What do you mean by you seem useless and bad? Is that how you view yourself or is that how other people view you? If it's the latter then you should not concern yourself with how little other people know about you. Threw some people you might be a hero to other people you might be a complete asshole. And both of those people can be absolutely right about you. Only you know who you truly are and what your value is.

I can't listen to this without crying. I lost my husband to cancer nearly 7 years ago. We were married for 38 years and loved one another so deeply that it nearly killed me after he was gone. I had always hoped and beleived that we'd last until our 90s and would dance on our 60th wedding anniversary to this song. But it wasn't meant to be. I love him with all my heart and always will. I'll never find another love as true as ours.

My husband was a singer and did country shows on the weekends locally. This song was "our song" he sang it to me and danced with me while performing. He passed away in 2014 from pancreatic cancer, we would have just celebrated our 25th anniversary on December 23, 2019. Luckily I have CD's of all the songs he sang and can listen to his voice still. I miss him so very much.

I just watched him sing this song to his wife for their 50th wedding anniversary just a few days ago. Had to come back and watch this again after that. The sound is the same. The sentiment was even better on stage when singing to his wife. Lucky lady she is indeed. Finally bought the movie a couple weeks ago so I always have it. Mine too. And that’s saying something because he has sooo many good songs! But this one always touches me. I can never hear the “and if along the way…” bridge without getting tears in my eyes.
