I've had one of those cheek pokers run over a thumb, just tickled it but was good contact for a second at least, scared me to death. Now I always wear leather gloves or welding gloves, because the 20-30s to put on the gloves is worth it.
@@Extort713 Not just gloves my friend. After the damage I've seen happen to others over my decades of wrenching on cars. My riggers gloves have always been my go to. Now I also wear my overalls, jeans or chainsaw chaps. Because about 5 years ago. I had a 5 inch cutting disc explode and lodge about a 1/4 of itself in my leg. Now I not only have a cool scar and story. I also have more PPE in my backyard shed than most professional garages. Took me a long time (& a couple of grandsons) to work out I'm not invincible. lol

He really needs to get the body work done on this car as well as the Charger. I know he wants to enjoy the cars now. But if Dylan does not take care of the body, he won't have much of a car left to enjoy when body panels start to fall off due to so much rust and dents.

Couple things that help your “stock” hemi run so well, your car is only about 3300lbs, you have 3:91 gears and that 4 speed puts more power to the wheels than an automatic. So yes, she will rip🏁🏁👍

Seeing your smile in that clip made me think of how I used to feel with my 16 challenger scat pack. Every time I got in that car, I smiled and when I'd do a burnout, no matter how small, I'd get the same reaction you had. Glad to see you are enjoying your hard work

I love that old "loop" carpet. Just be gentle when you clean it. Don't use drill brushes or anything like that on it. It'll mess up the loops. Car looks great.

If your only gonna do one more video on the challenger please do the entire last video fixing up the outside part of it. While the interior looks amazing the biggest and best part to me is the color of the paint, seeing the doors fixed up, the back getting fixed up. Making it look like a real car and not all beat up

You are doing a bad ass job on this car young man. I love what you are doing with the car. Everything fixed right,looks awesome under the hood, looking like (new) on the inside, picked the right wheels, and leaving the outside of the car just as it is. I just think the way you have done up to this point is just Bad Ass. Keep up the great work man!!!
On "chrome" parts like the glove box latch, I use a brass brush with my Dremel, following up with a good metal polish. A lot easier on old parts... Love the content, enjoying the build!

I like the rebuild of most cars but the Challenger is always a favorite. I have owned a 1970 charger a 1974 charger also a 74 Duster 340 with 550 horsepower, 11sec 1/4 mile and I have always had a soft spot for mopar cars. Keep up the good work

Way to go Dylan. It's been a long build. Just imagine, that stock 5.7 Gen 3 Hemi has about the same power as a 440 Magnum did in 1970. Now imagine if Mopar had that kind of technology back then? Modern engines are something else. Thanks for the great videos, I can't wait for the next project.
I can tell you went with the perfect combo with the engine, transmission and rear diff. This Challenger build came out really well. Really would like a 68 Charger to play around with if only I had some more money for the space and the project. Your hard worked paid off. Got a sweet ride now.

I can't remember I've been watching this epic build for so long but did you treat the outside with the Linseed/Kerosene finish? If not that would be one of things I'd definitely be doing soon. Makes the Patina really come through and adds just a little shine depending on your mix as well as protects the metal from further rust damage. Awesome video! I am hoping you can answer one question to help me out. Im installing an 8 3/4 rear in my Duster in April. I have the 3.91 chunk ready to put in. Im replacing the old bearings for new green bearings. When i put this thing together, Ill bolt in the center chunk and slide in the axles. Is there a torque for the axles or a special amount of play? Dylan, ive kept up with this entire challenger build. Im going to miss your blood, sweat, and tears on this build. Heres to future projects. I just want to request you do one thing Dylan. Several videos ago, you talked about the reasons why you were leaving the body exactly as is. You talked about the previous owner and the history of him and the car.....how he got ran into the door...the damage on the fender. It was some great car history and it obviously drove you to keep the car as is rather than make the whole car all perfect and shiny. One of the comments you said was your ability to prove that it was the same car you dragged out of the mud if you ever decided to go back to that residence and show the previous family the car again. I couldnt think of a better last video of this car build than driving back over there and letting that family see the car after all the work youve put into it. Thank you Dylan for preserving this old girl and keeping it the way it originally was. Those old patina paint jobs are the best. :)

It was good to see the charger after all this time. Im glad to see things coming together here, it wouldn't be a bad idea to put some floor mats in the challenger. Just so that nice new black carpet stays nice. "good work Dylan".

Watching your reaction was the best. I can only imagine so many late nites and hard work you put into this car. So worth it. Good for you. I only hope I can do the same with my motorcycle one day
One thing I've found that works on old visors to keep them from peeling and breaking away. After you clean them up and treat them with some type of treatment, vinyl or leather which ever one they are mind you, use just a thin coat of spray on clearn coat. Pay attention to the threading and the seams and that tends to keep them together longer, then of course you will either have to repair them or do like Dylan did and just order after market parts.

It was good to see the charger after all this time. Im glad to see things coming together here, it wouldn't be a bad idea to put some floor mats in the challenger. Just so that nice new black carpet stays nice. "good work Dylan".

One thing I've found that works on old visors to keep them from peeling and breaking away. After you clean them up and treat them with some type of treatment, vinyl or leather which ever one they are mind you, use just a thin coat of spray on clearn coat. Pay attention to the threading and the seams and that tends to keep them together longer, then of course you will either have to repair them or do like Dylan did and just order after market parts.
