Laptop with access to youtube for endless inspiration and guitar tutorials of all your favourite songs. I'm 53 and only discovered youtube guitar lessons in 2014- I had been playing guitar on and off since I was 18- youtube was a game changer in my guitar journey since in person lessons were impossible.☮☮🖤🖤🎸🎸🎶🎶
Your USB rechargeable tuner does have a battery. It's just rechargeable. But it will degrade in time and use, and no longer be serviceable. Can you change the li-ion battery in that D'Addario tuner? Because there will come a time.
And the guitar stand should be higher on the list, as this is something that will keep your guitar in view, at home, all the time. This is important because if you continue to see your guitar on display, beckoning to be played, then it will be played more often. And there is no better activity to learn guitar than time spent playing it.
If I may include an often overlooked need of guitarists everywhere...the pick/plectrum... NEVER stop exploring different picks as they are the cheapest (sometimes) way to offer different tones. New materials are always being discovered and have the ability to bring out the tones you're hearing in your head😎👍 Great video folks😉😎👍
Guitar stands will make you play. I have kept my guitars on stands for many, many years, and I live in Florida without a problem. Q-tips are helpful for keeping grunge away from your frets without taking strings off.
Haven't played in years so liked the new gadgets. Got a new PRS SE Silver Sky. Bought a little practice amp. Comfortable guitar strap, variety of picks, chord poster, song book with chords shown over lyrics.
That is a great essential list of guitar accessories for beginners. 👍👍👍 I would add a T-Shirt having the same logo as your guitar, so you can look as good as your guitar does and a good song book of easy song arrangements with tabs of one of your favorite bands helps too. 😊
That's a good list for sure and Ayla's right, tuners that require batteries end up lost in a drawer somewhere because they always require some weird watch battery size that no one has; rechargeable is the way to go.
My Polytune Clip tuners take CR2032 batteries which are common and, at ~0.8" in diameter, hardly a "weird watch battery size". I don't like rechargeable batteries because they degrade over time and eventually become useless.
A Peterson Strobe clip on tuner is amazing. A nice strap with strap saver rings or even better, strap locks. Dunlop makes a dual design set that has locks but the buttons still let you use any other strap is you need to. A 1 inch soft hair paint brush is great for dusting your guitar.
The only problem with leaving your guitar out is humidity and temperature in the room. In my case my office is in the basement where I have to keep an eye on both. I have to keep my guitars in their cases. This is something everyone should be aware of.
I would recommend a fret file. Especially if you get a cheaper beginner guitar. Filing down some of those sharp fret ends really makes the guitar feel smoother. Also don't forget an extra set of strings.
Thanks you guys for saying it straight I try to follow along but I am a beginner and some of the songs a to advanced are you offering more toned down songs
I`m "poor",needs to make it.99% impossible to buy anything.Got aBoss Katana Mini 7 watt,"twice the sound as equals".Looked at everything.Thinking of Boss MD-200 pedal for2 amplifiers 100HFX,Bias Rack(instead of heavy-metalplug-in???).
The only thing from this list that you really need is some sort of a tuner and that can be anything from a tuning fork to a clip on tuner. Everything else is nice to have, but you don't need it.
Did we miss anything? Which other guitar accessories would you deem necessary? Let us know in the comments!
A mini Amp just in case you can't afford a bigger Amp
Picks? Nail files/clippers/scissors, emery boards and polishing paper?

Good for you, Frank! Now if we could persuade LP to put out a songbook with their best songs on it, you'd really be set for some great playing.
Totally agree. Next tier of essentials for me would be a music stand, collection of picks, a strap, and an extra set of strings.

Always great info! 🎶🎸
Guitar case! Keeps it clean, and safe for the most part.

any reason not to just use your phone?
@@kiiturii The phone apps seem to work pretty well in my experience and I'd try that first before I bought any dedicated devices for the job.

A sturdy guitar strap and strap locks are good to have. It's definitely no fun when a guitar without strap locks pops out of a strap.

I hopefully playing 🎸 is enjoyable liked chords A7 , F dim 7 , B sus 4 , E7 and A/B .
