    Dope! Ensoniq Asr 10! My first one I bought from a used music store one of the buttons didn’t work I sold it. My second one had the purple screen I tried to get a drive installed the technician fucked up my keyboard 🎹 only one side of the keyboard worked after 😡. I got rid of it after. It’s something about it though a couple of months ago I got the rack module version. I was waiting for my midi keyboard 🎹 from eBay through fedex some bs is going on they delivered to the wrong apartment no door tag 🏷 for me or someone stole it idk.

      Ahh damn, u have some bad luck with the ASR 10! 😂

    • @ushnicyuvnikof2748
      @ushnicyuvnikof2748 2 роки тому

      The button was literally just a tact switch it's they easiest fix in the world and a must know when dealing with old hardware. The drives on Ensoniqs, E-MUs and Akais are also just open up and plug in, no soldering involved why would you get a technician? Sounds like some random guy trying to rip you off and installing drives is a must know when dealing with samplers. If you can't a tact switch, a screen or install a floppy, CF, Jazz, gotek or whatever then tbh you didn't deserve to have the sampler dude, no offence but this isn't for you.

    • @Metamophisis
      @Metamophisis 2 роки тому

      You got to go all the way through the Ensoniq Asr 10 to repair it. Ensoniq Eps and 16 Plus are easy to open up and get to genius.

      @@Metamophisis Hardware samplers are just not for you Sir. I have an ARS-10 it's not a big deal it's not like you have to solder anything and even that is a skill you need to learn to maintain vintage hardware. Taking things apart is quite basic. You have to take the Akai S950 fully apart to get to the drive to retro fit a gotek - you'd have to be crazy to pay a cowboy "technician" to do it - who is he and what does he know about vintage hardware? Odd jobs people who make money off knowing a little about electronics will have less knowledge then you the owner. Again if you can't be bothered to unscrew things and then rescrew them and or pop out and in a few buttons and or plug in a screen or a stick of ram then again old hardware or just hardware in general just isn't for you Sir. If you don't want to do anything then just use software, respectfully.

    Great seeing your process. Thank you for the vid. 🔥
    Not that I can hear it in this beat, but have you ever noticed the ASR sequencer sometimes lags for a split split second when it loops back to the beginning of a sequence. I notice it sometimes when I have a lot of sound memory filled up in the machine but it’s definitely not all the time.
    Interested in anyone’s tips to avoid this happening. Maybe there is unnecessary processing happening in the ASR that I can turn off in order to prevent this. For instance I’m pretty sure I have aftertouch switched off etc. Or maybe it’s something to do with the maxed out memory I have in the machine.
    I also use an eps16+ and I very rarely notice the same issue.

    • @thedjmikep
      @thedjmikep  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback, I haven't really experienced that issue, I also never get close to using the max sample time, that could be why..

    What’s your take on the ensoniq output expander for the asr 10. Ever use it? Is it even needed?

    • @flamebridgemusic
      @flamebridgemusic Рік тому +1

      It's good for if you want to send the beat from the ASR tracked out so that you can mix it on an external device. I have one and I use it but it's not needed.

    Dope beat. I think it would sound tighter if you chopped up the sample into more pieces because it sounds a little out of time in some parts. I also think you could've added more notes to the bassline. Other than that, good work.
