I always love hearing Lumi's takes. I don't always agree with him but he has a fresh perspective that gives me a bit more perspective myself on the franchise as well as just is nice and respectful about how he words his dissents or possibly off the wall takes. Plus he bounces off others' points really well

Last time I listened to the bird keeper Toby episode, February 24th, I had to take a shuttle bus making me take over 2 hours to get home from school. Which makes the episode more memorable.

When I look at Munkidori and Okidogi, I see a catoon trope of brainy evil mastermind and his brawny but dumb henchman.
Bravo! I think this was you guys's best episode, and it felt like you guys were having a passionate discussion about where Pokemon is going and what you each feel it could do to improved!
I agree with lumineuse and Toby in the sense that I feel like gamefreak while trying to be ambitious, are just stretching themselves too thin and it would be better if they all just worked on a singular game and had a more competent Studio develop the other projects.
We shouldn't be having to gamefreak teams work on separate games when we could have someone like Namco Bandai make a game while having one of the Game Freak while having somebody a game for oversee their progress and the main game freak team can just work on the core generational title
I think the Loyal Trio won't be Poison. The Ability's name reminds me of Dhelmise's Steelworker.
They could be Ice (Munkidori) > Flying (Fezandipiti) > Figthing (Okidogi) > Ice again.
Cool to see more Poison legendaries, the only one we got was Eternatus.
I still believe Kitakami to be in Paldea, like the Sevii Islands are in Kanto and Battle Zone in Sinnoh.
I think we'll get regional evolutions for Gligar and Aipom based of their beta designs.
Suicune is the leader, rain was the most recent phenomena before revival.
I still believe the Paradox Johto Beasts o fwere living fossils who inhabited Unown's Ruins of Alph.
Therefore the Suicune connection. Ho-Oh removed their Dragon Type upon ressurection.
Tera Types and Delta Species to me always correlated to Hidden Power.
I hope we see the 5th Musketeer in Legends Kyurem, the one that started the fire, a new Enamorus.
It links to the 5 elementals of chinese mythology - Metal, Earth, Wood, Water & Fire.
Sylphs being Air Faes is the reason why LGPE has portraits of the Birds.
Speaking of Birds, the Galarian ones feel like intended Paradoxes given their unique Dex Entries.
Calyrex's Steeds is obviously a hint at the Origin Form for the equine SpaceTime duo.
Hisuian Typhlosion is a merge of his TCG Delta Species and its Gen 2 Shiny.
This new trailer genuinly caught me by surprise. I was so confident we would not see any Pokemon related news, so much in fact I even said it would be stupid to expect it. Well, guess who the joke is on right now :D

Also, just wanna throw this out there, but pretty sure “Cyrano” is pronounced “SIH-ruh-noh” (like the story of Cyrano de Bergerac based on the real person of the same name). Though I suppose nothing’s official until they say it out loud lol

We should be looking at the transfer Pokémon for hints. In SwSh we got the Kanto starters (new Gmax), Swords of Justice (Keldeo), Gen 5 and 7 legendaries (Calyrex fusion).
Why did we get the Kanto birds specifically with their Galar forms? Hoenn box legendaries but no sub legendaries?
Generation 10 is gonna be super huge. I am super excited to see all of the new Pokemon and to do all of the new challenges that are to come. This may be the biggest Pokemon game ever made in my opinion due to the new Switch coming. I really hope for more animal and ghost and ocean creatures. Italy China Russia India and Australia would work for me.
Obvioulsy, gen 10 isn't gonna be Russia.
I don't want Italy (Another European region).
Politically, China might not be a good choice.

I feel like fixing level scaling is the next big step for pokemon, if they want to keep moving towards open world then they need to make it so we can actually explore freely. And yes, I need to be able to jump into the game. Like Gen 1 just lets you play, and that was so nice.

The 2d sprite for a 3d map would be dope but not for a main series next gen pokemon maybe a remake or a second part or extension of the newest gen

Im with Tobi on this - Okidogi, fezendipity and munkidori will definetly NOT be poison type. Recently we have had pokemon with abilities that fot their theme or lore rather than the type itself. Examples that come to mind are Overqwil who still gets access to swift swim despite not being water and Brambleghast with wind rider which fots it's origin being a tumbleweed. What I'm theorizing currently is that Ogerpon is Grass/Fairy and the loyal pokemon trio have types that are weak to either grass or fairy so they had to use the toxic chain to defeat Ogerpon. Initially thought Ogerpon could be poison type but with soul mentioning one version of momotarou story has the companions beat oni with poison makes me believe Ogerpon isn't poison as well.
If they do end up being poison types, Iys understandable but very boring.
I was thinking the same. It makes no sense to make them Poison-type with their ability.

How does that not make sense? Every poison touch pokemon is poison type as well. That literally makes sense
i have a little mini theory here. so the title of the indigo disk functions as a double entendre of sorts as it could be referring to terapagos or blueberry academy, so what if the teal mask also works like that referring to the mask and something else. this like just came to mind so i haven’t really had a chance to think about what that could be.
it could be something stupid like ogerpons mask and the oni mask at the festival idk
Have you ever done an episode where you do a deep dive or talk about the Pokemon designers? I think that would be an interesting episode because I barely see anyone talk about them other than Ken Sugimori and James Turner. They have all sorts of artists with unique portfolios and I don't see anyone talk about them. It's a little depressing.

The issue with Pokémon's game structure is Legendaries... You don't have stories that revolve solely around the legendaries until gen 3. After that the games become less personalized and more of a checklist of events to get through the Character's arc with the legendary. Take the legendary out of the story's structure, give the evil team more general motivations, and build a game based on beating gyms, contests, tournaments, and general exploration. There can be a story, but it shouldn't be dependant on your attachment to a specific Pokémon or character.
I can see The Loyal Three being part Fighting type?

Maybe Ogrepon is part Fairy, giving it the advantage. So they have to use Toxic Chain to defeat it!
I’d really enjoy a game that has the openness of SV but mechanics and crafting of legends. Also something that we could use our Pokémon like tools too keep our character warm or cool like zelda.
You guys have got to fet toby on again. After the next trailer you guys can talk about that and the reception to toby and lumi's videos
If there was a legends johto game I think it would be cool if Lugia and Ho-oh got new forms and if these forms had design elements somehow tied to the golden aura Ho-oh from the anime and shadow Lugia.
In Gen 7 Kanto pokemon got the Alolan formes. Than came Let's Go. In Gen 8 they didn't give Gen 4 pokemon much attention - than came Legends. Maybe they only spotlight the pokemon when a minor remake comes and hide when it's a big release.
I want gen 10 but after that I want to go back to the older regions and have there be a time skip what do newer pokemon look like in older regions how has the dynamic changed because of all these newer pokemon

The kingdom was destroyed by Ho-oh and we have Walking Wake Paradox Suicune which Ho-oh potentially revives into modern Suicune

I'm just thinking that we will be given all three starters for this part of the journey. Form the Poison Chain and trap Oni inside it's radius. Chain = loyalty = all three guys fighting with probably one more evolution stage each or a Power Ranger masked Megazord animal combination of them all. Plus let's top the Fusion concept in Pokemon
I am 180 on Toby's thoughts of New Pokémon Snap,
yet despite that, I agree that it's amazing XD
I think that the artstyle is awful and a poor match for Pokémon (and I'm actually annoyed it seems to be leaking over into the main series lol), and the way it looks made me see it as a no-question skip leading up to its release, but when I saw someone play it on release day for 15 minutes, I was sold and got it the next day, then proceeded to play it constantly for the next weeks/months until I hit 160 hours.
It's IMO a must-experience for anyone that strongly likes Pokémon, especially the creatures themselves;
because what New Snap does is make them feel more alive than they EVER have.

Gen 10 going have different forms changed for some pokemon you can ride on fly on swim on because each langend pokemon has a thing that go on to the next one

I personally think ogrepon is fairy/dark type and the grass is just a red hairing he may just get a grass boosted ability tbh
flying poison and dark poison fighting poison there my picks and the ogre Pokémon will be grass and dark type and the turtle pokemon will be Water dragon type

Legends Mew is such a cool idea. We could explore where it cam from and learn new mysteries and lore. Maybe theres like a natural version of mewtwo or Mew evolution that weve never seen before lol
Idk if I'd want a Evo for mew or mewtwo but I'd like to see the other johto startes get love. And maybe some more lore surrounding the unkowns and maybe get them some sort of primal evo to make them useful.

What do you guys think about the dlcs being time travel places. You guys metuoned it a little bit that the teal mask had husi refrences. The indigo disc is futuristic. It could be possible. Some one gets the time machine working again and you go to the indigo plateau in the future, the time they go to the indigo plateau in the future is flooded with water. Kinda like what happend to the area under oaks lab. And the teal mask is the past connecting husi to jahto.
As cool as that sounds they also refer to Kitakami is a school field trip of sorts and Blueberry Academy is habing an exchange program meaning your entire school is aware of it so it being a Time Machine thing would be kinda funky

Terapagos’s regular type wont be anything special, it is the source of terastalization, so it’s type gimmick will be related to that.
-It will be able to choose it’s tera type at will
-it will always have the best tera type available against the current opponent (akin to Legends plate)
-it can have dual tera types

I think toby might be right about the next legands remake, and even though i want the legendary best in the dlc i dont think we are geting them until legends. In legands arcues. The three starters are Rowlett Oshawa and cindaquill
Thats showing one of these three reagions are next, then they relase a parodox suicue. And version. Another indacator that we are getting one legands game or they will do two at one time.
Well here is a rather good idea what if instead of a remake of black and white but we would get another sequel instead

The only thing I disagree with BIG TIME, is Cyrano being evil. Everyone and their mother thought Clavell was going to be evil and they were completely wrong. I think one of the kids is the one that will be "evil".

unfortunately i'm still underwhelmed by the trailer haha mostly because the areas look very samey compared to what we have versus how unique and fresh the isle of armor and crown tundra were
The spaces in legends arceus was the worse part those loading screens and how you had to travel bacc to the hometown jus to fast travel to another was horrrible legends did so good other than that part and the lack of online play i. Hated the load screen i wanted a huge map all they needa do is give us reasons to go bacc and fill it with more lore other than that i love the new open world its perfect they can make it even better the load screens are trash i. Legend arceus the fast travel was horrible

People exist who hate Legends and love BDSP, I'm one of them. Legends and Let's go were absolute trash tier to me and I only.played lege da to get Arceus. I would be satisfied if they never released another legends game if they kept them what they were for Arceus, at the end of the day BDSP atleast had more to do after you beat the story then PLA or LGPE and that cannot be argued against...
