Also that touch screen is just terrible. I prefer having buttons that I can just feel my way around.

During my test drive, the speedometer location was a non issue. It's a quick flick of your eyes just as it's always been, just in a different direction. You adjust in no time at all.

It was funny, I knew before going I to the test drive that it was going to be weird. But it wasn't until like an hour after the drive that it clicked and I was like, "wait a second. I didnt even notice the lack of gauges in front of my face."
Also you can set a chime for if you go over the speed limit. You can even change when it does like 5 over, 10 over etc
I've been using my speed on google maps on my phone as much as the old toyota one in the middle anyway, my phone is placed where the Tesla screen is. It's a natural progression

There are lots of much cheaper cars and there definitely will be by then. Anyway in 50 years most cars will already be rising in value again. When a car gets about 25 years old is usually when it has it's lowest value.

Having owned a model 3 for over 6 months, I can confirm the difference between looking down at your speed vs looking over for your speed is exactly 0% different. You can see the road and the speed the same as if it were in front of you.
Exactly, the prius is kind of the same, since it has all the guages digitally in the middle of the dash instead of right infront of u. I actually feel like i see the speed in my prius better then a car with mechanical guages infront of the steering wheel..

The digital speedometer is great for accuracy, but I like the analog speedometer better. You get a better sense of acceleration than you do with climbing numbers. It can't compare to watching how the needle moves for the purpose of maintaining speed. In extreme cases though I think the needle might lag behind under high acceleration, while a digital display would show the correct speed with no lag.

How long did it take to deliver from the day you ordered? And what package, AWD/Range?
I purchased the 240 mile plus version on March 1st, estimated to be delivered as early as March 11th (I just received a text from Tesla today). Originally, they said delivery should occur within two weeks from the order date. However, if I ordered the 35k version, the estimated time would have been 2-4 weeks.

The nice thing that people never seem to mention clearly is that for all the time you are city / town driving you can have the nice wheels showing and then for the less frequent times you are taking longer road trips on the freeway you can pop the wheel covers on and increase your range by 10%. Easy and practical.

Shame there are so many naysayers writing miserable or irrelevant comments, they don't matter though. I have seen other Model 3 reviews but they are not as good as this one here, on an unlikely channel to do such a fabulous car justice. Please excuse my previous negative comments on 'straight-piping' exhausts and all that silly nonsense, all is forgiven!
Side note: It’s 10% in comparison to the 19“ wheels. Cover vs no cover on the standard wheels is a 4% difference. You can also get lug nut covers and a little Tesla plague for the center.

@@miles3521 No, these kind of cars take a really long time to get delivered. He made the deposit around 6 months ago. He already made the spec for the SVJ and in that point there is no return, he payed everything and the car gets in queue to get on production.

HUD would be nice. I've driven the BMW with the HUD and it is very sweet and very good. It is not 100% perfect because in sunlight you get the bright box reflection around it but you tend to ignore it after a while. Pretty impressive though and would be fantastic on a Tesla.
One thing he forgot as an amazing hidden feature is the built-in dashcam.

Currently renting one while my KIA Niro Hybrid is in the shop and this car is out of this world. The power is insane. having your speed on the big infotainment screen was a bit different and took some time getting used to but i love the traffic cameras and they are so clear and this car really gets up there on the highway. Don’t think i’ll ever own one considering the price of these are a little out of my budget but nonetheless it’s really fun to drive and so many people look at you while you’re driving one. None the less it feels good driving a near $50,000 car when i work a $45,000 a year job

No one gets this car until you drive one. I didn't see the big deal, took one on a test drive, and ordered one immediately. Wasn't even in the market for a new car. That's how much I loved it

Regarding the location of the speedometer... the Toyota Echo also had a center-mounted speedometer. I drove an Echo for three years. I found it was pretty easy to get used to it after the first couple weeks.

One feature I can’t wait in future cars… they can drive themselves to a service appointment and you don’t have to deal with it! You can be at home or at work.
What about adding a 360 surround camera for parking? Most cars in this class ( and above) have the feature.
