I just got two additional ear piercings. I haven't pierced anything since my original childhood earlobes over decades ago. They are so sore and anything touching them hurts. I will never pierce anything again. I don't know how people have so many piercings. I don't want any sharp objects near my body at all!
I contacted a Turkish surgeon for an upper eye lift, he got back to me saying I need a total facial rejuvenation costing £20 000, including a rhinoplasty, face lift, and other procedures. I immediately deleted his number and have not thought about surgery since.

Why not contact a board certified plastic surgeon where you live? Why is Turkey your only option? Here’s my situation: I will eventually need to do an upper eyelid surgery, but it has nothing to do with cosmetic reasons but purely functional. As I am aging my hooded lid is drooping and will eventually obstruct my vision. This is a hereditary from my dad who is 88 year old and already has so much excess skin over his eyelids that it is severely obstructing his field of vision. However, due to his age and health, eyelid surgery is no longer an option for him. I on the other hand still have that option available to me. If I do go forward, I am willing to pay top dollar for a top rated surgeon. I will cheap out on my clothes, makeup, other aspects of my lifestyle, but never risk my health and life to some unknown butcher in a foreign country to save some money. Plastic surgery does have it’s place, but it is still SURGERY and should not ever be taken lightly. Plastic surgery has helped so many people reclaim their lives after a mastectomy, burns, accidents, skin cancer, etc. Do your due diligence, consult a board certified professional, get a second opinion and ask questions. Stay well, stay healthy. ❤

She's quite pretty and doesn't need to please the world on social media. 20 years old !!!. I think the people around her never told her she's pretty. Indirectly, social media is a killer. She's not the first one to go to Turkey and have botched procedures, she certainly won't be the last either. This is sad it could easily be avoided.
When being pretty is all you are there is never going to be enough. She doesn't need to be said she is pretty, she needs to find her value in other parts of herself. What you can do, what you can achieve is a better thing to pursue than looks.

I grew up running outside climbing trees watching old westerns and black and white movies and digging in mud and sand and dressing up our dog in baby doll clothes. I got Instagram during the pandemic out of pure boredom and it started to make me feel strange......I just stopped using it and just watched fictional streaming. I don't know how they designed it but I'm certain it does weird things to your brain.I was in therapy at 40 meeting 20 year olds addicted to Instagram....when I get up the first thing I want to do is drink some caffeine...not scroll Instagram or TikTok. I check WhatsApp because my overseas family are on there in case they sent a message in the night...everything else can wait. I'm late diagnosed autistic so I don't know if that makes a difference as to why I'm not severely affected by the images.

I’m medical advisor in one of prestigious Turkish clinics . I’m getting requests from patients for this combination of surgeries DAILY especially from girls from England . When I explain that we can’t do all of it together , they still insist and find a place who will accept it and go there . Sometimes they are just shopping around and checking cheapest options for maximum treatments . I’m sorry for this all what is happening , but you also need to understand that there is a mistake in people as well. If you just google about doing bbl tummy tuck 360 lipo and breast lift together, google will tell you is not acceptable . The risk is length of the surgery ( sooo many hours for all of this ) plus how they gonna recover ? After bbl you’re recovering on your stomach and after breast you’re recovering on your back .

People are being so critical of a young person going through a severe mental health crisis where they felt so bad about themselves they underwent major surgery and put their life at risk. But to them that was the answer to feeling better based on the constant stream of social media. It’s so brave of her to come forward and if more was done for young people’s mental health this would happen less. It is a growing problem and young people need support, activities for their age group and education on these growing issues. Thank you to all those who come forward with your stories and raising awareness of these dangers, you are helping more people than you realise.

I agree. No-one knows better than her how foolish the surgery was. She has stuck her head above the parapet to try to discourage others from making the same mistake. At twenty she is still a kid in so many ways. I can't imagine what it must be like to have grown up when social media was already entrenched. Problem is some of these fitness enthusiasts sadly use plastic surgery too, so it's sadly feeding into the psyche of others more. The amount of female fitness influencers with duck lips is astounding. In fact the numbers of influencers in general getting plastic surgery is heart-breaking. Even a little work sends out the wrong message to young people.
As terrible as the experience was, she needs to take responsibility for her own decision. How much did it cost the NHS to “fix” her? Did she refund them from her lawsuit?
People make mistakes. Would you have preferred she died because of hers? She could have. She serves as an example.

As a British citizen paying taxes just like others in the UK, Isabella ABSOLUTELY did and does have the right to use the NHS particularly as she contracted a rare flesh-eating bacteria. That's not the answer, you should tell your kids that what really counts is their character and achievements, everybody gets old and anything can happen to your looks, you need inner strength so you don't focus on external validation and end up putting your life at risk inorder to achieve the beauty standard of society.

I totally agree. Our primary responsibility to our children is nurturing. Guiding their moral framework and encouraging them to find beauty and fulfilment in altruism as opposed to obsessing over distorted notions of beauty will cut alot of the unnecessary angst they develop. The young lady here is healthy with great potential to achieve the things in life that really matter. The human aesthetic loses its youthfulness other time but good character goes from strength to strength. I hope she finds the peace she needs. @@FF-by6ci

I'm getting tired of these horror stories from turkey. You can not hand over your life to overseas doctors you meet on the internet. You can not have surgery in the UK. This means accepting yourself and risking your life for cheap surgeries not worth it. Social media is not reality.

Parents please teach and encourage your children to exercise, eat healthy, go out for walks. It helped me a lot that my father worked out, and it encouraged me to be like him. He was very strong, I grew up getting jobs in fitness at gyms where they allow you to use the gym for free as an employee, Also get a nutritionist if you can. As a woman our body will go through many changes throughout life, and exercise and a healthy habit of eating is very helpful.
The people responsible for this need to be held accountable.

She will have signed a disclaimer, which she probably didn't read in full, relinquishing liability, so she cannot sue the surgeon / clinic .

So so sad. You are beautiful inside and out. I blame social media for the need to look ‘perfect’ in reality they don’t look that either. All airbrushed filtered etc. sending all the love and compassion your way.
Some surgeons make you more insecure when u send them a picture they point things out that u never thought about, but I do genuinely hope she truly recovers from any body dysmorphia, social media is just bee hives of insecurities with extreme filters, photoshop and many celebrities with a lot of surgeries but claim they never had any work done, so so so sad 💔💔. This surgeons take advantage of vulnerable women/men very very heart breaking.

I wouldn’t go to Turkey not even for a vacation, much less for a 10 hr procedure where you are in the hands of “doctors” you don’t even know, for a procedure you don’t need!
Turkey is a beautiful country and they do take their health care very seriously.
I have a very close friend, who was on holiday in Turkey, collapsed went to hospital got tests done and turns out she had a rare type of blood cancer.
She has previously been complaining about fatigue to NHS for over 6 months. When she returned all was confirmed by NHS and she received chemo and still in recovery. God knows if they would've ever taken her seriously in UK until it was too late.
This is absolutely heartbreaking, I feel such compassion for her and all the other beautiful girls like her going through such a horrific experience and the misguided belief that they are not enough, I send you so much love 💖

I don't feel sorry at all. No one forced her to be on social media 90%of her day instead of engaging with the real world.
Then we have to feel sorry for her because at 20 she wants to go into surgery and be changed.....When is the social media generation going to open their eyes, get off their phones and realise real life is passing them by.
She says There is more to life than just being pretty. .. What she should be saying is there is more to life than being on your phone on social media.
Making real connections with people , enjoying her family, focusing on herself inside more than the outside. If she had only done that first before she flew to turkey maybe she would have loved all of herself the way she should do.
But I guess that all takes time and its much easier to go get it sucked out and cut off.

I am sad that she went through this, I get most women, younger or older, want to look ‘better’. However, her work (some people will say it’s not work) they said is on IG. She says she wants to promote body positivity but seems to do make up turorials, which lets be honest are designed to make people (usually women) look better. I know it’s not the same as surgery, but it seems hypocritical to be promoting people self-confidence in natural looks while also doing this. All these make-up influencers need to be banned. Sorry to her if I have got it wrong and she doesn’t do that.
I work so hard so you guys can use my tax money to fix yourself when there is no need, I can't feel sorry for you guys. There are people who really need the NHS for real emergency

@biggerthanhiphop7641 that's a lovely theory, but while we might be responsible, many people are impressionable. Social media is different to previous forms of media (hence our conversation now), and we need to protect the vulnerable by taking accountability of the platforms, not just our own little worlds.
