Bought one in mint condition for 1000$, was definitely worth it! The work flow is so much more smooth and easy than in a DAW. You can do EVERYTHING you want and the sound of it is absolutely amazing. Only thing tho is the sample memory… sometimes it’s not enough. If you load two/three floppy’s with different instruments that shit eats up the memory. HOWEVER if you want to sample each instrument instead of using floppies you will have more than enough
Nah, this the old vid I was getting my equipment mixed up. I had A MPC2000xl too. I did an updated vid. FWM - WHY YOU SHOULD BUY AN ASR 10 TODAY ua-cam.com/video/44F1qdcyMJ4/v-deo.html
Had mine from new and it’s only had the memory expansion and it’s never left my home . Just wanted to know what I had on my hands . Thanks for the feedback 👍
No, I’m saying in comparison to how we sample today it’s not digital. It’s not as fast, it’s not as easy to use either, not to mention the sample rates. What’s not new is people getting in the comments typing without using common sense. Although SOME of the info in this vid is a little inaccurate, it’s also information in it that is. The fact that you ONLY heard me say it isn’t a digital sampler amazes me lol stay tuned for the update…
@@BIG_APEX_REACTS got ya sorry for sounding like a dick. I understand now. Yeah it's a different sampler for sure. Too bad they go for such heavy prices these days. It has nice action and poly after touch is rare
@@BIG_APEX_REACTS really man I'm sorry. I was up forever. So tired I turned on my gear sat down and an hour and a half later I realized I'd just been spacing out. Never once touched a key. It was a bitch comment and I apologize
Lol it’s all good fam, we’ve all been there I promise! Get some sleep! Welcome to Apex Nation! To answer your question no it does not, the Maschine will sample it exactly how it sounds coming out of the ASR. However if u sample sounds into the ASR from the Maschine, it’s a treat.💯
@@BIG_APEX_REACTS well I'll never get another one at the prices they go for. I really regret dumping the 909. I thought I have samples and there are all the copies. Whoops
I've never been one to use a daw. When you send it to the machine from the asr does it change that unique sound of the asr sample? Damn as much as I'm messaging you today I'm starting so look like a desperate girlfriend
@@aldonova4082 all depends on the dynamics of the material and what you listen with. If it's modern pop I agree, if it's dynamic acoustic or orchestral, it can get pretty easy to hear the difference.. especially during quiet passages and song fade outs.
Lol no but I am nice on the boards! If u need your song mixed, looking for beats hit the site apexmusicandmedia.com We gonna have sound kits, templates, and plug ins coming soon!
There’s also awesome videos on this channel of me using the ASR if u want sound examples watch those. Also ya goof, who’s watching 1 video about ASRs? Lol
Had my ASR 10 since 97, and I never will part ways with her..Nuff Said.
Oh!! another video about how amazing the asr is without a single second showing me how great it is...
Oh! Another commenter that hasn’t done a single lick of research on whose video they’re commenting on. Get you an ASR 10 if you wanna see one chump.
Great sampler. Just had mine repaired. By the way it comes with 2 Meg sample memory that can be expanded to 16 Meg

You should midi a computer with hella VSTs to it…Endless possibilities 😤 but my only hang up with it, is the sequencer.
@@BIG_APEX_REACTS yo! Don’t know how to do that, gonna have to check it out!
WHY YOU SHOULD BUY AN ASR 10 TODAY
ua-cam.com/video/44F1qdcyMJ4/v-deo.html
It's actually too easy. I had 3 songs done by noon. What the hell am I supposed to do with the rest of my day??
Use it as a sound module while recording in a DAW
Maxed out is 16mb on the ASR-10
hell yea! lol I corrected myself in the description. I love the thing tho...
I always wanted to have one as a kid. Now as a grown ass man I still want one!
Definitely! When u get one, have it midi synced with a DAW. The timing on these things are off if you’re a stickler for quantizing
What about the rack mount version???
The rack is the goat, I got both
Max is 16 MB not expandable to 32

Can you just use the rack, sample into it, then export the samples to the computer and chop it there to get the same sound?
Sure.
interested in that raspberry pi idea man, keep us posted
will do!

More like $2,000-$2,500 on ebay if in good shape, maxed out and with a scsi drive installed.

No it won't change it, I have it plugged into my mackie before it goes into my interface. That way I can tweak the high an lows more if needed
44.1 / 16 bit is CD quality - if this thing did 24bit, it was better
Super hard to tell the difference in sound quality vs 24 bit.
