlap in our reading and it's so exciting to find someone who reads a lot of the same things. I even added a few books to my TBR based on how much we have in common and your recommendations (including The Office of Historical Corrections). But then... at 34 minutes in... I could see Verity in your list of books waiting to be ranked... but you came through. Hahaha. I'm a new subscriber!
This is the first video of yours that I've watched, and wow, you have incredible taste. Gonna have to put all the top tier ones that I don't know yet on my tbr. Thanks for sharing!!
i read tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow in february of this year and i immediately knew it would be my favorite of the year (and also in the running for all time) and it was in FEBRUARY!! like im doing a book bracket and i already know shes gonna win might reread it in december to feel something tbh
Thank you for liking and letting others like The Midnight Library. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it inspired me in many ways, but reading online, there's only hate about it.
by the way i read “tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow” because of you and good lord it was so good. was skeptical bc it isn’t something i normally read but it absolutely lived up to my expectations so thank you for that ❤❤❤
We are truly book soulmates - so many of these books are ones I’ve rated at or around 5 stars! Into thin air is so highly underrated because people know him for into the wild, and it is one of my “I will never stop talking about this” books.
This randomly ended up in my reccomended but I've now thoroughly padded put my memoir to read section thanks to this video! Absolutely subscribed Ur energy is impeccable
I LOVE your “categorizing” videos! I ranked my books read this year by your mid-year update guidelines for fun and I’ll probably do the same now for my five star reads😂
I absolutely loveee The percy jackson series, and I completely agree. 10/10 for the overall and Its a fantastic read. I do not like the luke annabeth bs. it is horrendeous and annabeth is not given enough credit for the grooming and trauma. My fav are the second series (its called Heroes of Olympus if you do not know, also if you end up reading it you have to power through the first book the rest are 10/10). Percy is peak book boyfriend.
@@ellealine4159I agree that he saw her as a sister, but I think he knew she had a crush on him and played into it just enough to encourage her crush so he could manipulate her with it. Even before he was siding w Kronos, bc he needed someone who wouldn’t leave him
I haven't read all of these books, but this tier list more accurately reflects my opinions/taste than any other I've seen, so I'll definitely have to add some of these top books to my tbr.
This video inspired me to finally start my own booktube. Thank you so much for being who you are and for being a shining light across my UA-cam recommended page!!
You’ve become my “I will never shut up about this” booktuber, thanks for existing

@@newlynova It's really good to know that that works too. With college classes and grad applications and friends etc, everything can just be so much that I feel like I don't have time to read, which is a lie bc if I can watch youtube I can read lol. I definitely will try the "a few pages a day" thing tho, hopefully I can keep it up for longer
absolutely love all your content. it brings me and many others so much joy, never stop posting lexi! truly a godsend for my reading slump brain 🫶
I love the way you do your videos. It’s my fave and I look to you for my next reads.
I've started reading tomorrow x3 on your rec, thank you! This was a great video
i hope you love it!!!! what i would GIVE to read that book for the first time again
Never added so many books to the top of my tbr so fast. 100% agree with all these comments I love the vibes and how quick and precise your synopsis are that makes me want to read!!!!
this is exactly what I needed today
I just went through these categories with my 5 star books and it was both a lot of fun and pretty funny how many books I must have loved at some point but are a total emptiness in my mind. This gave me a good list of informed reread plans :)
This is my comfort watch. I think I’ve watched it at least 8 times
“My modern era of being a bitch” is so relatable lol😂❤
I was like “this is so good why have i never seen this booktuber” and i just found out you started 4 months ago!! congratulations!
You and mike’s mic are my two favorite UA-camrs rn
The moment you moved Educated into its category, I followed instantly. 💚
anything you ever talk about goes straight onto my tbr and I will never stop telling everyone about u ur my fav 😌
me pausing a college essay to watch this because i need more books for my too long TBR list
This is the first video of yours that I've watched, and wow, you have incredible taste. Gonna have to put all the top tier ones that I don't know yet on my tbr. Thanks for sharing!!
Just finished office of historical corrections and every single story ate! Thank you so much for the rec!
You are probably my favourite youtuber and book tuber who is at the same age as me. This somehow makes many things so much relatable
you're literally one of my favorite people at this point and I could just listen to you talk about books all day
i read tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow in february of this year and i immediately knew it would be my favorite of the year (and also in the running for all time) and it was in FEBRUARY!! like im doing a book bracket and i already know shes gonna win
might reread it in december to feel something tbh
i’m so happy that this video randomly showed up on my recos!! NOW I CANT STOP BINGING YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you for liking and letting others like The Midnight Library. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it inspired me in many ways, but reading online, there's only hate about it.
Thanks for adding a bunch of books onto my TBR pile in a single swoop. =)
by the way i read “tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow” because of you and good lord it was so good. was skeptical bc it isn’t something i normally read but it absolutely lived up to my expectations so thank you for that ❤❤❤
We are truly book soulmates - so many of these books are ones I’ve rated at or around 5 stars! Into thin air is so highly underrated because people know him for into the wild, and it is one of my “I will never stop talking about this” books.
i really love hearing your opinions. you've drastically inflated my tbr list because i want to compare my own opinions to yours
I do not accept this interpretation. Luke loved her like a sister. A sister, you hear me?! A SISTER.
@@ellealine4159I agree that he saw her as a sister, but I think he knew she had a crush on him and played into it just enough to encourage her crush so he could manipulate her with it. Even before he was siding w Kronos, bc he needed someone who wouldn’t leave him
The eyeliner, the Micarah Tewers vibes, everything, new sub, no notes
I haven't read all of these books, but this tier list more accurately reflects my opinions/taste than any other I've seen, so I'll definitely have to add some of these top books to my tbr.
im in love with your channel it is singlehandedly carrying me through my senior year + college applications thank you so much
literally same 😭 i have no idea what i’m doing and i still have to take the SAT. there’s so much to do
@@lilacfields it is so stressful !! if you need support or a friend let me know !!
This video inspired me to finally start my own booktube. Thank you so much for being who you are and for being a shining light across my UA-cam recommended page!!
