Shellcracker Fishing catching Huge Monster Slabs

  • Shellcracker fishing during the mid-summer months after the first shellcracker spawning rush has diminished... We hit a few beds...some bluegill beds and a few shellcracker beds that was too early to catch fish at a good pace. Finally we found the right bed and got the limit in no time. Monster fish...could hardly lift some over into the boat. Enjoy!

Kurtis I loved this video. Fishing has always been an enjoyment for me. Nothing like sitting there pulling slab after slab in. I can no longer go because of my health but this video brought back some very good memories. Thank you.

Reminds me of my grandmother. Boy she could flat put a hurtin on some bluegill with a cane pole. Only times I ever enjoyed getting out fished. Takes me back to simpler days. :)

Tell me about it. When I read your reply it reminded me of how my grandmother would tear the gills up with her trusty Zebco 33. That's when those reels were made in the U.S.A

Like your umbrella shade idea! Might have to copy that! That shade sure beats the sun all day! The amount of shade time has a direct relationship to fish caught!

Mr. Mays, you are on some great fishing with this video. I like the long poles as well when the fish are on the beds, saves time, gets your bait were the fish are and hauls em' right out. good job sir.

Awesome video of some NICE shell crackers! Believe it or not. This video, even more than bass fishing videos, makes me miss my bass boat terribly. I had no choice but to sell it to save our home during the recession. I bought it new in '04 and paid it off in 18 months........and damned if I still didn't have to lose it. I've got to get another boat. I just can't afford a new one like before. I love your videos. Thanks for posting them.
