FYI, chemical burns can take years or decades to fully heal. As a young teen I burnt the end of my fingers doing a cleaning job. They did not fully heal until I was 27. So be careful folks! (Note: I got chemical burns from doing house keeping with people who were unqualified to train me)

58:25 My parents are boomers and oddly enough don't seem to have an issue with this, but when *I* hear loud SA on the TV from something they're watching it freaks me the fuck out. I'm not someone who has experienced that kind of violence so I always feel like I'm overreacting when I'm angrily uncomfortable at the vivid assault sounds, I feel very validated that I'm not the only one who thinks "This doesn't have to be in the movie."
Back in the early 2010s kids were apparently choking themselves to get high as a challenge. Let me tell you, my mother FREAKED OUT when she got the letter they sent to every parent in the school just as an awareness thing. She was convinced I was doing it and I wasn't allowed to lock my door or have any belts in my room for like two years.
Random fact about the Saltine challenge (kinda): A similar challenge was done in the 1970s with one of the originals casts of the kids show Zoom. The main difference was that the kids had to eat as many crackers as they could, and then whoever could whistle first won. Weird to think how such a choking hazard was seen as an innocent game on a children's show.

Love the show! I just had a question- when you guys show a picture or clip, it’s hard to see it on that back tv screen. Probably my fault since I watch on my phone. But would it be possible to instead display it on the whole screen? Thanks love ya bye!
55:00 or so: I think the show "evil" on prime (it was originally on tv but idk if it was cancelled and picked up by amazon or if it got 2 seasons initially) deals with the concept of "is this mental illness or is it a demon?" pretty well. there's a team of 3: a priest (mike colter aka luke cage), an ex-catholic therapist, and an atheist handyman (to recognize external factors like co2 poisoning, certain types of hinges, etc). it's a trial run of having such a team investigate supposed possessions. the premise was that it was the priest's idea; false claims of possession could hurt real people because genuine catholic exorcisms are excruciating experiences. he pitched it as saving resources by dropping the false cases from the books. i remember a sociopath boy, an abused wife (munchausen by proxy), and an episode where there was something in the shower head/pipes that made a whole family hallucinate. i've only seen the first season though, and it IS terrifying. the therapist is either having a breakdown or she and her 4 daughters are being taunted by a demon. it's still not clear from the season 1 finale
i remember my friends and i thought we had just caused the inevitable destruction of the world as we know it, while playing charlie charlie in elementary school. we chanted, the pencil moved to yes, the wind picked up, and it immediately started poring. instead of just coming to the rational conclusion that weather is unpredictable and wind moves pencils, we all agreed we had summoned a demon into our school and this was how our lives were going to be now.
Wait did you guys seriously NOT have a choking “challenge”???? A kid in my middle school DIED because a kids would play chicken basically on who could choke themselves the longest. Our home room teacher legitimately had to have a serious talk with us about how this game is banned and dangerous 😶😶😶
Can't believe I'm going to admit it, but when I was 9/10 & my cousin was 10/11, we played the "choking game". (She's ok, now) She *passed out* & hit her head on the side of her bed 😭🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ She was ok, but it took her a minute to gain consciousness & in the meantime I thought I killed my cousin 😭 Why are we so dumb as kids?? Thank god she was alright!! I'm 35 now, btw. So this was around 96/97? I can't math rn 😅
Me and my siblings would have one of us lay on the bed and the other two would put a pillow over their head and sit on it until they almost passed out. We also sat in an old tire and pushed it down the CONCRETE stairs outside our house complex. it was a big flight of stairs too. We're lucky the closest we got to death was when my brother ripped his tongue off a frozen pole and had a burn mark for a few days. It's actually scary how many kids have died/almost died doing stupid stuff without understanding how dangerous it is
Listened to this while in the hospital with COVID, y’all are so funny I was coughing instead of laughing because it’s all my body will do. Love you guys
A family friend had ALS when the Ice Bucket Challenge was a thing; she passed away from the disease a few years ago though sadly. The challenge actually raised millions of dollars for ALS research and also helped raise awareness for the disease as well. ALS is a degenerative disease that actually spreads vertically throughout the body; our family friend lived for a few years with ALS because it started at her feet whereas my grandma passed away a little over a year after she developed the disease because it started with her head. Super weird and terrible disease but the Ice Bucket challenge was extremely helpful in bringing in funds and awareness about ALS.
I did the kylie jenner lip challenge when i was younger and i still to this day have a faint purple line under my lower lip from the edge of the glass.
Listening to the salt and ice challenge was wild bc when we were in primary school in Australia, all through summer on hot days we would sit in a circle on black concrete that was hot enough to cook things, and see who could hold their hands down the longest. We would come home with raw, bloody, blistering skin for literally no reason except we were bored. And like nobody told us to do that, we just came up with it ourselves. It was totally voluntary. People would literally so rather be in pain than be bored, and like we had tamagotchis ready to go! Wtf!
My whole middle school did the Harlem shake on video and the vice principal was the one who started us off by dancing on top of a lunchroom table and as soon as the beat dropped she face-planted off the table and she made us redo the entire thing 🤣💀
“the belt challenge” joke is actually scarily real. i forget what it was called but the challenge was LITERALLY have ur friend put you in a choke hold and go until you are about to pass out. i remember it got on the news at one point for literally killing a kid
Watching this a year later and being reminded about Colleen being friends with Ariana... makes me think Ariana mighta been on that train and got THE F*** OFF LMAO.
Exorcisms aren't just a "back in the day" thing for what is actually mental illness. I live in the midwest and personally know two people who's parents blamed what their kid was going through on demons. One was a trans woman and the other had a schizophrenic disorder. When the latter was a teen their parents tried to get an exorcism done on them and the only thing that stopped them was the hospital staff because the friend was in the hospital for an attempted self unaliving. It's very much still a thing unfortunately
SARAH i also chewed on my hair as a kid and i've never met anyone else who did too lmao. a couple years ago my mom was talking about it saying i did it when any changes occurred or i seemed to be worried about something....turns out, i had an undiagnosed anxiety disorder since like age 4 and that was probably the first sign but she acted like it was normal💀

I did the salt and ice challenge with my best friend, but my mom switched my salt for sugar without me knowing…which led my friend and I to be even more competitive when she saw that I had no reaction. Long story short, my friend was hospitalized for 2nd degree burns. Thanks mom 😅
I recently learned from a medium on tiktok that ghosts can and do change their outfits. It’s a manifestation of energy, so they just manifest in the way they want to appear.
So many "paranormal" phenomenons were really just people being mentally or physically ill. Epilepsy is one example of before people knew what it was they thought the person was either possessed or a changeling.
When I was in 7th grade, these kids were playing Charlie Charlie right next to me as I was trying to work on my biology assignment. i have something similar with this floor cleaner, forgot tbe brand name but it's bright pink and it looks like bubble gum juice and even as an 18 year old im compelled to chug it
fabuloso is in italy too! 8 year old me was so shocked when my parents finally bought it and used it as floor cleaner... it became a core memory lmao
Wait we have fabuloso in NYS too, we used that alllll the time 🫣
my grandpa used to use that, and GOD IT LOOKED SO DELICIOUS
You just made me remember how fabuloso reminds me of the smell of baking bread.

Unintentionally burping in unison with Brittany while watching the podcast is probably one of my proudest moments.
As it should be
When I was 16 & my cousin was 17 she brought home a new boy to Christmas. His party trick was the cinnamon challenge, or so he thought. As soon as he put the cinnamon in his mouth he threw up all over my grandparents living room floor, in front of the entire family.

I was in uni and always worrying about what would happen after graduating (for work). The dreams stopped once I graduated and started working. It'll get better Brittany!
I remember the chokehold that the tide pods had on my middle school. Omfg, we had 5 assemblies in ONE month that was a bunch of adults telling us “hey maybe DONT eat tide pods”

Ariana wasn't a "youtuber", she started on Broadway and Nickeloden and was friends with Colleen through that! She posted videos during her Victorious days from her PhotoBooth stuff and eventually just appeared with Colleens stuff until she got busy! Cause Colleen vlogged so frequently and she was constantly hanging out with Ariana, they always appeared together. ❤️

salt makes water boil slower!!! not faster! it changes the melting and boiling point of ice and water. sarah said that with so much confidence though
Huh, I've been doing this for so long and anecdotally have found that it gets the water to boil sooner, but maybe its all in my head lol

Talking about the don’t judge me challenge, and how it’s a glow up thing. I hated in middle/early high school when people would post a “glow up” and it was really just them aging and going through puberty. Like no shit you looked awful at 14 we all did.
I think the 11:20 "Choking challenge" is real thing. I remember like 20 years ago, when I was a wee lass, I saw my older sister's friends strangle her. I think they were trying to get high via oxygen deprivation.🥺

FYI, chemical burns can take years or decades to fully heal. As a young teen I burnt the end of my fingers doing a cleaning job. They did not fully heal until I was 27. So be careful folks! (Note: I got chemical burns from doing house keeping with people who were unqualified to train me)
Not even a minute in, and holy shit! I'm so happy to hear that y'all are going live! Unfortunately, I'm p sure I live too far away to go, but still! Congrats, you two!
So happy to hear yall are doing a live show!
I need like a whose line is it anyway type of show from you guys! The energy is perfect for that! Yall are killing it! 💕🤟
It was like the Knife game. Everyone was just challenging each other to it except that was beyond dangerous.
Is that when you'd stab a knife in between your fingers as your hand was laying on a table?

I remember doing the salt and ice challenge in high school with my friends and we have square shaped scars on our hands till this day.
i remember my friends and i thought we had just caused the inevitable destruction of the world as we know it, while playing charlie charlie in elementary school.
we chanted, the pencil moved to yes, the wind picked up, and it immediately started poring.
instead of just coming to the rational conclusion that weather is unpredictable and wind moves pencils, we all agreed we had summoned a demon into our school and this was how our lives were going to be now.
Wait did you guys seriously NOT have a choking “challenge”???? A kid in my middle school DIED because a kids would play chicken basically on who could choke themselves the longest. Our home room teacher legitimately had to have a serious talk with us about how this game is banned and dangerous 😶😶😶
this happened to children my age as well, growing up in the early 2000's. i think it was just called the choking "game" which is fucked up
Can't believe I'm going to admit it, but when I was 9/10 & my cousin was 10/11, we played the "choking game".
It's actually scary how many kids have died/almost died doing stupid stuff without understanding how dangerous it is
Excuse me what

I want Brittany & Sarah on Cold Ones with Chad & Max.

Yeah fr it still happens today 😩

They were being loud and annoying, and since they huddled to watch, they kept pushing and hitting me.
I got so fed up that when they went, "Charlie Charlie are you there," I gently blew onto the pencil without them noticing, moving it to YES.
They went apeshit, and they all got detention from yelling and tripping on desks.
