"Let It Be" isn't my favourite Beatles song - it's in my Top 10 but it's "In My Life" is my fav - but I think the last minute of "Let It Be" is among the finest recorded music ever made. Also, George's guitar solo on the album solo is just to die for.
it's the perfect song to close an album with. and i love how it's also like the closing track of their whole career, definitely the best way to end the beatles story 🥲
"Hey Bulldog", "While my guitar gently weeps", "For No One","Here, There, and Anywhere", "Yesterday"....there are dozens of songs that could replace these as my favourite five favourites
i dont necessarily have a favorite but If I Fell is such an underrated track, honestly one of the beatles' best songs in my opinion. both A Hard Day's Night & Magical Mystery Tour have songs that are unfairly slept on
I still can't Believe that the beatles had a jam session with young elvis at his house and there's never been a recording of it . John paul Elvis singing blues classics...what a wasted opportunity. How did no one record that
God this song is so fucking good. Definitely my favorite Beatles song. The harmonies during the verses ("on the world going by my window"), the expertly written backwards guitar solo, lyrics about a drug free psychedelic experience, Ringo's simple drum fills and cymbal clanging. Yep, it's goated.
I mean if you think it's the best stick to that. Music is subjective, that's probably my favorite as well! Plus objectively it sounds great and is incredibly written
It's not lyrically deep or sonically innovative, but Back in the USSR is one of the best rockers, period. Kinda wish they did more of that stuff. Also the transition to Dear Prudence is great, giving the White Album one of the best openings in the Beatles discography.
Fantano's Beatles knowlege has always been sorely lacking. The drumming in Ticket to Ride alone is incredible. Just because it's early Beatles doesn't mean you should write it off.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps is a perfect song. Easily my favourite. The soulful, uplifting melody, Clapton's fabulous guitar work, McCartney's piercing bassline, and of course, Harrison's excellent songwriting.
My top 50 1. A Day In The Life 2. Hey Jude 3. In My Life 4. Let It Be 5. Here, There & Everywhere 6. Strawberry Fields Forever 7. Come Together 8. Blackbird 9. Eleanor Rigby 10. Think For Yourself 47. I’m So Tired 48. I’ve Got A Feeling 49. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da 50. Taxman
I know this probably won't be a popular take but there's something in the beautiful simplicity of 'Don't Let Me Down' that I really love. I know it's not the most popular, or iconic, or innovative but that one just hits it for me.
I love pretty much all of their songs, but there are a couple of tracks that always makes me mesmerized when I listen to them again. You Never Give Me Your Money, Dear Prudence, Rain, If I Needed Someone and You Won't See Me are some good examples.
Tomorrow Never Knows might be my favorite just because it so different from everything else - and not only when looking at the Beatles catalogue, but music as a whole. And i love the idea of that being the last song that people heard when they listened to Revolver in 1966, one year before psychedelic music blew up.
@@gclip9883 It really is such a unique song, there are very few songs in all of music that evoke such a mysteriously beautiful sound as that one. The title track on Children of God by Swans is another exception.
My personal fave is Happiness is a warm gun. It’s just so weird and catchy and cool sounding, but I think their best song is A Day in the Life. What an absolute masterpiece. John’s section at the start is bizarre and the piano chords that come in just before the verse are powerful. Then you get the orchestra buildup that creates so much tension only to have it be released with Paul’s catchy little section and then the AAAHS are so good. Literally a perfect song.
It's got one of my favorite lines from Paul: "Don't carry the world upon your shoulder, for well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder."
For me i think I Want you (She’s So Heavy) is the best! It’s insane how they can have such a cray ambience in such a simple song like a lot of their music!
I love and listened to all of their music, I don’t actually know which is one is my favorite so I just lie and make a top 10. 10. Revolution 1 (take 18) 9.Honey Pie 8.Long Tall Sally 7. Till there was you 6. Strawberry Fields Forever 5. Across the Universe (1965) 4. What Goes On 3. All you need is love 2. Abbey Road Melody 1. Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
Revolver may be their best album, but White definitely has their best songs. For fuck's sake, Dear Prudence, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Back In The USSR, and Happiness Is A Warm Gun are all just on the first side! That's to say nothing of Blackbird, Helter Skelter, Martha My Dear, Rocky Raccoon, I Will, and Mother Nature's Son! That said, their best song will always be A Day In The Life.
Tomorrow Never Knows is still the most groundbreaking rock song ive ever heard relative to its time. It sounds like it could have been released yesterday
To me the song quality matters most as well as the instrumentation and to me you cant get too much better than Ticket to Ride. Nowhere Man is my favorite though
Love to see so many different favs in the comments. But I didn't scroll down enough to see their first album being mentioned so I'll just name drop "I Saw Her Standing There". Also "Come Together", these are the two that get my family jamming.
My favorite is “it’s okay to leave your dog in a hot car”
This is the only correct answer.

my favourite is "consent is a social construct".
I remember there was conflict of who wrote that song.
Tomorrow Never Knows goes fucking hardddd

@HhjjhjHhhgghgh-qj4oy you gotta be kidding
Yes was just about to comment this
yeah I don't think it's the best but it's up there
You don’t even have to do LSD, just listen to that song and you’ll get high
the fact no one's mentioned "in my life" is honestly mind boggling.

Their best?! 🤔
Really good track. I also like Yellow Submarine, and Let it Be.
Dear Prudence.
Perfect mix of their early day pop sensibility, with their more progressive melodies a few years later.
Indeed... Fantastic song ❤
And that bass line ❤
Across The Universe (the naked version)

George was a genius it's true. could also have mentioned While My Guitar Gently Weeps, incredible song
Hot take here there everywhere
Genuinely beautiful and amazing song
Not a hot take. Genuinely one of the best love songs in terms of prose.
Not hot at all, it's literally Paul's favourite of all the songs he's written.
Good pick, literally the only thing going against it is I like the Frank Ocean song it’s interpolated in more (White Ferrari)
One of my faves too was my parents first dance at their wedding what a pick!
1 of the best chord progressions ever. It was one of John's favourite song that Paul wrote!
Dear Prudence will forever be my favorite. And Siouxsie Sioux’s cover is perfection
I like how it follows Back in the USSR, one of their best rockers. The two songs pair greatly.

Hey Jude was that exact song for me... really stirred up the emotion I call "POWER"
I’m shocked at how few people if any have mentioned “The End.” While it’s short, it’s one of their most powerful tracks to me

Helter Skelter helped invent an entire genre, so that's one for me. Also love And Your Bird Can Sing, or almost anything else on Revolver.
I know the Vultures thing is a Kanye joke, but the fact that is STILL ties back to the Beatles because of The Jungle Book made me laugh even harder.
