I loved We Used to Live Here!! There are layers and layers to that damn book. The author also said he doesn’t expect people to crack some of the cyphers for a few years😮. I think I read somewhere that there are going to be 1 or 2 more books.
Oh my gosh l would love this to be a series, it could work! I didn't even pick up the morse code until a quarter of the way through so had to go back and decipher them
@@sdruss83 Sorry. The Shining. It was a very brief shot (literally one second) during Shelley Duvall's terrified retreat through the hotel after her husband loses his shit.
Another great video! You are always well informed and entertained. In short... I like Anda's videos. It's always a highlight when a new video appears! 👍 Small highlight in this... 7:15
feel so affirmed for being between day of the door and violent faculties last time i was at powells and going with violent faculties, excited to start it!! happy autumn!!
Loved your assessment of Home is Where The Bodies Are. I also enjoy reading about addiction from the affected family member's perspective because I also have a family member with addiction. I just notice that when most authors write about addiction, the backstory is always an accident that led to opioid abuse. For once, I'd love to read about people who actually got into drugs because of their trauma and/or untreated mental health issues because that's what happened to my family member and I think it's just as common as people who accidentally get hooked due to prescription drugs. I sometimes wonder if they choose that route because it makes the person seem more sympathetic or because those are the kinds of people who have a more likely possibility of becoming sober if they choose treatment. But anyways, great video as always!
I thought the same thing about Horror Movie! It definitely was a FU to Hollywood imo. Love him or hate him, Paul Tremblay is not a stupid man, and you can see how meticulous, how scientific he is, in his books. For this reason, I didn't mind this book (it wasn't my favorite of his though).
I am literally almost done with Violent Faculties... you're right it is a bit hard to understand, but the first abduction of Emily " How much space a human inhabits " had my jaw to the floor. I wasn't sure what I was expecting..lol definitely worth a read!!!!
Can you make a video on dean kootz for beginners or ranking what you have read? I want to read him but idk where to start… I bought Ashley bell today so hopefully it’s good
Omg your cat is sassy i love it lol mine's a butt and yells while I'm trying to record lol Also I'm reading Universal Harvester and I've been very nostalgic about VHS tapes.
hello Anda!!!!!!!!! I read The Babysitter Lives. It was pretty good!! I was very scared at one point when the fabric of reality kind of melted away for the protagonist. Also, I'm reading Tommyknockers :) It's very long...
l picked up the Darcy Coates book this weekend. Im in the l love Home is Where the Bodies Are camp, but l know a few who didn't enjoy it but l don't think they were expecting a family drama. We Used To Live Here hands down one of my favourite reads this year. First Lie Wins and Horror Movie l have ordered so will hopefully get them soon!
I maybe alone but I thought Horror Story was genius. Such a weird book, but do get other people’s comments. I couldn’t escape the book while reading it, the journey consumed me. Really enjoyed.
First - Love the shirt!! Second - Not that you are at a loss when it comes what to read next. And I know you have talked about Palahniuk and your appreciation of him earlier in your life. But I was just wondering if you have had a chance to read Haunted or Rant. Both have that Chucky P acerbic wit and satire that bites like a rabid Pitbull. I think both are worth your time. But, if I had to pick one as a favorite, I would pick Rant. I like the non-linear story telling and how the story unfolds by "first hand accounts". It took a few pages to get the gist of it at first; but then I really got into it and enjoyed the ride. Haunted is a different level of madness. With no punches pulled when it comes to some of the grotesque\perverse-verses that only someone like him could write.
I have read Susan Hill's The Mist in the Mirror, BTW, the television film of The Woman in Black from 1989 is really good. I am currently reading The Vampire of Portsmouth by Otto Redman at the moment.
I felt the same way about The Day of the Door. It was an interesting idea but every now and then there were certain aspects that really took me out of the story. (Even something as silly as character names.) But overall it wasn't enough to make it unenjoyable.
I just found out your channel and I love every single video, I swear I add almost every book that you recommend to my to read list. Anyway, have you read Brother by Ania Ahlborn?
I listened to We Used to Live Here on Audible and it deeeefinitely didn’t go the route I thought it would, but I’m not mad about it. It was weird and had a lot of twists and turns so I also got kinda lost halfway through but it was intriguing enough that I wanted to keep going to see wtf was happening 😂
I recently read the woman in black as well and I really loved it! It was the perfect read for spooky time IMO.

OMG, I love your shirt. I was 14 when I first saw that movie and that 1 second shot sent chills up my spine. I'll never forget it.
What movie is it?

At first I thought I was going to DNF Horror Movie but the I read the more I liked it. I ended up loving it, it was so creepy at the end!😊

I finally started a Robert Malphi book this month. Need to actually read more of it (I wish I read as fast as I used to as a teen).

I DNF’d Horror Movie. I read up on spoilers and I’m glad I didn’t continue it. I do want to try Head Full of Ghosts by him though.
Read the butcher boy this month, very disturbing and sad but francie was very compelling and well written

I love Physical books as well because of the aesthetics of it, but I also like the Kindle because it’s cheaper I like anything cheaper

Have you ever read Rant by chuck palahniuk??
Will you read extreme horror books soon again? :)
I thought Horror Movie was mostly boring, with very few redeeming qualities.
I kinda hate you. My TBR is already too long and now it's even longer 😭
