    Steam is good for stretching leather.

      @@joannewhilde9654 that’s not a bad idea. I hadn’t thought about that before. I suppose as long as it doesn’t make the leather too moist, before putting the adhesive on.
      I have a tefal steamer, will give it a try at some point.

      @@retfurb But too hot and the leather shrinks and hardens.

    Do you ever prestretch the wet leather before gluing?

      @@PoulHansenDK no, I don’t do this.
      Purely as I worry about adhesion, with wetting the leather beforehand.

      There's a guy called Rose Anvil and he works with leather. It's very very good for tips.
