My brother passed away from a car accident when I was 11. Maybe 150 feet from the stop sign, there’s a tiny old country church with 3 wooden crosses out by the road. I’ve struggled a lot of my life wondering why we could lose such a good person, but it lead me to the cross myself. We found a journey my brother had and he mentioned how he wished we all would come to know Christ. It took time, but my father and I both have come to accept Christ, and I’d like to think we are that 4th cross. It’s hard to accept certain things, but maybe his passing was needed to get us to accept the more. I don’t know; I don’t think I’ll know until I get to ask them myself, but it’s changed my life. Can’t wait to see him again.

I used to be a caregiver of an elderly man every summer while I was in college. I put all his CDs on an iPod for him and we would cruise around town everyday listening to it. I never asked him about it, I would just let him cry sing along with me. I always wondered where his mind went to during this song. He made me love this song!

This song always reminded me of Bozeman, Montana. As I write this I’m firefighting on a hotshot fire crew in California. We’re firefighting near Lake Tahoe. Playing this song quietly as my crew sleeps and the wildfires glow is on the distant horizon. We’re still living the cowboy lifestyle out here. THE WILD WEST ISN’T DEAD! 🇺🇸
I just got back from vacation there, my buddy owns a restaurant in big sky so I go out there every summer and I always fly in and out of the bozeman airport
What it's all about.... The memories. Us Americans are the toughest and the most reasonable citizen s of this world all while coming from some fucked up upbringings. Salute brother

Nice try kid. I bet you didn't even finish middle school yet
40 years later, it still hurts , like it was just yesterday. I tell myself to stop hurting myself. But like a gentle sea wave memories keep coming one after the other. Only upside, few know just how often your mind goes to that lonely shore. I am good, nothing to see here. love this song.
Released 30 years ago. Wow such a big change since then. I remember being in the 90s without internet or cellphones. Heck even without computers. Such a simple time back then.
You go to any bar in Texas, you are bound to hear this song playing, and it never gets old, everyone will dance their hearts out to this. I love you all, and much respect in the years to come☝️💪🎉
I shared my bedroom with my older brother up until high school. He used to fall asleep to country music on, like it was his white noise. I can sing ever 90s country song on the charts, half of the songs I honestly don't even know who sings them, but I know every word. I remember my brother had this cd. I used to think rock was so much better. I hear this song now 20 years later and it just hits different. I'm adding this to my list of open mic night songs to sing out in The Bay Area. This cowboy is about to give these hippies a sad country song at the bar, a recipe for a sign along.
Damn. I heard a cover of this today and had to hear the original and just cry. I found my daddy this week after he passed. I needed that cry so bad. Thank you for this song!!!
@Garth Brooks no, I have never seen Brooks and Dunn. I am a hard rocker. I have seen an insane amount just not them or any country except for my two friends that made it in the country world. Bless!
@Ronnie Dunn What’s the deal with people like you pretending to be famous musicians in the comment sections of their songs? I see it a lot now and I just don’t get it. Do you just want to feel important for once in your life or something?
I feel you girl, my parents listened to this alot, they're still here with us but they're getting old and I'm gonna miss them. This song reminds me of when I was little.
The older you get the more you realize country music fits your life more than any other type of music. This song reminds me of my mommas old red ford expedition she had growing up and would play her country jams and i was always like wtf is this, now here i am. 20-25years later with my own family playin these same old jams in my car, while my kids sing along with some of em.
Just saw them last night in Toledo and they haven’t lost a step. Fantastic show, class acts, both of them. Nothing but good things to say about Brooks & Dunn.

I lost my grandma too. I miss being on her ranch. I dont go out there too much because it hurts with so many memories. My uncles oversee the ranch now and ask me to come out there but i cant do it.
After six years of being alienated from my son this song resonates with me. Fighting parental alienation and trying to regain a mother and son relationship we win! I’m so thankful that they didn’t break us! I love you Colten! Your mom loves you so much!
country music will never fade. it has a tendency of taking you back to the olden days, it lifts your spirit, it's real and will always be evergreen, You're a real fan.
This song is pure nostalgia. My childhood man, my childhood 🥺❤️ My Dad was a musician and played in multiple bands all throughout my life and he sang this song at many a gig's. I remember waking up at the wee hours of the morning to songs like this blaring on his sound system after a gig he played that night, when he'd come home having drank too much and got in his feels lol. I used to hate it as a kid but now I look back fondly on those memories. My papa passed away from cancer in 2017 💔 I miss him so much. This one's for you Dad ❤️ It's not the same without you.
Lyrics😍 When the sun goes down on my side of town That lonesome feeling comes to my door And the whole world turns blue There's a rundown bar 'cross the railroad tracks I got a table for two way in the back Where I sit alone and think of losing you I spend most every night Beneath the light Of a neon moon Now if you lose your one and only There's always room here for the lonely To watch your broken dreams Dance in and out of the beams Of a neon moon I think of two young lovers running wild and free I close my eyes and sometimes see You in the shadows of this smoke-filled room No telling how many tears I've sat here and cried Or how many lies that I've lied Telling my poor heart she'll come back someday Oh, but I'll be alright As long as there's light From a neon moon Oh, if you lose your one and only There's always room here for the lonely To watch your broken dreams Dance in and out of the beams Of a neon moon Jukebox plays on, drink by drink And the words of every sad song seem to say what I think And its hurt inside of me, ain't never gonna end Oh, but I'll be alright As long as there's light From a neon moon Oh, if you lose your one and only There's always room here for the lonely To watch your broken dreams Dance in and out of the beams Of a neon moon Come watch your broken dreams Dance in and out of the beams Of a neon moon Oh, watch your broken dreams Dance in and out of the beams Of a neon moon😍
Only time I ever danced with my Daddy. On my daughter’s wedding day to this song. Hadn’t heard this song before but made me realize how much he loved my Momma.
I usually listen to R&B, but I loved this song the very first time I ever heard it not because it was on an endless rotation through my local radio station, but because it was so, so good. Real music. Well done .
I will never understand how this incredible duo didn't get more awards than they did! I listen to both and Brooks and Dunn have a hauntingly beautiful sound that stays with me while others are just average sounding. They are worlds apart!!
an excerpt from a page on them----Superstar duo Brooks & Dunn released their first album in 1991, a blockbuster that delivered four #1 singles - the first of 23 chart-toppers in a career that’s seen Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn become the best-selling duo in country music history. Hits like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Maria,” “Only in America,” and “Believe” have propelled Brooks & Dunn to more than 30 million albums sold, as the duo has amassed more than 80 industry awards, including 2 GRAMMY awards, 20 Country Music Association trophies, and 27 Academy of Country Music honors, making them the most-awarded act in ACM history. Named Entertainer of the Year four times collectively by the ACM and CMA. Looks like they lead the pack, and rightfully so. Just thot you might like to know, how appreciated these guys are, by fans and their peers.

Thank you for your service brother
Wow 👌 👏
I just met some firefighters from Arizona fighting a wildfire in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. Coolest guys ever.
This song is a timeless classic! Just love it.
My husband and I are both widows. We saw Brooks and Dunn in concert and literally fell completely in love all over again and danced to this song (during the concert). Brings beautiful memories when I hear this song.
@Richie Morgan hello
We are glad to have u as a fan
Hi dear, I was on my scrolling mode when I saw your comment and was moved to send a text to you hope you don't find it pestering..?
Every time when this song comes up I wanna cry but just can’t! Gives me the old memories when I had fun outside! But I’ve grown out of that now.😢 and now im on a device making this comment!
Hope you have read my comment! Have a great night or morning! 😁
This song tells the story of my life, and I will never tire of hearing it. Lori, you know how I feel.
My sister who passed away use to love this song. Every time I hear it it reminds me of her.
I'm so sorry to hear about your sister......This song she loves so much she's letting you know she your angel!!
I lost my brother, in 1980....I know a long time ago, but everyday something comes on that reminds me of him.....he was only 17, I was a year older......I still go to the beach finding seashell, and drift wood.....I have a beach bucket I bring with me to put, and I know he's with me....he loved the beach......He died from the cold water with his best friend...... I'll never forget that phone call from my mom.......You learn to live with this as best as you can......I can't imagine loosing my children, now all grown adults.....I stayed with my parents, and siblings going through this.....I can say I understand how horrible it is loosing a sister or brother......my heart, and prayers are with you!!
Love this song! It just gets better with age!
Classic song. Should've never used this in Tik-Tok
Bruh you got this song from tik tok i bet gtfo
@@drprunejuice9654 Whoa kid, my grandma showed me this song on the radio way before you were even born. Second of all, yeah I watch tik-tok, but this remix is so lame I would rather clean my own yard instead. So, you're telling me that I came from tiktok and now you're telling me to get out? Nice try kid. I bet you didn't even finish middle school yet
Yes it does
@KingFredo509 you
40 years later, it still hurts , like it was just yesterday. I tell myself to stop hurting myself. But like a gentle sea wave memories keep coming one after the other. Only upside, few know just how often your mind goes to that lonely shore. I am good, nothing to see here. love this song.
I feel ya..💔
Released 30 years ago. Wow such a big change since then. I remember being in the 90s without internet or cellphones. Heck even without computers. Such a simple time back then.
Sure was everything and everyone so different
You go to any bar in Texas, you are bound to hear this song playing, and it never gets old, everyone will dance their hearts out to this. I love you all, and much respect in the years to come☝️💪🎉
I was just in downtown Dallas and all i heard was pop and rap
@@mineonlyhooves well yeah that’s Dallas for ya, I’m talking the little bars around the central area, the best.🙏
Gotta love the Lonestar State baby!!!
I grew up on hip hop... played it almost every day.....BUT i also love country..I love being a Texan!!!!!
Head to West Texas.
This has been one of my favorite songs since 1991.love it always. 2024.
Mine too.it was also my favorite song when it came out. i still love it Sept. 2024.
Sorry about the loss of your dad...and where are you from if you don't mind me asking
I feel you girl, my parents listened to this alot, they're still here with us but they're getting old and I'm gonna miss them. This song reminds me of when I was little.
I also just found out that there’s an original lol i heard this song from CAS
The older you get the more you realize country music fits your life more than any other type of music. This song reminds me of my mommas old red ford expedition she had growing up and would play her country jams and i was always like wtf is this, now here i am. 20-25years later with my own family playin these same old jams in my car, while my kids sing along with some of em.
Yes hit my 30’s and that’s all I listen to😊
The song is about your wife leaving or vice versa bud not your childhood
@@DaGravy it reminds me of my childhood because nostalgia, I know what the songs about.i listen to it...
I laughed at your username
That's beautiful
Brooks & Dunn are Legends.. Absolutely love their music..It certainly touches your heart..Makes me think of that special someone in my life..❤
I love everything that Brooks & Dunn has ever done !!❤
Beautiful song, I love it and listen to it all the time I sing it too and I'm 74. Thank you Brooks and Dunn
Just saw them last night in Toledo and they haven’t lost a step. Fantastic show, class acts, both of them. Nothing but good things to say about Brooks & Dunn.
That's great!😊
My daughter got to be the one go on stage and dance with Kix at the end of a concert she attended in Vegas! I was so jealous!
Good for you. I am 80 and would love to see them...I would be the old lady swaying to the music.

I wasn't a huge fan of country when I was younger but I definitely have grown to love it. This is a great song in general!
Same here brother, takes a lil life experience to understand the melodies.
It’s a wonderful thing when a good guy gets a good woman and when a good woman gets a good man.
Wow that's great on you and it's good to have a wonderful woman that is honest too 😮
kills me makes me cry every time but since my lady passed away i just keep on playing it i love it xxx
Never gets old!
Always thinking of my uncle Gilbert 🙏may his soul rest in peace 🕊️
I used to listen to this song after I lost my husband 30 years ago. This is the first time I've listened to it since then. Still makes me cry!😢😢😢
You are in my prayers, as is he.

Wow. I thought this was a newer song.

Heard this song for the first time the other night and was completely blown away. Did not grow up listening to country music but now a fan. Great beat and melody.
Country lives on thru this song..here's a cold one for all my fellow brothers and sisters who know the neon moon 🌗
One of the Greatest Duos in Real Country Music, Brooks and Dunn, I have listened to from start of their careers.
This is my favorite song they sing! I think I have listened to this song at least 50 times and I am not ashamed to admit it! Real country music ladies and gentlemen in my opinion!
It reminds me of the movie “ urban Cowboy”!! There on my bucket list! 🤞🏽🙏🏾
Is there a better 90's country song? I highly doubt it
I've played piano for 60 years. Played in top 40 rock bands back in the 80s ,piano bars and I think this is one of best songs I've ever heard. Right from the heart.
0:07 Love Ronnie Dunn ❤
I grew up on 80's and 90's metal and rock but this is legendary country music. Love it.
Same here! Metal and rock is what I listen to the most but songs like these are my guilty pleasures
Yes, same. Old rocker here but this is my all time favorite country song.
By far one of the greatest songs ever recorded
I remember being under the Texas night sky wit a fire going listening to this song drinking a few with friends reminiscing of the younger years. This song was sooo calming and sad at the same time knowing we will never get those times back but I am glad I made those choices. Thanks Ronnie and kix
When he sings the word blue I melt. So perfect
Ronnie Dunn you did it again best country music artist ...great song!!
The anniversary of my mom in law died on her 61 birthday last year around this time. This was her favorite song to dance with our Pa. Rest in Peace Tammy I always think of you and our fun times and fun conversations. We will all gather together in heaven when we are all united one day under a Neon Moon.
aww that so sweet im sorry about your mother and law, god bless you and your family!
Crying to your story
Hi dear, I was on my scrolling mode when I saw your comment and was moved to send a text to you hope you don't find it pestering..?
I used to do country dancing for my whole life when I was younger and spent most of my time dancing this with my grandmother. She passed in 2014 and this song always makes me really sad but happy reminding me of the memories we used to have. Such a beautiful song ❤️
Tonight a man told me this song has been on his mind lately. So here I am listening to it and wishing that man was with me right now.
Here's to grandmother's everywhere
I lost my grandma too. I miss being on her ranch. I dont go out there too much because it hurts with so many memories. My uncles oversee the ranch now and ask me to come out there but i cant do it.
🥺🥺
So sorry
After six years of being alienated from my son this song resonates with me. Fighting parental alienation and trying to regain a mother and son relationship we win! I’m so thankful that they didn’t break us! I love you Colten! Your mom loves you so much!
Hello Rhonda... how are you doing?
Hi! How are you... I hope you’re having a great day today?
Hi! How are you... I hope you’re having a great day today?
I’ve been getting into old country, and I am NOT disappointed. ❤
Country definitely peaked in the 90s/00s, glad i got to grow up with it
country music will never fade. it has a tendency of taking you back to the olden days, it lifts your spirit, it's real and will always be evergreen, You're a real fan.
Agree 100%. This pop-country nowadays doesn't hold up to these classics.
@@PSSKYWALKER_- I’m a huge fan of older country music 100%, but I do like Luke Combs and Bailey Zimmerman a lot.
This song is pure nostalgia. My childhood man, my childhood 🥺❤️
My Dad was a musician and played in multiple bands all throughout my life and he sang this song at many a gig's.
This one's for you Dad ❤️
It's not the same without you.
I’m so sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss 😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏😞
Lyrics😍
When the sun goes down on my side of town
That lonesome feeling comes to my door
And the whole world turns blue
There's a rundown bar 'cross the railroad tracks
I got a table for two way in the back
Where I sit alone and think of losing you
I spend most every night
Beneath the light
Of a neon moon
Now if you lose your one and only
There's always room here for the lonely
To watch your broken dreams
Dance in and out of the beams
Of a neon moon
I think of two young lovers running wild and free
I close my eyes and sometimes see
You in the shadows of this smoke-filled room
No telling how many tears I've sat here and cried
Or how many lies that I've lied
Telling my poor heart she'll come back someday
Oh, but I'll be alright
As long as there's light
From a neon moon
Oh, if you lose your one and only
There's always room here for the lonely
To watch your broken dreams
Dance in and out of the beams
Of a neon moon
Jukebox plays on, drink by drink
And the words of every sad song seem to say what I think
And its hurt inside of me, ain't never gonna end
Oh, but I'll be alright
As long as there's light
From a neon moon
Oh, if you lose your one and only
There's always room here for the lonely
To watch your broken dreams
Dance in and out of the beams
Of a neon moon
Come watch your broken dreams
Dance in and out of the beams
Of a neon moon
Oh, watch your broken dreams
Dance in and out of the beams
Of a neon moon😍
Thank you 😊
Thank you!❤
Some of the most beautiful lyrics of a song I’ve ever seen
Thank you!
The best guitar solo in country music!
Real music. Well done .
This is a country song with the structure of an r&b song.
This song makes me think about my dad so much. I miss having a rock like him right behind me at all times.
I DEDICATE THIS SONG TO ALL THE ONES LISTENING TO THIS SONG.
IT'S NOT EASY GOING THROUGH A HEART ACHE. 2024 STILL LISTENING TO THIS SONG!!! 🎧🎧🎤🎚️🎛️

This is a masterpiece beginning to end in every way and everyone can relate.

Such a timeless classic song. I'll love it always.
