It’s tracks like these, that only real Metallica fans know about, that make them the GOAT’s.
Most people don't know that Metallica died in an airplane crash after recording and justice for all. They were replaced by androids.
This is their greatest song IMO.
Yes. METALLICA are very good at getting their story across. 🤟🤟 This is one of my favorite METALLICA songs. That's the government saying BACK TO THE FRONT. They don't care about human life.
Totally agree James hetfield is a genius song writer
It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets. -Voltaire
"One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic." - Stalin
@@johnjackson9767 That is a very important point, these days. In actual Fact.
What you are saying about "Life planned out before my birth" is very apt to today's all-volunteer military that you grew up with, so, very cool breakdown of what that line conjured for you. The lyrics were written by James about WW2, therefore it was written a little more literally due to the number of 18 year olds who were drafted for the war, never to be seen again. Love your reactions bro, keep your real!
I haven't heard this song in such a long time.... I was a Marine infantryman in a helicopter assault company. In 1993, We jammed to this as we got battle ready to fly from the Navy ship over Mogadishu, Somalia. It hyped us and the running joke was we were disposable hero's . Loading ammo, grenades, claymore mines and mortar rounds was never so enjoyable to this song.

@Long Legged Larry Exactly... that's what made it so great. We were bred to fight and this was our super bowl.
Surely, one of the best Metallica songs. Also, their first anti-war song (another is "One" from "...And Justice For All")
You got it brother, I love your knowledge of music theory, that's what is all about. That's why Metallica is a huge cut above everyone else. That's why were still talking about them and there greatness 40 years later.
You got your old videos back!!!!!!! Congrats!!!
Damn...love your analysis/breakdown...especially the link between artist research, the final product, and the listener experience. Beauty.
I really like how you react to some lesser known Metallica songs, not just the singles which so many people react to.
2:23-2:26 Got me laughing so damn hard. 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
(my fav James Hetfield's impression, LOL)
Basically this song is about like a soldier in ww1 for example, no chance of survival but go do your duty, no chance and why am I doing this basically. Brilliant song
I knew you'd catch that at 1:47. Love your videos. \m/
Based marginally on First World War efforts through the trenches. You can reflect on this track amongst many others in different ways. This is what I love about jaws hetfield and Metallica, it’s that status that emotion that they can place anybody who listens into 🤘🏻🤘🏻
The lead singer used to go to school and him and his buddy had a contest going with each other who could come up with the best guitar riffs over night James talked about it in the Guitar Center session here on UA-cam
You were describing IMT or infantry movement tactics. I’m up-he sees me- I’m down. Low crawl- high crawl- 3 to 5 second rush. Or when your buddy is down and providing cover fire so you move forward past him and drop to provide him cover fire, and so on and so forth. This is called bounding overwatch. Yep. I can totally hear it.
Military does everything it can to strip away one’s individuality. They strictly regulated haircuts uniforms what sunglasses you may wear what boots you may wear what belts you may wear. An infantryman is referred to as a dirty nasty leg. Nothing more than a machine to get from point a to point B and accomplish the mission. When a soldier is unable to perform his or her duties due to an injury they are referred to as a broke dick. A broke dick is good for nothing in the military sense and in the truest sense of the term. And the fact that they refer to us as broken at all implies that we are nothing more than a piece of equipment. As a wounded veteran, I have been fortunate in that the VA and the military has taken pretty good care of me. But I have seen too many who have pretty much been hung out to dry and thrown out to the trash as soon as they were no longer combat effective. This song is sad but true “ to use another Metallica song to describe” lol
Like you were saying about hearing two guitars, Kirk recorded the solo several times and dubbed certain parts in. Like at 7:18 you can really hear 2 lead guitars going at the same time.
Damage Inc. By the way love you're reactions.
Great reaction :) Next one should be Metallica - Leper Messiah !
5:03 man that’s a crazy analyzation now that I think of it
240 likes & no dislikes yet......why is that Dave ?..'cause you're a good bloke. ...you would be welcomed to Australia anytime bro.
Cliff Burton on bass!
Great song Bro
Coming from the suicideboys reactions. Would love to see more metallica :)
Have you seen my Metallica playlist already?
@@whatitdodave I'm binge watching all of them right now. Good stuff 👏
@@whatitdodave "in constant sorrow" by $B reaction next? Lol
Its the General
It's awesome.
BTW, when you're ready for some death metal and tech death, I have a couple of suggestions Dave.
METALLICA
0:50 no it's not bro, not for this one...

Absolutely great song, and probably the best lyrics on Master of Puppets. I also really dig the acoustic version they do. It's obviously not as heavy or intense, but the acoustic instrumentals and new arrangement makes it sound like this epic anti-war folk song.

U addicted to metallica pal haha yes
METALICAS PLATO. HONESTLY I CANT THK OF ONE BETTER.. SORRY.
Guitarlo isn't a thing. It's a guitar solo. I'm a metal musician and you're the only one who uses it. Drives me nuts, otherwise I like your breakdowns.
Guitar-lo is obviously a made up term. I know it does not exist, and it doesn’t take a musician to figure that out. I’m just having fun.
I actually like the term guitar-lo. Don't know why, it has an air of fun about it. I'm a guitarist btw.
