    Compost bin is a great idea. I'm sure you know but don't forget to add your left over fish carcasses. Fish is great for the soil.

    Before it turns cold y’all might want to get some horse or cow manure and till it into your garden beds so it can fertilize the soil for next spring.

    Love the water catchment area and the compost bin, i e recently installed 4 water tuts s we hadn’t had rain for ages and we had a hosepipe ban in Sussex, Uk, so installed the water butts from when we do get rain, we now have had lots of rain and the hosepipe ban had been lifted, I made a compost area from 3 pallets, it works well for me in an area were the sun doesn’t get it very much in my garden, I will be harvesting a few blueberries soon nearly ready but will have to wait next year for my lech tree to produce. Have a lovely week xxx

    Man oh man, you guys are getting a lot of work done this Summer .. what a team ... "maybe" considering getting a small chipper ... why? There is many things the clippings can be used for .. from compost to using some to make wood stove fire starter ... pads with glue and epoxies etc. lots. ... you could use it as bios mass to spread on the ground in the woods.. helping the little soil critters ... the mill sure is keen.

    While I am impressed with you using your brains as well as your back strength, I can tell you from experience, you need to do more, or you will pay a serious price one day, maybe soon, maybe later. You need to build a 6' wheeled dolly with a manual winch on it to raise the logs on one or both ends then roll them to where you want to load or use them. I have seen them used in small logging operation years ago, but don't know how to describe them, the log is slung under the device, simple yet so useful.

    • @OffgridwithJayandJen
      @OffgridwithJayandJen  10 місяців тому

      Silly thing is I have a Tractor for skidding logs....but I was only grabbing that one Log, LOL.....so I figured I could get it easy....was too big for what I did. I should get one of those devices you are talking about too....I can't think of the name either, LOL
