I grew up on country and GS is my favorite. More than a country singer, he's a gentleman in most every way. Its become toxic when they mixed other styles of music to it and that many great singers have died or stopped singing for whatever reasons. This is the type of country that is real. George is one of the best. A true legend. Unfortunately much of what is produced and labelled country today is rubbish.
Years ago, I worked in a Dance Lounge, In Michigan...When I met the good o'le country boy from Missouri. We dated and then drifted apart. Many years later, our paths crossed again, and we found ourself working together again. It was when you released this song...He remembered, (He did just what you sing about)...He played this song one day at work. He kept restarting the tape, until I shut up and listened to all the words. I will never forget that day...He said, "This is what happened the night we met." He was so right, almost word for word, step by step. Thank you for bringing back Good Memories, George. Thank You.
