ORGANIC SALVE with LEMON BALM Can HEAL BURN and SCAR USING HERBS for TREATMENT LIKE a COMFREY PLANT

  • Burn and scare treatment! I didn't know how to treat a burn or prevent scarring and ended up using herbs for the healing process like the comfrey plant as an organic recipe comfrey salve with lemon balm, coconut oil, and beeswax. It has the plant material within it and not just the plants extracts so you might even want to consider it a poultice but it is a super creamy, smooth comfrey salve no doubt that has turned out to be my most effective natural remedy for so many things, even sunburns or bug bites. This is how I will heal a burn in the future off grid or on without doctors, hospitals, or electricity if ever in that situation again. Using dried herbs is more than just for eating food, they can prevent many ailments, heal, and make for healthier living on a daily basis. They can also be a natural remedy for just about anything if we learn how to use them properly. I don't know what to use for everything but I will continue drying plants or solar dehydrate herbs while I learn more new recipes with natural plants like these.
Enjoy and don't forget to SHARE so other can prepare for unforeseen events in their lives as well.
    This Recipe:
    3 Cups Organic Coconut Oil
1 Cup very finely ground Organic Comfrey powder
1 ounce very finely ground Organic Lemon Balm
    3 ounces Organic Beeswax
    Brew / Steep / Cook for 4 - 6 hours @ Less Than 215 degrees F.
May all your branches become full of fruit.

Hello to all. I thought I talked about the mill used in this vid and never responded to so many others asking about it because I mistakenly thought I had mentioned it and didn't want to continue repeating myself. I have since watched my own vid again and realized that I had in fact DID NOT mention or talk about it. Please accept my apologies. I have the model #116 from this small family company at this web address - grainmaker.com
I have also received an E-mail from a recipient of one of the jars of the very Comfrey Salve that I made during this video and wanted to share the testimony mail with others. Others have responded with similar experiences and this one is as follows and exactly as I received it minus his personal e-mail and last name:
"Hey, I hope yall are doing well. I dont know if you remember me but you sent me a jar of your comfrey salve as a gift for catching clues in a video. I wanted to let you know that stuff is awesome. I recently had a mishap while sharpening my chainsaw and instead of going to a doctor I pushed my skin back together and applied gauze and tape with this salve liberally applied. Within a week it has healed tremendously and the whole time it kept the pain to pretty much non existent. Well i figured i would drop you a line and let you know how much that has helped me and see how yall were doing especially with all this other stuff going on in the nation. John 16:33 in my NKJV Bible is a fitting verse for these times for sure. Well I hope all is well. Have a good day."
I Thank You for sharing Derek P.

Just a small tip for those who may not know- in order to get the most strength out of your herbs, pick them JUST BEFORE THEY BLOOM. This is when the plant is producing the most oil, so this is when it’s strongest. 😊

@annchong9701 in the morning just after the dew dries off the leaves. That's when it has the most oil in the leaves. As it gets hotter in the day some of the oils go to the stem and roots then back up again at night.

Good stuff.

I would take the stem and make a tincture, as it's been used internally for treating diarrhea, and it's been claimed to heal gastric ulcers, hemorrhoids, and to suppress bronchial congestion and inflammation. This way none of the plant is wasted.

Hi, I am Linda from Iceland.👋
Thank you very much for your demonstration and recipe.
I grow comfrey here and have used it before in a salve I made for someone who had a huge second degree burn on his leg. He used the salve after the wound had closed up and it healed very well.
I did use the traditional way of making the salve but like your way better and will apply it next time I'll do it. I love the thought of more potency. I do not have a lot of lemon balm but a little though and will definitely use that as well.

I have never had coconut oil go rancid either. It also has anti bacterial properties and excellent for oral oil pulling - which makes all the more sense to use in salves. Thanks for this because I was thinking coconut oil as I am about to make salve with my comfrey, and your video is the first that shows use of coconut oil vs olive oil. I pick up those small electric coffee grinders at Goodwill for average $4 ea.

I can't even tell you how excited I was to find this video (and your whole channel)! I have a 2-gallon jar full of dried (but not yet crushed) lemon balm leaves from my herb garden last year -- honestly didn't know what I was going to do with them since I'm still a beginner with herbs, but now I know exactly what I'll use them for! And my comfrey crown that I bought last May from a local farmwife & planted (which grew into a huge bush within a month!) is already coming back from the winter, so I imagine I'll have lots of comfrey leaves in another month or so.
I'm sending my deepest appreciation and many thank-yous!!

Another way to ensure suspension of ground plant material is to cool the mix almost til gel consistency. Then mix. Or, cool to consistency of softened butter, then use a hand mixer, kitchenaid or stick blender.
Basically it's like making herbed butter. The final product will need to be scooped into jars and packed like brown sugar with the bottom of a measuring cup slightly smaller than the opening of the jar.
Thanks for the recipe. It helped my 2nd degree burn. I don't think it would have left a scar if I'd gotten to it sooner. As it is it's still quite faded.

Great tips and I will definitely be trying this out next year. So kind of funny story…
I moved out of the big city of Toronto and onto a country property near Ottawa - the capital of Canada. Before I moved, about a dozen years ago now, a coworker friend gave me a native plant from his garden and I forgot what he said it was all this time. It’s been growing and thriving in the spot I planted it and this year another friend from the city asked how it was doing, then told me about an app I could use on my phone to identify plants I’m unsure about. Not being techie and only getting a fancy “smart” phone last year, I didn’t know about such wonders. Well, turns out it is comfrey. I’ve made salves with plantain from my yard before that is also good for wounds and sunburn, but I am excited to make this out of my now not-so-mystery plant. I confess that I won’t pulverize the leaves to the degree you have though and just be lazy and crunch them up and put them with coconut oil in my big crockpot. I do have an air fryer oven I can use as a dehydrator so I will do that first.
Thanks for sharing and blessings to you from Canada!

Me either, and what I like about adding it into my salve is I love the smell. Preferred over adding essential oils.

I would add Jojoba oil myself to extend the shelf life of the coconut oil. Jojoba oil shelf life is 2-3 years and fractionated coconut oil is only 12 months. So, if you have organic unrefined etc. etc. we don't know the shelf life 😂 Adding Jojoba oil will help 🙏🏾

This was great, thank you. I am going to try it, I make my own salves and have several bocking 14 plants. I like cottonwood bud salve for pain but will mix these together and try.

Appreciate your sharing! I’m drying my comfrey now.. and hope to follow your method of grinding the plants to make the salve more potent. 👍 I don’t have lemon balm but might add some yarrow instead, and maybe some essential oils. Good stuff for sure. Thanks again!

Comfrey is such a miracle herb haven’t found the perfect place in my garden to grow it yet due to our very hot summers so this year it will be morning sun and afternoon shade and hope it’s happier as well as protecting it from what ever it is that loves to eat it…I’ve made it in the past but never as powerful a recipe as yours or with lemon balm…excited to put your recipe in my collection…as always very detailed information and great teaching…thank you and stay blessed

Question: What makes beeswax organic or not? The bees get their pollen from anywhere they want including non-organic flowers.

    • @3basketliving
      @3basketliving  Рік тому +1

That is a very good question. Short answer is I really don't know. I just know when I purchased it that it was advertised as 'organic and when it arrived in the mail, the package claimed it to be 'organic' as well. I'm not sure how I would ever come to know either way. Cheers!

    • @clarkl4177
      @clarkl4177 Рік тому +4

Your sense is correct: there's NO SUCH thing, actually 😮 There's not a way to verify "organic" honey or wax. Just buy it from small, American producers 👍
