You may be suffering from Ulnar nerve dislocation
Ulnar nerve dislocation is a common cause of pain and or prickling sensation that is usually felt down the are and in the hands.
It occurs if the ulnar nerve dislocates slightly (subluxates) over the anterior aspect of the medial epicondyle during flexion and extension of the elbow. A "snap" may be heard or felt.
The ulnar nerve is one of the arm’s major nerves and is part of the brachial plexus nerve system. It gets its name from its location near the ulna bone, a bone in the forearm on the side of the pinkie finger.
It starts in the neck and travels through the shoulder down the arm into the wrist and fingers.
It provides sensation to the forearm and the fourth and fifth finger. It also innervates (stimulates) the flexor muscles of the hand, allowing it to bend and move.
The single most common cause is compression on the ulnar nerve. The compression may be a result of any of the following:
1️⃣ An activity that causes a person to bend and straighten the elbow joint repeatedly (ex. shoulder presses)
2️⃣ The ulnar nerve slipping out of place when the elbow is bent
3️⃣ Fluid buildup in the elbow
4️⃣ Current or previous injury to the inside of the elbow
5️⃣ Bone spurs in the elbow
6️⃣ Arthritis in the elbow or wrist
7️⃣ Swelling in the elbow or wrist joint
8️⃣ Leaning on the elbow for an extended period
In this video, SNU's clinic direct, Ceazar, describes what Ulnar nerve dislocation is, goes over ways you can treat it at home and how we typically treat the injury in our clinics.

Hey guys, I had a similar problem so I would like to contribute regarding my own experience. I also had clicking in my elbow and noticed it about 15 years ago and only 3 years ago I had surgery in both my arms. In my case it was snapping both ulnar nerve and triceps. They did a transposition for the nerves, but the surgeon chose not to operate on the triceps because it would have been too invasive..since as of now it doesn't hurt and is mostly just uncomfortable.
The nerves are now fine. Although the triceps still snaps, I'm still working out, and I've only limited the exercises where the triceps snaps.
You might wanna check out youtuber Sean Nalewanyj, he had this issue for like 11 years and still has an awesome physique. :)

Hey, I've been experiencing something that is similar but I'm not exactly sure if this is what it is. When doing weight lifting exercies such as pushups, bench press, or shoulder press, the outside of my elbow and the middle part of the top of my forearm (the same side as the back of my hand) will start to tingle. It's not like a hit my funny bone sensation, its more what you described of weird jolt like feelings being sent down the nerve, and they are pretty frequent, although they usually do not go past the wrist. They start at this area in the elbow and continue to the end of my forearm, and it gets to the point where it feels uncomfortable enough for me to stop the exercise, but there is no pain or numbness. This does not really happen during bicep curls for some reason, although it does happen during pullups. I don't necessarily feel any snapping in my elbow either, or at least not that I can notice. This started to gradually occur as I started weight lifting about two years ago, and I have tried taking breaks (a few months at a time) before and the problem has never gone away. Is snapping elbow what I am experiencing, or is it something different? I have seen a health doctor, a physical therapist, an orthopedic, and done a nerve study. The only thing that has yielded even any results was the nerve study, saying that my radial nerve was being disturbed by my muscles (I think that was the diagnosis), but I have not received any guidance on treatment. If anyone has any idea what this is, I am all ears. Thanks

I have the same issue. If I do hammer curls or pullups I get a nerve shooting sensation from the beginning of my elbow "nook" down the middle of my radial nerve out the thumb, index and sometimes middle finger. The area is sometimes numb. Had it just in my right arm in the beginning, now it has been occuring less and less on my right and my left is taking over. Ive just been "greasing" the grove with light reps over a couple of months.

    • @nofc7403
      @nofc7403 Рік тому +2

If your left arm won't fully lock then you might have tight surrounding muscles, if you can't lock out during workouts targeting the muscles surrounding the elbow then that should go away a bit after the session, if it doesn't you really wanna release those muscles, try to massage or stretch them, and don't overstretch I guess.

  • @yoshi1951

For me it feels bad on push ups and tricep extensions. So I do them wirh limited Rom to avoid snapping and push ups only really wide, so elbows don't have to go over 90 degree. Helped do get it a little better over 2 years and I can workout decently. I'm sure the nerves should be stretched out in daily activities for there health. So surgery won't work in the long term, because the nerve than never get stretched anymore and shortens over time even more. It's too unnatural for the nerve to lay inside the elbow all the time. Ulnar subluxation is not an illness per se, because it occurs in 15% of population. Most don't even notice it. I hope it get even better with avoiding the snapping under heavy load. But when it hurts even in daily activities I understand why people try surgery

The video states that what snaps is some tendon, which might be perfectly accurate for his case. BUT, the symptoms he talks about match perfectly with ulnar nerve subluxation, in which case it's the thing that is snapping is the ulnar nerve. I've just had surgery for this on one of my arms, it's not going away on it's own or with exercise, it's an anatomical problem.
Basically what I'm saying is please go see a professional and don't be surprised if you need a surgery.

I got this issue earlier this year. The only solution that works is surgery, which I have gotten on both my elbows. If you put this off, it will damage your nerve everytime it flicks, causing irreversible nerve damage. My surgeon said it will get to a point where moving the elbow is very very painful. Don't put it off, just get surgery.

I would highly suggest starting with corrective exercises with a good diet and lots of walking/low intensity cardio, so you can get in shape to do more complex movements.
