Here’s what I like about this video. 1- You have the guts to say “everybody’s wrong!” That can so easily be true. I watched them all and you’re right. 2- That “same pitch” before assigning chops usually comes in at 29:42 in ASR videos. As if it’s not totally important. 3- You playback samples through FX instead of dry. Without overly explaining the “FX SECTION”. That sparks ideas for me because I rarely use ASR FX. Just filtering/EQish editing. I’m still new so this video hit me right. Thanks my dude!
Brother, thank you so much for this video, I just took possession of an EPS classic and this video’s helped me out big time. Would love to see more on the EPS. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
My EPS 16+ disk drive died haven't used it in years... But it's forever my favourite sampler because chopping using Params and not making copies of the Wav meant you could have 61 chops and waste no memory. Blew the MPCs of the era away in my opinion
Ive been baffled by these asr10 chopping vids. I do exactly what I see on the video and "NOPE! that didn't work". This video was much better. I wanna see the video that breaks it down into quick sections. The HOW first. The WHY second. The REST later. "TO CHOP. EDIT-LAYER=NO PITCH" (no commentary on other options in that window. Next). Then the error section... "if this didn't happen check this". Thing about this unit is that it remembers what you did in the previous window (like when the playback pitch was too slow). The viewer has to know how to recover from that as you did. If not..... Frustration! Otherwise best video so far. I like the fact that you said that most other videos were wrong. It made me realize that I'm not crazy! As for the ASR10 (ADVANCED SAMPLING RECORDER), Its still the deepest hardware sampler on the market and does more useful sample editing than any other. This thing is a beast.
And if You're in a hurry, don't bother with copying wavesample parameters and finding keys for them, just take one wavesample and map the keyboard to sample start and adjust mod amount. Then You have it chopped across the whole keyboard. Just remember the: pitchable = no pitch!
God bless you. That is a 💎. I stopped chopping on this, the classic eps & the asr 10 because it was so cumbersome. This is a decent compromise now to consider! Good looking bro 🤙
I prefer to set the layer on legato without a glide time and the release to 99. no you can play the chops mpc style. They play infinite by hitting they key shortly and they cut of each other.
Hey, MG. I tried this method on the ASR-10 (keyboard), but it's not working for me. 1) When I change the pitch table to "No Pitch," it increases the sample up an octave from the original root key. 2) When I "Copy Wavesample" > "Copy Params Only," it creates the new wavesample, but it only plays the newest wavesample. When I press the key for the 1st wavesample, it shows WS1, but no sample is played.
looking forward to more videos on the EPS 16. cheers , Oh and please try to get the camera angle above the keyboard so we can see what you are doing more clearly if possible. Cheers
Pretty wild how simple it is to integrate and jam with a sample on this. Most samples aren't that fun to this day. Have any recommendations for a budget option with this kind of workflow?
Late reply but nevertheless....When you switch off the Pitch Table the sample will play back on the root key that you set it initially. If you pitch the sample back up in the PITCH menu you'll be good I think.
@mgtheproducer is it possible to save the Program wit my wave sample for example 8 pieces. And then to delete my sample, record a new one and still have 8 WS but just have to edit my start points o work quicker?

You don't even need vinyl on a machine like this the sound of the sampler alone is sweet. The ASR-10 is a gem to.
Ensoniq ASR-10 Purple Edition user here, learning your tricks to use this machine, good job!!!
Just made my day. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
Perfect. That is how it's done.I actually love that sample.Keep up the great tutorials.
I know it’s a little too famous. Copywrite strike but oh well lol 😂

That was a great damn tip. I never looked in that pitch table thing and that is going to save me so much time fixing pitches.
Golden. Quick, to the point, easy to understand. Honestly decent sample and you wasn’t even trying. Good work!
Thank you for watching.
Respect. By the time I did all that I wouldn’t even wanna make no music lol!
I feel you. Thanks for watching.
Damn! 💥 Thanks a lot! I've just tried this method, I didn't even know that trick! 🤜🤛
Glad I can help.

You gotta explain this Bro

Hey I do edit layer and after no pitch it gets pitched down a bunch do you know what’s happening

Hey how do you connect the ensoniq to the computer
What cable you use and can you use it for the audio interface please me tell me step by step
how did you connect it to sample from the computer?
Just sampled from my interface into the eps 16
Question, can I do everything done on an ASR-10 on a TS-12 when it comes to sampling?
@mgtheproducer is it possible to save the Program wit my wave sample for example 8 pieces. And then to delete my sample, record a new one and still have 8 WS but just have to edit my start points o work quicker?
any know how to pitch table off in the casio fz greetz
Doesn't this and the asr 10 have a 16 track sequencer?
What cord you need to get input from ya Mac to ya sampler?
Simple 1/4 inch from my interface

Actually no need to do what you did. You can just edit pitch of each individual key later on.
That can take a very long time if you have 64 chops
@@MGtheProducer also some producers want different pitches on the different keys. I mean it is relevant what you are saying but not gospel.
@@analogcrunch4716 of course. There are no rules in production
