This current era is a clown show; players are allowed to carry, travel, and charge without consequence. They have no mid-range games, post games, or defensive prowess, particularly Lebron. They missed games from numerous injuries and never play 82, even though there is no wear and tear on their bodies from playing defense, which they don't.
Regarding your glorifying someone with no bag and SIX finals losses, it defies common sense. Competition mandates a winner, which completely disqualifies Lebron. The NBA removed all defensive rules to allow this bum to take four and five steps to the hole unfettered. In the 90s, he would be toast the first time he charged into the lane.
    This bum isn't top 20.

Great reaction youngster. Imagine watching this in person? I was able to witness MJ in the flesh a few times at that old LA Sports Arena vs Clippers, and what my 20/20 vision saw was like nothing it had seen before or after. I've bled purple & gold since Magic's rookie season but without hesitation I proclaim MJ to be the GOAT. And in my opinion it's not even close. That wasn't a push off. Mike was strong but not that strong where he can push aside a 230 lb. man with his off-hand. On the play before MJ drove hard-right for a layup and Russ thought he was going to do the same but MJ stopped on a dime. Only thing that took Bryon's ankles was Mr. Momentum.

This video would definitely make you think of today. All I’m looking for is to see if Lebron actually wins this year (Finals). Here’s how goofy people are: Even @ 4-7 (if he loses), people would still be delusional. I’m an 80s baby (who saw THE JACKSONS), so Lebron is just another player to me🤣

My 1st time on your channel. I really appreciate that you don't use foul language. I'm old school, from Chicago and saw Jordan play. MJ is tha GOAT... PERIOD!!! It's about how he made you feel when you watched him play. Even seeing your reaction, showed me how excited you were. The mixtape is a thing of beauty. The editing and music were fantastic. But it wouldn't be nearly as fascinating, if it did have MJ.

Nah. BB isn't that great today. Skill level is high but drive to win isn't there. Jordan, Magic and Bird played every game like it was their last and that was the difference.
Today it seems like a really long season that I don't care about until playoffs.

Jordan is the greatest athlete to ever play basketball and Bird is the smartest player to ever play basketball. I don't really compare them as they come at the game so very differently. Today we have this obsession with GOAT stuff but the truth is they are two of the very best... if you insisted on picking one player to be "the greatest" I think it has to be MJ. It's probably a silly distinction since they are both so amazing in their day and so clearly better than everyone else they played against. MJ is talent, Bird is brains... what makes you the GOAT you decide?

Great reaction! I enjoy your videos. I know what you're saying about players like Drexler and Ray Allen being overshadowed. It's like Sham. Sham was an excellent horse, but he ran when Secretariat did. He had the unfortunate timing of racing against the greatest horse who ever lived. There are lots of extraordinary Hall of Fame players who were both eclipsed and denied championships just because they played when MJ played.
You mention the greatness of Lebron. The problem is that with the greatness, there is a litany of serious negatives. That is all part of it. You can't just cherry-pick the good and ignore all the rest, especially when it is GOAT talk.
I love that you distinguish between subjective and objective lists. Not enough people do that. They mistake their favorite player to also be the GOAT, and in many instances, that is not the case.

MJ is most definitely well-deserving as the G.O.A.T. He was rewarded with multiple Regular Season & Finals MVPs. He has more trophies, awards, accolades and records achieved in a short time. He has the best moves on the court and much more electrifying than any other player. He actually played defense. My favourite team is the Toronto Raptors, however, MJ is the Greatest of them all.

The quality of today's NBA game is better than ever? Hard no. Better at shooting threes. YES. In today's NBA certain players are allowed to carry the ball and travel. Lebron gets three to four steps to the rim and is allowed to put his shoulder to bowl over players. Just watch the replays in slow mo. The flopping and free throws awarded to phantom fouls is completely out of hand in todays game. If players in the 90s were called for fouls by brushing jerseys against each other like today, imagine how many more inflated the point totals of those offensive stars of the 90s would be? Imagine Karl Malone or MJ's point totals then?
No, the rule changes in today's league make it impossible to defend without getting foul called on you and players just get out the way to allow players like Lebron to score. MJ never had it that easy.
If MJ rested on defense like Lebron does and only worried about offense, could you imagine MJ's scoring with all that energy saved? Think about that.
I was a Lebron fan earlier in his career, but once he started team stacking and trying to win the easy way I lost respect for him. That Miami heat team was a disgrace to the word competition.
Also, it doesn't matter if Lebron wins two more championships. That would mean he needed at least 22 seasons to just match MJ's WIN total. Think about that. MJ won 6 for 6 (100%) in 11 full seasons with the BULLS. Right now Lebron would need to win back to back just to be 6 for 12 (50%) in 22 seasons. That means it would have taken Lebron twice as many seasons to win the same amount of championships all while playing with other superstars on his team. How could that be better than MJ? Make that make sense.

G.O.A.Tś do not flop or stay at the net to make baskets and give lackadasical defense if at all!!! LJ is actually a mainstream media creation since he came out of hs!!!! The media has protected him his entire career!!! ESPN has a lot of explaining to in reference to current PED usage accusations on the net!!!! He is looking not so good in this situation!!!

Let me ask you this bro, how could the quality of the NBA better today if the competitiveness is nowhere near the same than previous eras?
I mean greattmess, prowess and the overall love of the game is rooted and grounded in being the BEST, by beating the BEST.
Without competitiveness there's nothing exciting to watch about any sport, let alone basketball.
Men thrive off competitiveness, hence the reason for the creation of sports in general.

I was never a basketball fan before or after Jordan, but when he played i lived the game. MJ didnt dunk, he flew. He floated. He had invisible wings. He had more air time than the Blue Angels. Watching him, you just knew you were witnessing greatness. Beyond his airtime, his ball handling and almost uncanny awareness of the location of opponents and the basket made him a standout during a great era for basketball.

Goat of the ugliest mascara or game. I saw him in person a few times and his game was as ugly as Candace Parker without Maybelline. He was as athletic as pregnant sloths. And his handles were mediocre at best. Even his own teammates (McHale and Ainge) view MJ as the GOAT. The great Bob Cousy also views MJ as the GOAT.

    • @katrinachavez3533

@@ThatGuyMalasartesIt's the opinion of Bob Cousy, the NBA logo (West), Baylor, Magic, Hakeem, Shaq, Ewing, Mourning, Divac, Barkley, Rodman, Wilkins, Worthy, Hill, Mullin, T-Mac, Nash, Tim Hardaway, Iverson, Kobe, Richmond, Moncrief, Dumars, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Ginoboli, Reggie Miller and Wade. That's a whole lot of hall-of-famers. I think we can both agree that they're just a little bit more qualified than you on the subject. Even today's cats (Durant, Leonard, Curry, Tatum, Doncic, Lillard, Zion, Harden, Butler, Edwards, Ingram, LaVine, Mitchell) view Black Jesus as the GOAT. Did you see the NBA poll on GOAT done earlier this year? His Airness doubled Bron in votes and Bird didn't even receive one vote.
Eye test? Jose Feliciano said you're in dire need of Lasik. I saw them both and MJ was a Bugatti at the Autobahn. Bird was Big Worm with a Jerome in Martin perm in a ice-cream truck on a lazy Friday afternoon.

I'm sorry, when people say comparing eras, which rules? You HAVE to use Jordan era rules. Today's NBA players, as much as everyone likes to say they are superior athletes, I disagree. They are superior in their training, but not in their skills. Sorry. Today's NBA players, have rules that allow them to take MORE steps to the hoops without travels, step-back shooting, uncalled offensive and defensive push-off and elbowing fouls, less defense, etc. The Rules have changed in-line with "the talent" today. Most of these ball handling "carry" moves today could not be completed under the Jordan era without being called, leading to more turnovers. I think it would be harder from a pure fundamentals ability to "take away" these modern ball player's skills, in favor of a more traditional way to play basketball. I think it would be harder for modern players to adapt to less lax, more right rules. Joran WAS and will ALWAYS be king. The perfect player and athlete.

Lakers had Magic/Kareem/Worthy and more....MJ had...uhhh... yeah just MJ....when he finally got Pippen and a better TEAM, his TEAM could compete with those other TEAMS just fine and MJ led in almost every category... but make no mistake about it, MJ outplayed all those guys individually, even in losses...so tired of seeing "MJ didn't beat TeamX"...because it was just MJ vs TeamX...he even said "I don't think one man can beat the Boston Celtics"..its silly to think Lebron on the mid 80s Bulls could have done anything different against the Celtics/Lakers/Pistons...especially getting tackled/punched/elbowed by the pistons

He averaging 50.4 points per game , 25.7 rebounds and 48.5 minutes in the same season. And they didn't have the 3 pointer in his era. Wilt has the most 50-point games in a season with 45 . Most players don't have one.in a career ..He also had a 100 point game. They made several new rules just to make it harder for him. His records and life time scoring average would have been even more if they didn't have him play less offense and more defensive in his second halve of his career .Check out his sats . He was also super strong and a track star. ..

Jordan is BY FAR the GOAT. It's not even close. Where it starts getting messy is at #2.
As for today's NBA, it is UNWATCHABLE!!!!! Nothing but a 3pt shooting contest, where players are allowed to take 5 steps, FLOP, and take too many games off (load management) in a league that has BANNED Defense. Adam Silver has admitted that he changed the rules to make it easier to score. NBA players have even said that it is easier to score in today's NBA than in the European League!! B-O-R-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!

I’ll agree with you that skill wise. The NBA is better than it’s ever been. However, that doesn’t mean that they are better basketball players. I do love the overall parity in the league right now though. It hasn’t been this good since the late 80s.

Overall skill levels in a sport should always improve over the years. The fact that you look back 40 years on someone’s rookie year and honestly consider that this man would still be the best player in the world on top of what he did for the game as a whole puts him above everyone else. I mean yeah lebron is breaking records but he’s played almost a decade longer in the NBA. I would hope by now he would have caught up with at least some of MJ’s achievements.

Appreciate you appreciating Bird. A great player and wicked competitor. Agree with you that Jordan outshines Bird (and all others) in complete dominance.
As far as today’s NBA, I can’t say kind words about what I’m seeing on the courts. Lack of defense and spacing has made scoring very easy. The amount of palming and traveling allowed by today’s rules makes the game look comical at times. Not going to deny the athletes are better overall (as diet, training and analytics have improved), but their fundamentals regressed as most pro players are fast-tracked to the show.
Growing up in the 80s and 90s made me spoiled by excellent team basketball, where teams played defense, bigs blocked shots, and a more physical style of play was allowed (to some extent). Most pros went to college and played a few years under terrific basketball minds, which led to a good knowledge of the game and a practicing of basic skills.

Jordan was more athletic and quicker than Bird, but Larry had a better all-around game, and was a better passer. He could make passes that put even the Harlem Globetrotters to shame! And he could hit the threes as well as anyone. He even hit a shot from behind the basket while falling out of bounds. It's hard to say who was actually better.

ok i had to reply again, i left that last comment halfway through the video...
Jordan is my GOAT, but like the man himself said at the beginning of the video, everyone plays different in different eras. Lebron is the Goat of this generation.
But...... ive seen them both, and Jordan was better in a single game scenario. he was clutch, he was aggressive and confident, he was athletically dominant, he was a master of fundamentals, when the Bulls pg got hurt doug collins put jordan in at pg and he averaged a triple double until the starter returned to the lineup. When people said drexler was a better player because he shot better from 3... MJ shot 6/6 on 3's in the FIRST HALF of game 1 of the NBA FINALS! just to prove a point (still an nba record).
Lebron will end up having the greater longevity and career stats - its simply amazing that he is still the player he is at this age, so i dont fault anyone who says hes the best they've seen, just like i respect old heads who say russell or wilt or kareem or bird or magic or whoever was their goat (my dad has oscar robinson but when pressed he will say mj was up there) because the game is just different in different eras

Love Jordan but it's hard for me to say Jordan is goat. Didn't make much of an impact when he came in. His drive was to win by himself was the thing that keeps him from being the goat for me.
Jordan was such a gifted athlete but his ability to play a team game wasn't there.
He says himself that he wanted what Bird and Magic had and he learned the hard way that he couldn't do it by himself.
Magic and Bird came in knowing what Jordan had to learn. You need your teammates.
Jordan for me is under several players in BB IQ but better than everyone else in athletic ability to play the game.
So I have a top six.
Magic and Jordan are my guards, Bird and Duncan are my forwards and Kareem is my center and Bron is my sixth man. I can make a great case though for McHale as sixth man
I have seen all of these players in real time and I said what I said.

Bron is trash. His accolades are longevity stats. His rings aren’t from being a cornerstone to a team. They’re from assembling juggernauts made of established players essentially playing pickup. The entire league and media caters to his madness. His legacy is going to be one of having a detrimental impact on the league just through his attitude. I’m 100% a hater on James. I’ll own that. He wouldn’t come close to a top 5 and I could make solid arguments against even a top 10.

Scoring today is not a big deal. Rules have been changed and because of the 3-point shots, the team must defend the much larger area, and there are many spaces through which you can penetrate or from which you can throw to the basket relatively freely. In addition, steps, travels, and carries are admitted much too easily as if we were in the schoolyard in the small classes. ~ inflated statistics.

No. There is no 'The One,' there's 'The Two' Prime to prime, Larry Bird is the equal of Jordan and possibly greatest all around player to pick up a basketball. You're not going to see Larry flying through the air dunking, that wasn't his game. What you will see is spectacular footwork, incredible passing, a fine defensive game, off the chain timing and court geometry that stands up to player of his era - no exceptions. He was a relentless point machine and he put it on every great player he went up against including Jordan with Pippen (even in the sunset of his career).

Of course Jordan is the best scorer of all time.. but look at the overall picture. Look at the passes Larry made that no one can match to thos day.. Jordan's famous clutch shot to win.. Larry made 10 or more just like that. The angle of many of Larry's shots. How about an entire period left handed? And how short larries career was because his back and feet were destroyed for the previous 5 years. Can you even imagine a HEALTHY Larry bird?
