- Capt & Mrs Buster Rush of Rush Fishing Guide Service took time off to fish the Wateree River to try and catch enough fish for the annual fish fry at the Church! They did a great job and filled up the cooler with enough fish to feed the whole crowd! So lets catch up with Capt Buster and Mrs Jean as they tear up some bream and catfish in the Wateree River here in the Midlands of SC!

What a wonderful fishing trip. Love watching the both of you tearing up some bream and catfish. I know that Church Fish fry was fantastic! God Bless the two of you and pray you guys have many more fishing trips on the river.
I’m a new subscriber and new to fishing. It’s very addicting. I watch videos when I can’t get out. I also watch them for education. I came across your video and feel in love with you guys. Good fishing and nice scenery. I look forward to watching many more. Be blessed!

Enjoy watching your videos. Have friend that lives on Sabine river in east Texas that I fish with in the spring when the river is up and we have a good time every time we go. We too catch a lot of catfish for a fish fry for our Church. When you get time film some more videos on bream and catfish. thanks for the videos, I think I've watched them 3 or 4 times now. Never get tired of watching them.

Your videos are the best
Just watched this. Nice video. I can't wait till it's vampire season again. I kind of miss them mosquitos . Come on warmer weather get here.
Great Video.
I can't imagine catching blue gills like that in the river
Capt sure can catch a cat. Hope you all had a great fish fry.
at the 14:37 mark in this vid- it says wateree river mixed bag - WAT KIND OF BREAM IS THAT WITH THE STRIPED BARS ON IT ????????????
what size bream hook are the best for this setup. an old dog can learn new tricks.
also what size line are you using
great video!! Wondering when did they catch these fish? And what part of the river were they fishing at?
Joseph Coker It was back in June... They were down around Red Bank!
yall should come hunt in prince george county va next season guests are free (warwick hunt club)
Nice video, so it looks like they don't use bobbers just split shot and let it sink?
Lee Brown That's how we bream fish the river! We dead-line using a bream hook and 1/8 or 1/4 oz of split-shot to keep the line vertical in the current. We bounce the bottom while bream fishing the river and we wear them out! But, this is also a very effective means to get into the river cats as well...
I guess no reservations about eating the fish eh? I've been trying to figure out whether to eat them or not myself (not sure about the water quality on the congaree/saluda).
+Yani M Enjoyed the video btw...wonderful work! I've been starting out and trying to learn the river and Lake Marion...have quite a ways to go it seems : )
You got awesome videos! Where is a good place to put in the wateree river to stay away from all the boulders, I don't want to tear up my boat.
hey Joseph... there is a nice landing at the #1 hwy bridge on the Lugoff side of the river on the north bound side of hwy #1. Next to the old Dupont plant (Invista)
Looks like a great fishin hole. Do you bait the area then fish or is that not allowed in your state?
Maybe Capt. Buster can have another name, Cat Buster.
archersfriend LOL! We just look for log jams in the river and fish the heavy cover... You can get into some really good bream & catfish!
Bubba Rountree Outdoors
Do you ever catch crappie when you fish for cats and bream
do rou ever fish with catalba worms
Yes we do! Whenever they are available.
Could I ask, what size boat you're in? I live not to far from the old state road ramp for the congaree, and even closer to the ramp for the saluda below Murray. I have a 14ft vhull Jon with a 25hp, just a little hesitant to get in the rivers, I've ran mostly lakes my entire life lol.
Mogleyo069 Capt Buster's river boat is a 16 ft Jon boat pushed by a 40 hp Merc outboard.
Thank you sir, I reckon I'll pick up a spare "river" prop and give it a shot.
You mind if I ask what type of bait you and your wife was using
+Patriots Nation Sure you can ask my friend! :) We are using Mostly Red worms, and a few crickets!
+Bubba Rountree Outdoors how deep was yall fishing with the weight
+Patriots Nation Bouncing the bottom, 7 to 10 ft deep.
captain buster sir what were ya'll using as bait.
JDADDY27 We were using red worms & crickets... they seemed to be hitting the worms better on this trip!
Check out this 40 lbs cat I caught in the upstate saluda
