    The chip on the bottom right with the white blob on the corner looks like that corner of the chip is broken off, or at least has a nasty crack in it.

    I subscribed looking for a solution to my 6 Plus touch deseas, seen most of your videos and I'm amazed of how easy it results to fix are phones (I do screen replacement on iPhones, iPad digitizer, batteries, power flex, etc...) you really have inspired me to dedicate time at working looking at
    Phone boards trying to fix power issues or backlights no working after some repairs. I managed to fix IPad mini 3 back light issue and fix touch on iphone just by removing debris from the boards conector.
    PS I wrote to you from Venezuela pretty sure no to many people from here have written you emails. Keep up the good work thumbs up!

      Giovanni Veloz for normal used to found the short where is the hot chip when connected to the dc power, used your finger to touch or see the smoke start to coming, in my case I used freeze spray before to connect to the dc power

    How hot is your air for the cap to come off in like a second?

    • @ststele
      @ststele  8 років тому

      I keep it set on 390C for almost everything.. I'm not sure what temp it actually is though

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 8 років тому

      STS Telecom Wow that's hot. What about air flow? I dialed mine down to 330c with airflow of 6 (max on my machine is 8) higher airflow seems to help

    • @ststele
      @ststele  8 років тому

      I have airflow set at 42/100 on mine for most jobs. It seems like quite a bit of air though. I'm not sure I'd like turning it up higher... it could get out of hand. lol

    • @mrsemifixit
      @mrsemifixit 8 років тому

      STS Telecom Lol it's probably equivalent to what I use. Used to be afraid to use higher air flow but it really helps speed things up and use lower safer temp

    Hey Jason, i noticed you use kapton tape to hold down your boards. I've done the same as well. have you used a PCB holder?

    • @ststele
      @ststele  8 років тому +1

      I've never used one but I've had many people suggest an omnivise. Not sure how I'd like having the piece I'm working on lifted up off of the table but I'm going to give it a shot pretty soon. :)

    Hey is it possible to get data from my disabled iphone 7...
    I hav forgot passcode.....!

    • @ststele
      @ststele  6 років тому +1

      You could put it into recovery mode and then update with iTunes. That will give you another chance to enter the pass-code but you would need to know the passcode though.

    hey Jason, i have a question. You mention on the video that you will not be able to fix their no signal issue, is there a reason for that? is the no signal problem not repairable in general or just on this particular board? just wondering.

    • @S3piocomputersCanada
      @S3piocomputersCanada 8 років тому

      Ronald R with all the possible issues this board will have is better just do data recovery because if you see all is bad from the other repair shop is a risk to try to repair the phone, maybe is possible to do it but is a lot time, you all the time need to check the cost of the repair phone not make sense if cost a lot for a client
