- Опубліковано 30 тра 2024
- In the spirit of Halloween, we’ve put together a list of what we think are the spookiest guitar parts of all time. It’s hard to pin down what exactly makes a guitar riff “spooky”, but these all seem to nail the vibe pretty well. The riffs in this lesson go from pretty recognizable to hauntingly obscure, so be ready for a few surprises!
One important thing to note is that a few of these guitar riffs are going to require you to put your guitar into alternate tunings. So make sure you’ve got your tuner handy! You’ll find the necessary tuning information above the sheet music for the relevant songs. All right, Ayla and Kent are in costume, and it’s time to get into the ten spookiest guitar parts of all time!

Ayla has been making waves in the world of guitar playing as a professional guitarist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, since the early age of 14. After only playing for two years, her first UA-cam video (a rendition of John Mayall’s “Hideaway”) put her on the map and kickstarted her music career. She has since been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, become a member of the Ernie Ball and Fender family of artists, and earned various Berklee College of Music scholarships. Musically, Ayla finds great pleasure in exploring the numerous avenues available to her through various styles of music, as seen through her work with Calpurnia and Ludic.

Did we miss one? Let us know what your favorite spooky guitar part is. Happy Halloween!
Monster Mash
ua-cam.com/video/m4akn6e59TQ/v-deo.html Mean Street - Van Halen.
i think call of cthulu is a spookier opening riff than seek & destroy, but it wouldn't be a good beginner lesson
Definitely "Nightmare" from A7X
Hells Bells
Some good ones here! South of Heaven was always one of my favorites.
"Grindhouse", the theme song from the movie Planet Terror it's pretty dark and ominous as well as badass, even though it's so simple
The first one should be the riff from the movie Halloween by John Carpenter, sounds great on guitar.
The best horror theme ever created by far. It makes Michael
Ayla, I give you so much credit for starting with Black Sabbath! Excellent!!
Oh shit, you guys included an Alice in Chains riff. I love Frogs and their self titled album is actually my favorite specifically because something about the full album feels so immersive, dark and refined
Just wanted to say I really enjoyed this video. I've been a Guitareo member since 2018 or '19. I'm currently going through some very difficult things, having lost my mother to dementia, now having to see her getting worse in a nursing home. Playing guitar has always been 'therapeutic," and so if there's any good to this, it's that I have been playing a lot of guitar. I'm seeing lots of great changes at Guitareo, along with some great new instructors and format. Keep up the good work!
boglimised
Thank you again Guitareo for the free membership. I did a few courses this evening, and have yet to fully explore the rest of the website, also downloaded the app as well 👍🏽 once again thank you team guitareo.
So happy to see you do "4th of July"!
"What the Hell have I" by Alice in Chains is v dark sounding imo. For Metallica I'd say "Harvester of Sorrow".
Maybe you could've had a Misfits song too as they're kinda appropriate for Halloween!😁
Another great spooky Slayer riff is Dead Skin Mask
Hall of the Mountaint King would sound great with lots of distortion.
I recently stumbled on to this channel. Love the content so far! You guys have tone for days!
The intro to ‘Martian Boogie’ by Brownsville Station.
Perfect! Thanks for introducing me to Messer Chups. Im a huge Ghost fan and these guys MUST have been an influence. Even saw a member dressed as the Pope. Listen to "Zombie Queen" by them.
This is so fun:)
For Whom The Bell Tolls is super creepy.
I also like Mean Street for getting punched in the face creepiness
How about dream window from The original Fright Night ? By Brad Fiedel, awesome melody and incredibly atmospheric . Great channel 👍😊
I Want You (She's So Heavy) is also pretty spooky! Especially how it just STOPS at the end. SIDE OVER
excellent choice! you are obviously someone of refined taste. the beatles version is quite spooky, but i think halestorm cranked the spook factor up just a tad bit on their cover of it.
Anything by Siouxsie And The Banshees!!!!!
totally spooked out 😁
Some of my favorite spooky riffs would be Nightmare by A7X as well as God is Dead? By Black Sabbath
Great choices and holy shit, Slint!
Obvious answers from me but I think the intro to Rotten Apple and the entire Them Bones guitars by Alice in Chains are superbly haunting
Needs drums.
It's not born as a guitar part but it can be played on guitar too... so I hope it counts as well... My favotite spooky riff is from Goblin's band keyboardist italian maestro Claudio Simonetti on the Profondo Rosso (Deep Red) song which was the main theme of the omonym horror movie... :-)
I read that 4 times and still can't make sense of it.
@@RByrne Just search on YT "Claudio Simonetti Profondo Rosso" and listen to the song... the keyboard part is my fav spooky riff (and is playable on guitar too...) Or better I drop here the link so You don't even have to search for it... :-)
ua-cam.com/video/DYALBw6rjj0/v-deo.html
The Ghastly Ones - Hauling Hearse. Actually, just about anything from The Ghastly Ones.
Where is the AC/DC Hells Bells, its os emotional and dark riff.. it could be Black Sabbath wong but it is dark masterpiece that I like to play the intro over and over again.
Cream is probably the first heavy metal, or the Yardbirds
OOOOOO.....!!
the title song from dead man walking
Dead man not dead man walking.
The Bat by The Ventures
. 😱
Where is Korn?
riff #1 is wrong. he doesn't do the slide the 2nd time, and he doesn't play in that key. the boc riff was indeed the spookier one from that song, great choice. "this one slays" said with that look on your face, was comedy gold.
there are several spooky riffs you could have chosen, but you picked some good ones. you two come off in such a way, it's impossible for you to be scary. even still, good video
Ozzy Osbourne Diary of a Madman and Halloween by Helloween.
