@@SandwichMishima you have to be courageous and don’t let his darkness consume you too. Trust in the light and your pure heart and you will defeat him and his darkness too. I think that is the only way to beat Riku. Yes his darkness is powerful but with pure light you can beat him
probably old news at this point but: riku does that kick attack every 4 hits you land on him, without fail. he'll randomly do it again when his health is low but otherwise it's every 4 hits. count your hits and you can avoid it every time. and this rule is consistent! he does an automatic counterattack every 4 hits in his later 2 fights in the game as well :) one of the many little details i love about this game
Another good tip for avoiding the kick is to not have cerebral palsy, since he has a big wind up to doing it and it's extremely easy to dodge, even if you didn't know about the 4 hit rule you still shouldn't have too much trouble, as long as you don't have cerebral palsy
@@pariahlord3540 knowing the 4 hit rule helps a LOT tho. this fight located very early in the game so a lot of people still button mash everything and naturally always tried to finish sora's 3 combo when they caught riku in stagger, so even with that long ass wind up, riku's kick will always caught them in the start of 2nd hit animation or end of 3rd hit animation
Ah, yes that blasted kick used to be a pain in the ass to deal with especially when Riku just powers through you smacking his with a big stick. Dude’s got buns of steel.
@@MYCUHHH proud mode in kh1 is objectively harder than kh2 critical mode by a longshot too. kh2 superbosses are way harder though as you can just get stronger than the superbosses in kh1 by reaching level 100 (only takes an hour in a half in the gizmo shop) and farm boosts (max stats for sephiroth is 61 str/def. ddd also has that issue where you can just be stronger than every superboss by reaching max level in an hour or two
The amount of times I've played kh1, every single time I did not leave the island until I beat wakka, tidus, jump rope girl(yes that is her name idc), and riku(in both the race and the fight). Maybe it's the ODD, maybe it's just because I don't like admitting defeat.
i beat every single data boss in one night, idk what you mean (I studied every single possible attack pattern and learned to counter them through trial and error)
If this was proud I'd understand. It's just hard so I'm a little disappointed but I also understand the pain that is the stupid kick flip get up attack
It was on Proud, I got stuck on the Coliseum Tournament with Leon and Yui for a month and decided to move on to games that I can legitimately beat like Assassin's Creed or God of War💀
@@SandwichMishima god of war 2018 on give me god of war is hard. But on a new game plus file it's slightly easy because you are not level 1 while the first enemies in the game are level 5 and up
I'm still stuck on the Maleficent Dragon boss fight. I have 80+ hours in Elden Ring and I can't beat the final boss of KH. That's how ridiculously hard this game is.
@@SandwichMishima Damn, sorry about the flex. I can't beat Elden Ring for the life of me just yet, so I'll give you that. I get too frustrated to play.

Thankyou for the tips brother, I play Elden Ring and Bloodborne in my spare time so I am too used to dodge rolling and parrying. Walking away never occured to me lol.
Dark Souls players are babied by starting off with a dodge roll. Oh, you expected to be simply given an I-Frames button from the absolute beginning of the game? No, sorry, that's a privilege you have to earn here in a real action platformer . Gotta parry with your weapon like an actual fight, not drop to your knees and breakdance every time the boss gets a little upset. (Obviously this is a joke, no insult is meant)
That Riku hasn’t even gained his dark powers yet
Four months later and I finally beat dark Riku. Surprisingly he went down the 2nd try and not the 32nd.

Idk dark riku easier than island riku imo

Just wait when he face Sephiroth in KH1
Yozora: hold my stolen keyblade
Or xenmas the true cannon ending
Riku being Riku

After playing Devil May Cry and Dark Souls. I now mix dodging with Aerial combos during gameplay.

Kh 2 is easier aside from the superbosses wich are way harder than the superbosses here.
Depends on the difficulty tho

Should've replaced the sound affects with dark souls ones
Meanwhile in BBB's Mysterious Figure fight in Crit mode...
Not too bad unless you are playing as Terra.

Pro tip every 4th hit on Riku he does the front kick attack just move to the side
Not me grinding Tidas to level 36 before I fought him
