Barry Bailey is one of the very best guitarists I have ever heard play the instrument. I think what made him so amazing was his incredible smooth rhythmic style. He could play anything but what he played was just smoother and more refined than anyone else! RIP guitar man!
Same here. Being a tube amp freak my jaw dropped hearing those tones out of a Line-5 I think he said. Long, long ago that was. Needless to say sure turned my head around in achieving tone. Told me most important to me, tone is in your fingers. Turned my playing around completely. Awesome!
Saw this band many times and they were always the opener….At Ga. Tech Stadium with 80,000 of their best friends on a hot summer afternoon they were incredible….if you’ve not heard their “Red Tape” album make sure you do!!! Jukin’….is one a the best tunes ever!!
I honestly never knew much about this band. I knew their hits, So Into You, Spooky, Imaginary Lover, Alien and Do It Or Die. I did know they were a Southern Rock band although the songs I was hearing were more pop/rock than SR. I'm going to go through their multiple albums and check out their work. They seemed a like a very tight band, and all seemed like very accomplished musicians. And I really like Ronnie Hammond's voice.
Start with Third Annual Pipe Dream. Then RedTape move those two have some smokers. All of their albums have some great songs that you’ll never hear unless you look them up. Boogie Smoogie and Another Man’s Women should get you started in the right direction. Good luck 🙏 PEACE
Someone refered to them like if Lynyrd Skynyrd and Steely Dan had a baby and named it Atlanta Rythm Section. Check out Pretty Girl and Evileen. Underrated songs from an underrated band.
I saw these guys open for Charlie Daniels in '77 and they blew Charlie Daniels off the stage they were so much better. They did about a 10 minute version of Angel What's Come Over Us that was one for the ages
Other than the amazing songs ARS did, l seriously think Ronnie could have played Jesus in Hollywood or on Broadway, because he sure looked like a beautiful Jesus in this video. RIP Ronnie. We sure were into you.
Pardon my ignorance, what do you mean by that? I’ve been listening non stop to them, they’re incredible. I’m 28 so I don’t really know they’re history.
Don't know what "op25500" is trying to imply but I was around in the 70s & Atlanta Rhythm Section was super popular, filling stadiums everywhere & lots of airplay on the airways/radios back then. They were all professional studio musicians from Studio One, just outside of Atlanta in Doraville,Georgia. They formed out of Classics lV, a popular 60s group that disbanded. Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, the Outlaws & Journey also used Studio One to record, among other artists.
Always loved them! Kinda thought; them going more mellow in the late 1970's, worked against them in the long run. Wished they could have kicked it little harder in the studio on there last 3 albums during their hey day. These albums still had their moments and are well worth the time to " give em' a listen!" Loved tunes like "Born Ready", Silver Eagle" , "Cocaine Charlie", "Alien", "Homesick", "Higher", on their later albums Their double live album is killer, too! Just give "Angel" a listen!
@sopitabo Hey, fellow Reb! Got some news from Virginia today: Lee High school & Stonewall Jackson high schools went back to their names. The SOUTH is not rising again. We are NOW RISING!!!

@@1toweringfoolWhen did Barry not ever use a Marshall Superbass head?
Barry has my all time Les Paul tone!
@@keylearning5746 Used a Fender Princeton in the studio for clean stuff.
Barry unique style❤❤❤😊
RIP Ronnie Hammonds , Barry Bailey and Paul Goddard.
Sadly Robert Nix, JR Cobb, and Dean Daughtry too. Hard to believe they are all gone.
A vastly underrated band. Great musicians and fantastic songs.
love me some Atlanta Rhythm Section one and only
Saw them in concert, thought it was gonna be all mellow stuff. Was pleasantly surprised. They blew the roof off the place.
Love ARS damn good music.

The best of the best‼️The guys of Doraville❤
Doraville is my favorite song by ARS.

Very little filler on their albums. Quality assured. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Rhythm.
Barry Bailey should be in the top 100 guitarists ever.

They tried to make Pop Stars out of Good Ole' boys from Georgia...Good luck ...They rocked
Exactly! They didn’t fit the profile lol
