Yessss the 2014 era. Collabs, Challenges, Hauls and crossovers with the American UA-camrs (Colleen Ballinger, Mamrie Hart, Tyler Oakley etc)
YESSS
Omg a great topic!
i would eat this up omg
PLEASEEE ZOELLA TEAA
brittany can actually sing pretty well and i would unironically listen to her music💀
same!!!!!
absolutely agree
I agree because we all know that she would put out something of quality if she decided to do music. She wouldn’t put out a cringy product for the quick buck.
Yeah and everyone knows it would be fucking incredible her music taste is 10/10
Do you think she'd put a fast noise in *at least* one of her songs?
it's just hit me that I've been listening to this every Monday for 25 WEEKS?!?!!?!
Stop you’re hurting my brain ?!?!,!!? How has it been that long I refuse
i haven’t ever committed to something for that long. not even my anti depressants, god
damn
@@eternallustformedusa4844 this podcast is now the anti depressant lol
wtf dude
HUH
Personally I think Troye Sivan is the perfect example of going from social media to making music, he got it 100% right
cardi was on vine and then won music awards
I agree, also people forget Shawn Mendes was a Magcon boy (from vine) and is now an industry respected pop star.
@@tsamuelsmusic That's true I even completely forgot about that which is credit to him
And Conan!
@@Poisonousivie and twitter! her videos and tweets would always ago viral
I love the new studio. It’s giving ✨headaches✨
Giving me military hearing test vibes
it really makes watching unpleasant
This podcast is my hit of cocaine that gets me through the week. I will watch and re watch and listen to this podcast while im drawing, studying, doing chores, and sleeping. I like this podcast a normal amout i swear.
Same
same ! and its like an addiction like i want more of this
first 7 words are exactly what i think modern day beidou would say about something she loves. and honestly, same.
literally every monday im manically refreshing waiting for the upload to pop up. it’s the only good thing about monday and i NEEEEED it
DEADASS literally once a week i can actually get chores done
Boomer Facebook groups would be a gold mine for an episode
Yes I want that so much, boomer FB kills me the most out of anything in the world
Yes!
YESSS! i would looove this!
What makes a facebook group boomer? 😅
@@aleesiauh those impact font political memes
Brittany’s impression of tana’s songs are SO spot on hahahaha
You guys should make an episode on the music from 2010s time where parents could basically pay a studio to let their kid sing and be in a music video. Think Rebecca black, jenna rose (my jeans) etc. We would have sleepovers in middle school and just binge-watch those for hours, and now a lot of those videos have been deleted and are either lost or re-uploaded by others
Who would’ve ever thought that Rebecca black would blossom into a really great artist lmao
OMG LIKE PATRICE WILSON THEY NEED TO DO AN EPISODE ON THIS😭😭😭😭
P L E A S E
WE STAN REBECCA BLACK CHILL OUT BRUH
I love chinese fooooooooooood you know that it's truuuuuuuuuuuuue
me and my eye disorder girlies going audio only from now on😭
FOR REAL i literally can’t look at the screen
Yes! I have to unfocus my eyes! Too many lines all over the place. The white was very neutral, the wood is very intense
They had the worst podcast set with the best content. Rip.
I started watching this yesterday and got in a multiple vehicle car accident…it wasn’t me or the videos fault but all I could hear as I was dazed and confused was brittany cackling in the background
OMG i hope you’re ok
Lmaoooo wth. Sorry, by also damn.
The new studio here is giving me Bee Larry King interview vibes from the Bee movie and we love it
just kidding it looks NOTHING like bee larry king’s set lmao i only thought of bee larry king because it was black and yellow but whatever we still love the bee movie
@@caleboop1814 ya like jazz?
this is my niche
Any excuse to Stan that freaking bee!
That was one of my favorite scenes from this movie LMAO
“How did they crucify him if he was a baby?!” Took me tf out
A tiny cross
The king really did want him dead tho
Literally dude had beef with a kid not even born yet 😂😂
I would LOVE an episode on adults online (like trying to keep up with the youths or attempting to do social media)!!! I think it would be so funny to have people submit funny things they’ve seen or that their older friends and family members have done online bc holy shit have I seen some funny things from adults on the internet
Yes please! Like we’ve seen the Millennials vs Gen Z on Sarah’s channel, but I would LOVE to see the opposite. I want to see Millennials, Gen X and boomers who are trying to keep up. Some are actually good, but oh boy do a lot give off “how do you do fellow kids” vibes
No disrespect but that just sounds like bullying :/ not as fun to watch
Should be more like “middle aged adults” online or something I think, since I’m technically an adult (24) and I know what’s going on and am chronically online xD
At risk of getting called a SJW, this just seems like ageism to me. Cringe is dead, no?
I watched this whole thing with my lights off and turned my lights on and everything had lines 😭😭😭
nooooo😭😭😭
you guys staying in this studio for long, my eyes can't handle itttt 👀
SAME i literally can’t look at the screen
It makes them look yellow? Idk what’s going on 😳 the lines too Jesus
Same!! Too busy 😭
I got in the car and it blasted “I had been wearing a butt plug so the poop just fell out” in the parking lot of my corporate job
i wasnt convinced the wall was real until they pointed out. the below the desk part thing is so painful lmfao
I rather see a studio with y'all decor on the walls and that screams who you guys are. Or go back to the couch lol. Y'all could be in the bathroom and I will still watch. That's how good these episodes are lol 😆
I love to watch this pod as well as listen and this shit fucking hurts my eyes. I agree
They don’t own this studio space! It’s owned by the company that produces this podcast (they also produce the bald and the beautiful, Trixie and Katya’s podcast) so the studio space’s decor isn’t up to them!
I love that every 5 years or so there becomes a new thing that influencers HAVE to release. Like in the 2013 it was books and movies, in 2018 it was makeup lines but somehow it’s always expected for influencers to come out with bad music no matter what the year is lol
why did i I think you were going in a completely direction with that comment and say now it’s podcasts LMAO
lmao v true
@@roxypicasso66 I mean… u right but I didn’t wanna shade Brittany and Sarah lol
i think some of it might be management companies, i think drew gooden mentioned that a bunch of youtubers were going on tour around the same time because of that
traditional belly dancing is done by women with bigger bellies! the jiggling is what makes it so attractive and mesmerizing!
Totally! It’s called *belly* dancing and not flat stomach dancing for a reason✨ I’m sure she didn’t mean it in a bad way, but hearing her say that made me sad :/
Woah I didn’t know that! That’s really fascinating seeing as it’s pushed as this thing for smaller sized people (at least that’s who I see most often on media). Thank you for saying this, now I’ve learned a new thing today :)
@@jadentheenby1753 same, im sure it’s because of what she’s frequently seen online and not much else but i guess it goes back to unrealistic beauty standards that has gotten worse due to short form content like tiktok which also pushes very attractive people to the top (which also includes flat stomachs)
I love this podcast so much because the conversations always take a huge turn to something that is completely opposite of what they were first talking about. They really went from Influencers Music to Giving Birth, I love it. lmao. Love you Brittany and Sarah !💚💚💚
Not very far in, can't wait to see how this happens
When Sarah said “She’s camp rocking there” and air drummed I knew exactly the scene she was doing 😂
As a theater kid I can firmly say, anyone can sing, anyone can perform, but not everyone is built for it. Not every is creative enough for it and not everyone can appreciate it enough
Is this a soft launch announcement of Brittany’s singing career ? 🙌💕
👀👀👀
I strongly dislike the new studio, but I love y’all!
same, i don’t like the old one either, there living room in the zillow gone wild series stays superior
I think Bella poarch is super interesting bc she was super famous on TikTok for just making faces and people called her untalented. Then it turned out she could actually sing and has released pretty good music so far. The way she shifted to music was pretty cool.
I agree ! i used to dislike her bc of the way she got famous but once I heard her music I ended up liking her lol
Shaq is a DJ 😂😂😂😂 he’s actually pretty decent for someone who didn’t start in music 😂 he’s got stage presence for sure
He is!! I saw him at a festival! He did come in the crowd but luckily not to mosh hahahaha
yes!!!!! Shaq is the goat and loves the edm community so much! An amazing talented guy
Aw I always wish these were longer, you girls are hilarious. That new set is wild though, it really does hurt the eyes 😆.
My favorite parts about the VCG podcast is that the topics are just light suggestions, I say after a 20 minute conversation about child birth 😂
Sarah standing up for Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam is giving me the will to live
same bro i feel represented lmao
1:11:57 its crazy how Brittany talks about how our society revolving around the media today will be studied because it's true and already happening! i study media studies and already we talk about how influencers are the new celebrities, para social relationships, marketing schemes and fandoms. This entire podcast not only is comedic but is also genuinely educational.
I have a legitimate answer to who the Lady Gaga of the Middle Ages was. I took a Middle Ages Literature class and we spent a lot of time talking about Marie de France. Her Lais are written to be sung so you could call them songs, just very long ones.
I came here for this!
This looks like a Zillow Gone Wild room
brittany’s last burp literally woke up my sleeping cat
I'm convinced Sarah and Brittany are in an underground apocalypse bunker.
they’re at sarah’s parents house
I tend to disassociate when I'm visually overstimulated so I'm very thankful there are audio versions available. Keep up the great work y'all! Off I goooo..
Samesies 🙌
Brittany and Sarah clipped through reality into the backrooms 💀
troye sivan was the blueprint for youtuber to musician pipeline. he even keeps up w the musician x influencer persona on tiktok and shit posts like doja cat and lil nas x. kind of surprised he wasn’t mentioned!
I was going to say the same thing! He’s the earliest person I can think of for the UA-camr to musician thing who was actually talented too
It's so funny that the comments section is people hating the studio. It reminds me of the comments on The Bald And The Beautiful when they'd film there instead of Trixie's place.
But also I agree, I'm not into this new studio setup. And seeing how much it bothers Sarah makes me not like it more.
I love when Sarah says something crazy out of nowhere and it's zoomed in on her face then it zooms out and brittany is dying laughing
I came from the wood panelling related announcement and my GOD the funniest part of the first 10 seconds of this episode was realizing how BAD it actually is, it's giving lecture hall or band practice room
"In your little lizard brains." Sent me, you guys are the only ads I really sit through 🤣
At one point Brittany was talking and her voice was just slightly different and I just thought to myself 'oh shes gonna burp' and then she let it rip. I love that for us
Okay, but like, DJ Diesel (aka Shaq) is a great DJ! And Paris Hilton is also really fun as a DJ. LOL
Cousins- the new setup is giving me an aneurysm with all these vertical stripes-
Disney is huge on this as well, they have been constantly trying to produce the next Selena Gomez and Ariana grande for years by pushing music onto young Disney stars
So actually I’m glad you brought up DJ Diesel aka Shaq because he came to my school and did a concert and he had a full song where it was his voice over EDM music going “IM COMING IN THE MOSH PIT” and he did, in fact, come in the mosh pit and I had a broken foot in a boot and got stampeded to the floor.
one time a guy i was talking to tried to convince me that vin diesel had good music and admitted to listening to him regularly. i ghosted him shortly after
I, completely unironically, have a playlist to listen to while driving that is 90% tiktok music. It's catchy and I know the words so it helps with my driving anxiety. edit: This room looks like you're filming in the store room of a s*x dungeon. Love you both
I love how it went from tiktoker music to breastfeeding 💀💀
I mean that is the next pipeline I fear will be in the making
hey guys just wanted to pop in and say, having belly fat is actually better for belly dancing!🤤(if you mean what i think about when belly dancing is mentioned) love ya both!
I feel like y'all would slay a facebook mom episode
FRR
i'm sure it's too late for this to be helpful, but re: sarah getting their autism diagnosis, i live in the u.s. and am currently doing mine through telehealth with a canadian psychologist! it's still taking just as long and it's a ton of money but it's closer to like $2k
Studying music history is finally useful! The Lady Gaga of the middle ages was definitely Hildegard von Bingen, a nun and prophet who wrote a bunch of musical dramas for the church. She was probably allowed to do this because she suffered migraines with auras that she claimed were revelations to her from god.
I would really love to hear a topic about gamer girls with the super cute set-up where almost everyone has the same type of content being put out- showing their snacks, showing their keyboards, and products being sent out by companies without disclosing that they're ads. I have a friend that does this and I heard that kind of community is kind of toxic. Everyone has the same things- same keyboards, same cup, almost the same set-up, same stuffed toys, etc- but everyone seems to be jealous of each other especially when they get a brand deal. I've always been weirded out about this because the consumerism is just mind-boggling. I just don't get how you need 30 different keyboards. How do they even clean everything? 😭
or honestly just twitch as a platform because it's really changing online interactions and how people earn incomes. Gamer girls especially do get the brute end of the jokes and hate; it used to be a 30 yr old man in his parents basement and now its a 20 something girl in pink cat ear headphones
@@rafranceschi gosh, I did stream for a while, and I always get trolls who say stupid things. Thank god I wasn't using face cam or they would've trolled me more.
Shaq aka diesel is actually VERY successful in the edm scene. He’s a pretty talented dj. I just bought vip red rocks tickets just because Shaqs the main opener lol. Stoked to see him!
Honey HAS to get rid of the word ‘scouring’ 🤣
I genuinely don't believe that most of the infulencers that make music like this don't have the amount of monthly listeners or listens to a song that Spotify says they do, I feel like most of them buy listens/listeners/bots or whatever, I've never talked to anyone who actually listens to music like this
Who needs bots when your demographic is kids
@@Julia-tz7yc ong when I go back to my old playlists and listen to the songs I used to love, it's just shitty to kinda ok music
It's for sure bots. It's the same for followers. Everyone's had bots from the beginning. Kim K, Barack Obama, Ariana Grande. Their teams buy them for them. Literally.
i wanna talk to whoever picked out that background wall…
i used to be an unironic, deadhard fan of Tana Mongeau. i knew all her shitty music, Deadahh w/Elijah Daniel & Without You were my faves. now the mention of her name brings physical cringe.
omg how did you find yourself liking Tana Mongeau that much😭😭😭
@@isabelateixeira3713 listen, it was pre-treatment, i was hanging out with shitty people and i thought Tana’s behavior was “cool” and “quirky” but i’ve now “atoned for my sins” and am fully reformed 😭 now i just clown on her bc she really is a charicature
Shaq is actually DJ Diesel and he frequently plays EDM festivals and loves joining the crowd when he can to watch other performers 😌 he does also love to mosh
I was so surprised at how hard his sets go!
@@danielmontanelli6168 soooo good and he just loves doing it too he doesn't even take money for the shows he does
OMG the new studio is giving millennial yoga class yasss
i know the studio JUST renovated the background but i think the planks need to be much wider because having them that close together creates a REALLY dizzy effect on camera thats not pleasent to watch because of all the black lines being so close to each other
this studio is a liminal space
I’d really enjoy hearing your perspectives on kpop companies/the industry as a whole.
Omg I'd love that but I would also be SO scared for them after
@@stratosphere94 Yeah that’s true they’d have to do a ton of research before to make sure everything is right. But I still think it’d be an interesting conversation lol
pls no they're gonna get attacked by koreaboos
If they kept it on a more informative level, I think it could work.
Like talking about the dances videos they post on youtube and how they slay, the progression into the western world and the impact it’s had on it, kpop stans (from stan twitter to bts fans booking out that trump rally), the trainee process/how they form the groups, the titles each group member has, the labels and the expectations/rules they have for the idols, and how they run once they’ve made their debut (comeback stages and such).
Idk those are just a few ideas.
They’d have to be sure to be respectful and careful with it, but I think that if anyone could talk about in a way that wouldn’t piss people off, it’s them.
@@kenna9877 Exactly!!! I think they could deliver it In A way that doesn’t seem negative and gossipy but moreso about the process overall
NY best sellers are best sellers for… any period of time lol. It could be put out, have a bunch of hype, and be the top seller for legit a day, but it was still a “top seller” so authors/ publishers say they are. Some obviously last longer than that, but that’s how there are so many, each debut just tops the last regardless of how long
my favourite type of “influencer” music is like kurtis conner, danny gonzales, cody ko style. making a song and music video to relate to a video topic and then releasing the song and music video as their own seperate thing. i enjoy when youtubers do a song here and there more as a a hobby than actively trying to become a singer or gain popularity
This podcast is amazing, you’re both amazing, the walls here though are not it omg. Jokes aside it is actually making me so dizzy and making my eyes cross. I understand it serves a purpose for the sound but good GOD.
Edit to add that I have hearing loss and ADHD so I rely on captions and reading their lips so just listening is not always an option.
this walls... like i cant focus on anything
Same, I keep having to rewind bc my eyes hurt so much I cant focus on the words
The new Background is terrible, I say with love and light.
I always listen to y’all as I’m tryin to go to sleep but end up listening to the whole episode because you crack me up hahahaha😂
i think some of the difference between some of them becoming mucisians vs just tiktokers who sing is the level of effort they actually put into it. like you can tell that a bella porch is taking it much more seriously than an addison rae.
Brittany. Is that milk in a water bottle? 😳
I really see what Sarah is talking about the wall is freaking me out!
Brittany talking about how she thought child birth was like a painful shit reminded me of something my fiancé told me recently.
Basically, one of his tias was pregnant with his cousin and she stopped at a gas station at one point because she had to use the restroom and ended up giving birth to his cousin in the bathroom. Literally, my fiancé calls his cousin a "poop baby" because of it lol 😆
I have worked my whole life to get my music out. I’m 21. And I even went to school and have a degree in music. It’s irritating when someone who isn’t musically talented blow up with music. Or someone be given a handout. Im happy for them, but it’s frustrating when I really work so so hard to it.
The new studio looks like the inside of a small town firehouse
“I gauged my butt” - I love you two more and more each week 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey guys, i just want to thank you both for helping me through so many tough times, you are both such great people, love you!
I fucking love Mondays because of this show 😂 Makes the first day back at work after the weekend is like YAAAAAS VCG whilst I do my makeup!!!! 😁
Yo, official British person here and I get ice in drinks everywhere! Never heard this ice phenomena before, but I bet going forward I'll see it constantly x3 literally can't think of a place that doesnt give ice in drinks, you gotta specifically ask for no ice
i love yall so much so i will endure the headache from the background
Brittany hiding her Tana obsession like "nonono i was watching it ironically!"😤
The walls on this new set are making my eyes go stupid oml 😂 this was a great episode, though! Love that Brittany knew every Tana song lmfaooo
"Wow you're an artist and you refuse to get tik tok?? You're missing out!!! you're just stupid..."
Yeah I tried doing that in 2019/2020 and got harassed by racists and misogynistic ppl. Maybe tik tok is different in 2022 but I'm still scared to get on the app because I don't want it to happen again.
Like it genuinely gave me ED's, internalized racism, internalized texturism, and just tons and tons of self hatred. I really never recovered and realized how much I've grown until recently.
But all in all I'm not going back on tik tok...
I HAVE to have ice. I do not care how made fun of I am for it. I can't drink anything that's not freezing cold💀
I absolutely love this podcast but am I the only one who doesn’t prefer the lines? It’s just so much lines haha
I can’t look at my screen right now 🤣
@@marinaleemeow me neither hahah
Actually very surprised they got through this whole episode without mentioning Joji. The transition he was able to make from his UA-cam persona to his music career can probably never be replicated.
His music is genuinely good, too 😌
PLSSSS DO INFLUENCER SKINCARE / MAKEUP BRANDS
"I'm already cluster B, I can't lean into it more" - I felt that way too hard haha
Shawn Mendes is a good example of this done well, I think. He established that he did music early on, so when he started releasing stuff under a label it was received as a triumph or an expected next step in his career. I think what was shocking about him was how he was able to fully separate himself from his internet background; I'm sure a good amount of people who enjoy his music probably have never seen any of his influencer content.
he also has a foundation that gives money to charities as well as raises money for scholarships that go to innovators and college kids who are majoring in/ doing projects to help the planet! its super cool of him and its actually quite separated from him as well
that midwife joke was HILARIOUS omfg. laughed out loud in my office. thank you!
Wait I was actually confused why so many people had issues with the background until I looked away and omg I was afraid of having a seizure my god… 😂😂😂
if y’all are gonna continue to film in this studio I would humbly ask that u guys paint urself to match the background a la jenna marbles and her chair
“People can drown in 2 inches of water” is such a read💀
you guys need a 'flat Stanley' on set. If you don't know what that is, I definitely just dated myself.
I'm 22 and we did those when I was little lol
I was watching this with my phone so close to my face and then looked away and my wall started moving love the new studio
This might damage your eyes. I have an astigmatism and it’s no fun…
@@megankidd4671 omg I have an astigmatism and I’m like super blind oh no
Brittany’s face in their stock ass thumbnail at this topic sent me. I make that face when I see some “influencer music” too girl.
the speed and urgency when Sarah asked 'single?' 😂😂😂 Britney had barely finished saying the word lesbian 🤣
