And when the fanbase criticizes the writer for pandering to otakus, they come out and say "well no that's just how this universe works that wasn't my intention" as if the whole point wasn't to write a story that catered to their fetishes. But for the most part Japan acknowledges the fanservice genre and people who aren't into that can avoid it. Many writers begin by writing self insert fan fics and stuffing stories with their fetishes. Virtually all of the top selling YA novels written by women are just softcore erotica with their repressed desires soaking up the page. And we all know GRRM stuffed A Song of Ice and Fire with his too. The difference is his writing was good enough to overlook it.

The themes of Star Wars have always a been: Good v Evil; Family; and Redemption. These were expressed through a space opera with adventure, struggle, mystery and love. None of that exists in Disney Star Wars because they intentionally removed those themes and replaced them with their own agenda where they diminish Evil, undermine Good, and destroy Family. They convoluted Redemption into just "ignoring" the evil a person has done and giving them unearned forgiveness. Because they cannot write, they don't even bother with adventure, struggles, meaningful mystery or love.
What difference does it make? No one is watching, except Ryan, Mike Zeroh and the guy in the mask.
More people are watching then you'd like to think. There is still an audience of diehard SW fans out there. Some of these 'new fans' they are after, Phony Filoni s1mps and even old school 'I've been around since the OT hit the cinema in 1977' fans. These people do exist and like Lesbian Headlamp they like 'All the Star Wars'. It's a pale shadow of what used to be, but they exist.

How do they calculate the 85% fresh rating for critics. When you click on it and choose all critics, it says 82 reviews fresh and 20 rotten. It gives a score of 6.8 out of 10 at the bottom. So why isnt the score 68% instead of 85%?
Because critics rating isn't based on an average of their scores, it's how many of them are 6+... You can have every review being sixes (the lowest positive score) and the rating would show 100%
