Hey, when I try to do this my video comes out as a small rectangle, and I can’t add music, what do I do?

mine didn't upload as a short. it just uploaded as a normal video. yes, I have it as 9:16 and I added the tag #shorts. why is this happening and how can I fix it???

Don't work. Just a vertikal short "Normal" Video. Not listed in Shorts.

under appreciated by the masses. every other video on this subject if 16 mins of the creator repeating the same things over and over without *really* helping at all. very much appreciate your being short and concise
Just a PSA, you do not need to use #shorts at all, in any way, shape or form, at any point in your video, description, title, life, etc. Its not needed. The only requirements are vertical or square aspect ratio, and one minute or less. Everything else on here is very good info!

monitization this is a very good way to make money it has a very good chance to get a lot of views and theres very low chance for age restricting or copyright infringe ments

This hack does not insert the video into the Shorts UI.
Yes I had the same problem. It doesn't upload it as a short just a normal video that is vertical

It is amazing. I was struggle with mobile upload of shorts till I watched your video! UA-cam app continuously reset settings and I end up with low res video uploaded from time to time. You way of doing it so is so cool!
I did this and it did not put the video in my Shorts section.... it also added 2 seconds to my video in the timecode for some reason. Any ideas??
Finally, to the point and easy to follow. Watched handful of vids, none explained, and none mentioned the need for #shorts added. Not everyone is 14 who uses only their cell to make vids and shorts. Thanx.

after i uploaded with this method however, when i look at my channel the video I just uploaded isn't under the "shorts" category, but instead in the uploads section of my channel? Does that mean it's not a short even though it has #shorts in the description?

Don't want to show how many people don't like this? Well, YT needs to make their desktop version inclusive & stop discriminating against the old folks who don't use mobile phones. As far as the YT studio goes on mobile apps, that's not any good, either.

using the hashtag shorts is only working on videos like 10 sec long for me and not videos say 20 sec ect. Anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it? It's just posting the video as a regular video and not a short

how do we add music from the shorts library as we can on their mobile app? I try uploading from my mobile device but it will always downgrade the fps from 60 to 30 even on max quality uploads on my phone

Are you able to add music on UA-cam from there?
Right now, the desktop features do not include the shorts audio and other tools. You can technically upload a "short" video, but no, you cannot create shorts from a desktop 😥

This was just what I needed. When I upload a #shorts vid through my iPhone YT app it never gets converted to HD. It forever stays as SD (Standard Definition). I confirmed my YT app settings include Upload Quality = Full Quality. When I upload the SAME #shorts vid via the browser/desktop the vid gets converted to HD. Any idea what I might be doing wrong on the iPhone App? Unfortunately, the desktop workaround is only useful in cases where I don't want to use the app's #shorts features like adding music, text, etc. Cheers!

One thing I noticed. When I upload from a computer and i access my channel from another app, IG for example, from my channel homepage when I click on these shorts, the quality is horrible and the frame is shrunken down. But the shorts I uploaded with my phone look fine. Any idea why?
I would suspect it becomes stretched out when viewed on a larger screen

yeah , i always wondered about that - I heard UA-cam shorts do not like when there is a Tik Tok watermark in them. I am assuming it will just create a copyright match and now allow you to monetise that particular video.
