What I admire about Led Zeppelin's live performances is that they're completely unique, you'll never hear the same way twice. They changed the key from the studio version, add a verse, add a guitar solo, change the instrumentation, etc. It made their performances more special. I love it.
They changed the song's key (1 step higher) because they also changed the tuning Jimmy uses on guitar (studio version is on Open F tuning, live versions were on Open G). They changed the tuning for convenience's sake as That's The Way, the song preceding Bron-Y-Aur Stomp in the 1975 Earls Court setlist, was also in Open G. In the 1977 tour they took out That's The Way and replaced it with Black Country Woman, which was also in Open G.
He talks about Bert Jansch as his favorite recorded tone. He used the same rca compressor limiters. He always took mental notes as a session player so when he had his chance he was the architect of the sound.

Show me at least one musician at these days who can make show like this. Pure talents. Jimmy - phenomenal guitarist Robert - amazing voice John Bonham - one of the best drummers (rock'n'roll) John Paul Jones- great bass player. I'm 28 and I listen to this legendary band almost everyday. Enjoy music 😎
Reducing JPJ to "great bass player" is like saying Michaelangelo did that cool sculpture that one time. My man is a virtuoso of anything with strings or keys.
Bron Yr Aur (breast of gold). I have driven past Bron Yr Aur many times over the years. As have many thousands and thousands of people without realising it. Just outside of the town of Machynlleth in North Wales. Historically important as the site of the first ever Senedd (Welsh parliament) under Welsh Prince, Owain Glyndwr. Bron Yr Aur is set in beautiful surroundings. A place where Plant would holiday with his family as a child, and seek refuge from the stresses of touring later on in life. It must have been a source of great inspiration.
The best voice of all time and lyrical genius. The best drummer ever, the best guitarist ever, the best bass and other instruments player. Should I say more.
Such an awesome performance :-) Definitely the most versatile Rock band of all time! Very few bands can cover so many different emotional soundscapes (folk acoustic, blues, hard rock) as successfully as Zeppelin does. Thanks guys!!

Ah all the good times we had
I sang love songs so glad
Always smiling, never sad, so fine
As we walk down the country lanes
I'll be singing a song
Hear me calling your name
Hear the wind within the trees
Telling mother nature about you and me
Well if the sun shines so bright
Or on our way it's darkest night
The road we choose is always right, so fine
Ah can your love be so strong
When so many loves go wrong
Will our love go on and on
My, my, la de la, come on now it ain't too far
Tell your friends all around the world
Ain't no companion like a blue eyed merle
Come on now well let me tell you
What you're missing, missing, around them brick walls
So of one thing I am sure, it's a friendship so pure
Angels singing all around my door, so fine
Yeah, ain't but one thing to do spend my natural life with you
You're the finest dog I knew, so fine
When you're old and your eyes are dim
There ain't no old shep gonna happen again
We'll still go walking down country lanes
I'll sing the same old songs, hear me call your name

In 1975 Led Zeppelin was introducing rarely played songs like this one, on the setlist.
WOW, ... Sounds so GOOD !!! Thank you Led Zeppelin, thank you gentlemen, ... from a little girl from South Dakota ..
Led Zeppelin pattented the hard rock "Accoustic Set" paving the way for rock bands in the 80's & 90's. if i could go back in time, this would be it
Ce groupe est tellement une légende et ce duo Robert et Jimmy c'est juste incroyable 🙏
Jimmy is amazing! zeppelin was put on earth to show how music can be enjoyed forever! Best band by far in the Galaxy we live in,
Show me at least one musician at these days who can make show like this.
Pure talents.
Jimmy - phenomenal guitarist
Robert - amazing voice
John Bonham - one of the best drummers (rock'n'roll)
John Paul Jones- great bass player.
I'm 28 and I listen to this legendary band almost everyday. Enjoy music 😎
And his no quarter is awesome
Reducing JPJ to "great bass player" is like saying Michaelangelo did that cool sculpture that one time. My man is a virtuoso of anything with strings or keys.
I’ll 2nd that, I will always worship page but JPJ is probably the most talented out of them all!
no words for how good this is
Bron Yr Aur (breast of gold).
Best part of this , No freakin 'Auto-tune", everything is pure.
i fucking love this song, the whole album is amazing.
They always put 110% into what they did! Each song is an in depth experience!
JPJ straight killing that bass!
Jimmy is STILL the man!
Talent like this is what makes music so much fun.
Feel the joy!
I can't express how much i love this song and Led Zeppelin rock on
A legendary performance by musical geniuses. ♥️
I like Jimmy's movements, regards, smiles, head movements. And this solo, my God !
I never get tired of listening to this live version of the song
JPJ…
The master. Sitting back and being the backbone.
Fuggin excellent!
Wish I had been born 40 years earlier to be there and feel the Zep-magic
The Earl's Court section of the live DVD is so hypnotic. I could watch this and In My Time of Dying all day long.
IMTOD on EC is a tour de force. never gets old.
Wish they would have done this in their 2007 concert.
Wish they would have done this in their 2007 concert.
one of the best live performances I have ever seen
Such an awesome performance :-) Definitely the most versatile Rock band of all time! Very few bands can cover so many different emotional soundscapes (folk acoustic, blues, hard rock) as successfully as Zeppelin does. Thanks guys!!
So true... I just watched their Danmarks Radio performance of "How Many More Times" and it's like a totally different band!
You might be interested in an...off-beat band (to say the least) called King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard. They got everything from funk/psychedelic to Bluegrass rock

Zeppelin Country: This and Hot Dog and many more
Lots of blues

@@guytennant342 Yes. But they have not that kind of magic
Thats only what I feel
"They' for me are the Stones.
The greatest Accoustic guitar solo ever👍
Love these close ups! Love Led Zeppelin!
