      @retfurb I don't know if you explain it well but I mean the main nut that is on top of the rudder when you finish putting it together, the one that says "OFF" and "ON" headshok, in the same way as you say it is very difficult without seeing and I don't know what internal mechanism is responsible for blocking and unlocking the suspension

    It's actually very common for fans of all types to start in High > Medium > Low .. The reason being to make sure the blades start turning you need the extra torque/power from higher speeds. Even cheap box fans and fans from Wal-Mart and other department stores purchased today will come like this. If you tried leaving that fan on LOW, unplugging it until the blade stops and plugging it back in, there's a chance it won't actually have enough torque to get the blades spinning. Next time you see a box fan look at the knob, it's almost always marked 0 > 3 > 2 > 1 or Off > H > M > L. Looks a lot better after the restoration though! Thanks for posting.

      @@Nilumbrathanks for the additional information. Most of the cheaper plastic type fans I’ve come across, have a lower speed at start. But I should imagine this one being hard to move, starting at a lower speed. Thanks for the additional information.

    magura very specifically states that one should pump the other way around - always from the brakes to the lever. i dont know why... it might just be because of the usual orientation with the lever higher than the brakes but maybe there is some other reason (e.g., pushing debris away from the breaks).

    The audio "wum" sound shortly after power up to which you refer twice in the video is normal on the 3020A. If I left the volume at zero for several seconds after start up then you would only hear it faintly through the speaker. At least you knew the amp was providing audio to the speaker. Result! Nad are nice reliable little amps. Interesting about the fault. I had brand new Arcam mini Solo's that started to develop faults. (Actually it was a second replacement just out of warranty). Long story short, I took the top panel off only to find a loose ribbon connector plug. I didn't get much change from Arcam either, which surprised me from a quality company. Along with other issues on both units, I put it down to poor assembly and Quality Control.

      @retfurb 12 днів тому

      @kennym5898 yeah, it ended up being an easy fix. You does sound like your amp could have been an issue in assembly.

    Do you have any ideas why the component unsoldered itself? Do you think it was getting hot?

    • @retfurb
      @retfurb 12 днів тому

      @@helixworld I personally think it was probably knocked / dropped at some point. Plus it may have been a weak solder joint in the first place. There was a piece of front panel broken away, so it could have been done at the same time.

    Probably you could make use of intonation variety when explaining the issues. You only use plain intonation (not rising and falling) in your speech and it can be quite monotonous to listen to your comments. Great video. I owned the US version of the model, purchased in 1993 or 94. I made several trips around the States until I purchased a new home, and then I put it out with the trash to make space for new junk, and I regret it every day. The only issue I had was that contact broke up at volume; once I went higher, it was fine. Just needed a little contact cleaner and some TLC. :(

    I just got a 1995-6 f600 with dd50. The shock is flat and flopping around bottoming out. I'm assuming elastomer is busted? Can I get to this through snap ring and cap on the bottom? Maybe I can fab up some sort of spacer to make it rideable?

      @@bullseyepete8367 yes, you should be able to access from underneath. On this fork, it is possible doing it that way 👍🏻. You can purchase some polyurethane rod on eBay, to replace the old. It is pretty inexpensive for that small amount.

    That amp is primarily a home cinema amp, it was also the cheapest Yamaha home cinema amp, they sold new for £299. Very good reliable amps and better with Dolby Pro Logic encoded movies than normal stereo. That said as a HiFi amp, it’s still pretty good, there are a couple of settings only available from the remote (if I remember correctly), to do with DSP modes that I’f turned off will improve stereo sound. Also worth checking the DB level switch on the back.
