Great song and guitar solo, I quite enjoy listening to the Atlantic rhythm section music, since the ‘70s.

I got to meet the band when this song and Imaginary Lover were in the charts. My small High School of 200+ won a live concert at our school. When I reminisce of my school days, this is cherished most. They Rocked our small Arkansas School out! Afterwards we got to hang out with the band.. They (especially Ronnie) were so cool, but especially humble. Talking to Ronnie he made me feel like I was important to him when in actuality we must have looked like just small town hick kids. But they gave us a Class "A" concert. A memory I'll always cherish..RIP Ronnie and the rest in the band who have passed. Such a great band!

      That's a Wonderful story Mr.Wilson.
I reviewed your page and it's nice.
The quote on the last page is touching. But not all of us find True Love I have found in my years.
But I love myself and that will be enough. Don't think I could stand another heartbreak. 💔
Ronnie Hammond was as nice as you describe. 😜🎼ARS⚡

I lived in Atlanta in high school back in the late 70's and early 80's. One of my close friends' mom dated Ronnie Hammond and I met him at Champagne Jam '78 and a couple of other times at my friends' house. Ronnie was a funny, humble, gentle soul with the consummate pop/rock voice. Without Ronnie on those early albums there would never have been an ARS. Period. Rest In Peace Ronnie.

COLIN WEIR thx,Colin I was a child of the late 70's and 80's and I was at good parties with lots of AC/DC blasting, they were/are huge here(I prefer the Bon era but both are good)I remember some good lighter bands like Men at Work,The Church,Hoodoo Gurus,etc..."Friday on my mind" is great song,..I'm guessing there were plenty of good lesser known Aussie bands that never got big here in the states. My Grand Uncle moved there(he's a geologist)and loves it there, too bad we're so far apart,I would love to go there myself

I was only 10 when I first listened to these guys. Even so, I recognized their talent and to this day, no band sounds like them...the rhythm is incredible (something most rock bands do not have.)
Years later, I was able to visit Doraville, GA (via military service) where they came from and take in the sights, the scenes, and the Southern culture to understand how they got that flavor of music.
    Brilliant guys.

Jeff U - J.R. Cobb played a mean Fender Stratocaster, and many Les Paul's, and Gibson ES 335 model guitars, and was also an awesome guitarist / songwriter, way back to the early days of The Classics IV (his original band). J.R. Cobb wrote "Spooky" in 1968, "Stormy" in 1969, along with "Traces". He was the lead guitarist for the Classics IV, too! RIP J.R. Cobb.

There was also NANTUCKET, ELVIN BISHOP, 10cc, and a BEATLES and a CAPT & TENNILE TRIBUTE BAND. There were two stages. Paul Goddard was featured on a PBS special about Muscle Shoals studios in Muscle Shoals AL. One of my favorite specials. Who would know that this guy was so very good. Such a talent to lose. RIP and PTL.

My dad bout me a belt buckle for my 10 birthday that had ARS on it, I never new who they were. I played classic rock guitar for years before I heard the solo in this song. But since I learned to appreciate guitar players for there own sound and playing techniques this version only helps remind me how good Baily's version was. And as for this guy he must appreciate and respect Baily enough to have done this tune with a Strat rather then a Les Paul. You can try to play like a Randy or a Jimi but really guitar players know how much of a mistake it would be to stand in for someone and play like them note for note.

Getrealpeeps Around 1970 at the Fillmore in San Francisco they played a one hour set. Before them 4 mediocre local bands played their sets and almost everybody left. What was left filled the front row only. They played their hearts out and blew our socks off. I Will never forget. The tightest most professional rock band I ever saw/heard.

+Rolf Dusseldorf Great story! Unfortunately, kids nowadays don't have that same privilege. I saw VH open for Sabbath at MSG in '78. What a monster performance by VH. I was blown away.
