"It's dark in the hallway!" was her big mistake...the guy in the room could see light coming from under his door! He knew it was a setup! Word had to be going around town that dealers were getting picked off. Everyone would be on edge by the time this went down.
Moreover, there's a good chance he lived in a neighborhood where aren't many kids or, if there are any, they knew not to be that naive. Or maybe he simply was an unapproachable person who scared away kids and soft people and the only people who would know on his door are his business acquaintances. At any rate, there was a good chance the possibility of a random kid knocking on his door like that was extremely low, so it was extra suspicious that this happened after the wave of drug dealer killings or after he got a hit on him (if he had an idea about that, which sometimes may be true).
A dealer would not react to that knock ever. However, the scenes this movie presents are marbles on a string, because they convey very specific feelings and human interaction in a well-known but fictionary world.

A truly unforgettable masterpiece, and a touching film. With such a perfect cast of the Underrated Jean Reno, Natalie Portman, Gary Oldman, and so many others, it literally created a film that was perfect with such a strong emotional, action-packed storyline and what a soundtrack. Honestly, one of the very few films, that you can truly say has no flaws, and one that everyone can agree is perfect. With such a low budget to work with, created a true masterpiece, A film, that'll never be forgotten.

A film with such a perfect selection of a cast with such underrated actors such as Jean Reno, Natalie Portman debuting in her first ever film which launched her acting career, Gary Oldman, and so many others. A film with such an emotional bond that you honestly can't explain it fully, its something that you honestly have to feel it to experience it. Its a film that's meant to be experienced through emotion, not through explanation just like Leon whenever you would see his character's facial expressions of what he would feel, like the amount of strong emotion behind it, is incredible, especially towards the end of the movie where you'd expect it to end off in a happy ending but it ends sadly. It can't be described fully in words, just through your own heart & emotion, especially with how perfect the film was, like there's no flaws with it. It's a film filled with strong emotional, action-packed storyline and soundtracks that honestly make you feel sad for Leon and Mathilda as if you're a part of them. Jean Reno truly nailed the performance like hes so underrated, and it really shows the amount of talent Natalie had which started her career in one of the greatest films of all time like all the roles were nailed perfectly. Its just a masterpiece. Not only that but this movie didn't have much of a budget either, and it turned out to be so successful and one of the greatest films of all time, which you can't deny, its something that everyone agrees on, like it or not, it is. Such a masterpiece, a film like I said filled with such an emotional bond that you honestly can't explain it fully, its something that you honestly have to feel it to experience it. Truly unforgettable, memorable and much more. I honestly wish it got more credit that it was unfortuantely given, it honestly deserved so much credit, especially an award for Jean Leno and his performance. Such a perfect selection, such a perfect story, film, and of course music selection. One of the few films where you experience raw emotion, and feelings. Like even the trailer itself is just amazing. A film that you honestly feel through your heart, its just heartfelt like the emotions of the film just go through your heart and makes you feel it as if you're one of the characters especailly as Leon and Maltithda, and not only that but heartbroken as well, especially at the end of the film where you see a flash of light slowly entering and then fading away knowing that hes passed & finally achieved the peace he wanted, while also having something to loose for, and love with actual roots being placed - a meaning for him which was Maltithda. Like even now, when I watched this movie, I still feel the emotions thats how strong it is, its attached, especially every time when you look back to it and it always hits you over and over again. Like it's just unexplainable, you can try your best to explain it, but its something you just gotta feel for yourself like I said and its so emotionally intense. 5 stars. A film that literally hit me hard so many times in my feelings, and made me realize the true meanings of love & life, purpose. regret, change and gave me a perspective, a will, a reason, change - everything. It literally has so many messages, and feelings, of dreams, hopes, and roots. Like man this film just changes you, pure chills, pure tears, pure emotion, pure sadness and much more as well. So much to say, its honestly endless, with so many emotions & feelings.
DNA where? If the police don't have Mathilda as a suspect then they can't match the gum residue to her. And the finger print? So many people touch the doorbell you would never be able to pull off a clean print. Imagine a dozen peoples prints all mashed onto just one button. What else?
I felt that there is something more about the "ring" that Leon gave to Stansfield in the last scene. Then i watched uncut version and it became clear :)
The ring trick. Once you pull the pin on the grenade you hold the handle till it will explode in 1 second so the guy can not grab it and throw it back to seek cover. Boom.
Yeah they call it cooking. That's standard handling procedure you learn in the military (and probably elsewhere too for whoever would want to use grenades).
Movie was inspired by Luc Besson's own relationship with his second wife and their trip to New York. She was 14 when he married her. Luc Besson met her when she was 12.

Had to come here and check I didn't dream or smthn. Why is there a version without this part?!
I can't help but say to myself "finger prints and DNA evidence everywhere!!" 😂
DNA where? If the police don't have Mathilda as a suspect then they can't match the gum residue to her. And the finger print? So many people touch the doorbell you would never be able to pull off a clean print. Imagine a dozen peoples prints all mashed onto just one button. What else?
I’m surprised this clip is uploaded 15 years ago.
Léon (Directors Cut) is HUGELY different than The Professional. 30 mins is cut out of The Professional, if my memory serves correct.
22*
After the dust settles:
- What do we do now, Leon?
- It's the end, Mathilda, we've just killed the director.
DNA all over that gum
I like he hugs to protect the girl.
Well, there goes his security deposit.
DPS will find in favour of the tenant and return it mate.
I felt that there is something more about the "ring" that Leon gave to Stansfield in the last scene. Then i watched uncut version and it became clear :)
Theres actually quite a bit extra in the directors cut , probably like 20 mins extra scenes Etc
This movie was cut to bits in the TV and Netflix versions. If you want to see it as Luc Besson intended get the director’s cut
They need to do a sequel to this with Matilda grown-up.
wow all these years ive been missing out, i need to see this version pisses me off.
The ring trick. Once you pull the pin on the grenade you hold the handle till it will explode in 1 second so the guy can not grab it and throw it back to seek cover. Boom.
you always do that with grenades it's standard procedure not really a "trick".
I believe the term you're looking for is cooking
Yeah they call it cooking. That's standard handling procedure you learn in the military (and probably elsewhere too for whoever would want to use grenades).
@@bigbilly2052the way it was instructed to me was that its basically giving a gift and no receipt so they can't return it
No receipt lol that's funny.
Movie was inspired by Luc Besson's own relationship with his second wife and their trip to New York. She was 14 when he married her. Luc Besson met her when she was 12.
She was 15 actually.
Either way a child 😬
Neighbours didn't seem to be interested in what happens next door :P
leaving dna on every victims doorstep. literally
NYC cops didnt care back then, sloppy investigative work
NYPD did'nt even know about fingerprints at the time (just joking)
@@CaptainDangeax I don't think they would care since it's just a little girl after all
