THIS IS WHERE THE COWBOY RIDES AWAY I knew the stakes were high right from the start When she dealt the cards I bet my heart Now I just found a game that I can't play and this is where the cowboy rides away And my heart is sinking like the setting sun setting on the things I wish I'd done It's time to say goodbye to yesterday and this is where the cowboy rides away [ guitar ] We've been in and out of love and in between And now we've played the final showdown scene As the credits roll the sad song starts to play this is where the cowboy rides away And my heart is sinking like the setting sun setting on the things I wish I'd done Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say this is where the cowboy rides away Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say this is where the cowboy rides away
My marriage of 30 years ended not long ago, and this was the song I listened to driving away from the courthouse. You can’t save someone from themselves and have to save yourself. Beautiful, sad song that’s so true
My brother in law Jerry lost his battle with heart disease at the age of 44 on 4/24/24, this song reminds me of him and the heartache it’s caused our family. Rest in Peace Jerry💔
I think this song means . I knew the risks right from the start when she showed her hand . I opened my heart but now I'm faced with a situation that I can't handle . This is a moment when the cowboy leaves and my heart feels heavy like the the sun going down and casting a light on missed chances . Its time to say goodbye to the past . We've gone through the highs and lows of love , but now we're at the end . As the sad song plays and the credits roll , the cowboy makes his exit , saying the final farewell is always the hardest . This is where the cowboy rides away . This song really gets to me , as it shows that the game was clear from the start . When she showed her hand , I took a risk by putting my heart out there only to find myself in losing situation and the cowboy leaving . My heart feels heavy thinking about what could have been its time to move on from the past and look ahead . Our love story has its ups and downs , and now we're at the final scene . The cowboy is the type to leave before things get too complicated . I'm left with regrets and thoughts of what could have been if I held on tighter . With the cowboy gone , I feel like I've let go the best part of my life . I realized the risk were big from the start when she showed her hand I put my heart on the line only to find myself in a game I couldn't win . This marks the moment when the cowboy leaves and my heart feels heavy like the setting sun setting on missed opportunities . Its time to say goodbye to the past as the cowboy rides away . Our relationship has been a rollercoaster and we won't reach the final scene with a sad tune playing and the credits rolling . Saying goodbye is tough , but its time for the cowboy to go . With a heavy heart full of regret , I realize I should have cherished her more and listened to my own feelings . I've let go of the best part of my life and the cowboy has disappeared . The Cowboy Rides Away

THIS IS WHERE THE COWBOY RIDES AWAY
I knew the stakes were high right from the start
When she dealt the cards I bet my heart
Now I just found a game that I can't play
and this is where the cowboy rides away
And my heart is sinking like the setting sun
setting on the things I wish I'd done
It's time to say goodbye to yesterday and
this is where the cowboy rides away
[ guitar ]
We've been in and out of love and in between
And now we've played the final showdown scene
As the credits roll the sad song starts to play
this is where the cowboy rides away
And my heart is sinking like the setting sun
setting on the things I wish I'd done
Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say this is where the cowboy rides away
Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say
this is where the cowboy rides away
Thank you
This song is one of the most beautiful ... but it feels like a stab deep in the heart.

So beautiful. i can feel it in my heart 😊
My marriage of 30 years ended not long ago, and this was the song I listened to driving away from the courthouse. You can’t save someone from themselves and have to save yourself. Beautiful, sad song that’s so true
Love this song so much, even more i just lost my dad Saturday and it's hurting me but I'm going make it through it
This is where the cowboy rides awayy
Great two step song!
Oww! All night..
My brother in law Jerry lost his battle with heart disease at the age of 44 on 4/24/24, this song reminds me of him and the heartache it’s caused our family. Rest in Peace Jerry💔
That’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing a great memory with us
GOD BLESS I PRAY HE IS HOME IN HEAVEN
Jerry's OK
God bless your family and close friends of your family too

Love this song it and very special the man sing it very good and we both of us we ride away .

I have listened and been a fan of George Strait since 2001 and I did The Cowboy Rides Away when I got inducted in drama club and I felt the same way when I saw George Strait live in St. Louis Mo, when he closed the old astrodome in Houston Texas and when he did it at his final concert during The Cowboy Rides Away Tour and I said after I finished the song This was a tribute to my hero Mr George Strait
my gramps recently passed.. this song will forever remind me of him😞

Love the Strait comeback!
U.S. Army Infantry 11 bang bang! Appreciate ya
just got connected to u tube a few months ago, when i heard this song it reminded me of my late husband who also rode away, miss hin everyday
This song and “Let’s fall to pieces together and “This is where the cowboy rides away “ are my top three favorites
This song reminds me of my recent retirement. It’s difficult to suddenly stop working when you’ve done it for 50 years but you have to decide to just ride away.
Love George strait

I grew up with George Strait. From the time I was in first grade and still a fan to this time. I can't give up this amazing music at all! He is an idol of mine I looked up to since I was a little kid. And I will still look up to him forever and ever
And where are we located?
Love his music, heard he was kind of a snob to the public.
