World AIDS Day: Girls Voices Against AIDS

On December 1st, UNFPA hosted young women from the Education plus Initiative and partner organizations (ATHENA, Network of Young People with disabilities- Botswana and SAfAIDS Regional SRHR Youth Advocacy & Accountability Alliance) in the event “Girls' Voices in Ending AIDS on World AIDS Day 2022”. The event addressed key inequalities impeding the HIV response, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, where HIV prevalence and incidence is high in adolescent girls and young women. UNFPA recognizes that amplifying the voices of the next generation of feminists and women leaders and allowing them a platform to be heard are key in the AIDS response.
