Attaching riders to bills should be made illegal. If your proposals can't stand on their own merits, they shouldn't be made into laws.
Catzilla also it’s ridiculous that it can be changed after one group has approved it.
it is actually one of the most effective ways to fund otherwise marginal causes that may have limited benefit to those who would want something in exchange to vote for that provision if it were to come up as a stand alone legislature. for example, there is little motivation for non texas politicians to vote for a provision to fund a salary increase for the border patrol agents, and indexing the salary rise to the CPI. however, it if were attached as a rider to a larger, bill such as a defense appropriations bill, it would likely pass.
the problem is riders attached to perfectly decent legislation to convert it into a poison pill that is done for political expedience.

I would love it if this was made illegal however, I don't actually know how to make it illegal. As an example if I pass a law that says "riders not allowed" anyone could argue any part of my bill is a rider. Really the only way to fix this is to elect politicians that enjoy writing and reading and working with legal code, even if they're worse speakers.

Going all in for Hillary all the time, without any criticism of her at all and there is plenty to criticize. Bernie Sanders was seemingly written off as a joke from the very beginning of the election cycle and jesus, they need to take it easy with all the Trump stuff.

Well, that probably won't work. Said bill to force 2 page bills, would probably be 1,345 pages which no one would read until they get ready to vote on it, and then find something that stops them from approving it.
Christian Smolin Bills are long because laws are complicated. You have to create a bill in a way that avoids as many loopholes and confusion as possible. Ironically by doing so you have to make it less concise.

As a Canadian, the only thing I can really keep thinking this past year and a bit is "God the Capital Building looks ugly while it's being restored. Any image shown since the project started has the donut and scaffolding all over it, you'd think that would be the perfect chance for other significant Washington locations to be used, such as the Mall, or any of the following memorials: Lincoln, Jefferson, MLK Jr., Vietnam Women's, even the FDR memorial.
