From 10:05 you mentioned 2011-2015 is a bargain of a century and it surely is. I got myself a Gen 4 2014 model for 11000 AUD with quickshifter and a full system. Simply love it! These bikes especially Gen 4 is very underrated. The rider needs to work as you mentioned but that is the enjoyment and achievement once you get what you need.
What a great review, thank you for the history. I went on gumtree and found a gem of a 2011 model with full exhaust, power commander and many more upgrades for $10,000 AUD
Good review. Must admit looking forward to what Neeves has to say. But this has my attention when I'd previously dismiss it. Do some 'easy' yoga - yes yoga not weight training - four or five times a week. Suppleness and core strength and I bet you'd enjoy this even more.
His arguments about the zx10r don't make any sense at all imho. Like the zx10r is not good but the rr version is great, wtf. You can flash the ecu to get autoblip for 100 bucks and the weight difference between the two models is like 2kg nothing but the wheels and the exhaust. Btw I own a zx10r and I think it has the best price/performance ratio. I remember the first time I jumped on it I felt like I was on a bicycle, light as a feather.
arkama67 yeah this dude is an idiot the 10R an the RR have the same front suspension and same Forks is pretty much the same . The wheels and the autoblip
If you can point out where I said the R isn't any good I'd agree with you, but I didn't! 'A very good bike' were the exact words used, I was just pointing out that I got on with the RR better as the wheels and blipper make a big difference on track as the unsprung-weight loss makes it more agile. Lose 2kg off the rest of the bike, meh, lose it off the wheels - big difference. As for the (2016 onwards) ZX being (or feeling) light as a feather, dude, words never uttered by anyone who does this job anywhere in the world ever who has ridden pretty much any competitor bike. If it feels that way to you, and you're not just taking umbrage because you own one, then you are one strong fella! ;-)
Lighter wheels = less unsprung-weight = far quicker and more accurate steering, and the blipper releases more personal concentration computation for corner entry, ergo, those two things make a huge difference to the ride, feel and performance of the bike while making the rider's job easier - pure physics and biology. And you forgot the word 'complete' before the word 'idiot', if you're going to blithely chuck insults about I insist you at least do it properly! ;-)
Dude I cannot begin to fathom your reasoning since I'm only a mere consumer and don't have the luxury to have a magazine flying me near the manufacturers to try new bikes. Yes your points are valid less unsprung mass is better dah yeah autoblip is a must. But I agree with FMJ88 it is essentially the same bike, same core same engine same fork. You cannot say the zx10r doesn't cut it with the competition but one year later they nailed it because rr marketing with wheels and autoblip those two things are only options on the bike.
Bro if you plan on making some serious power the RR is the way to go, no the engines are not excactly the same, the RR has stiffer valve springs, the tappets have a friction reducing coating on them and more importantly, the heads on the RR are factory machined to except high lift cams then you through in the lightweight wheels and auto blipper and when you consider what it would cost to have all that work done on a 10R you'd realize how good of a deal the RR is, throw in a set of race cams, increase rev limit, some bolt on's and you're looking at a 220whp bike with a RR, can't do that with the 10R without machining the head. So there are reasons why a RR may be considered worth it's price, you may not see it but the smarter people do...no offence
Come one, its pretty obvious that the manufacturers pay for the airfare, hotel, and the rest of it. There are very few publications in any sphere which does not take industry money - The Economist, for example.
'Take money'? Yes 'they' get you out to these places because they want reviews and coverage of 'their' product - pretty much like any product every made ever, no matter what it is or in whatever industry. But not every single time though, we've done a few over the years where you pay your own way completely and, if like Bike World you're going from one launch to another as they were here, you pay for that yourself. But we don't get 'paid' to go out there and review a bike by manufacturers, this isn't the 1970s & '80s anymore...
Bike World so nothing was paid for by Kawasaki? No food, travel, hotels, goody bags etc? No I don’t pay for this but in the interests of good and reputable journalism the viewer needs to know if you have had any input from the manufacturer of the products you review. This isn’t some old magazine where the readership can have the wool pulled over their eyes. It’s just good practice to disclose any collusion with a manufacturer. A lot of people buy bikes on the reviews they read and to have ANY paid input is in my view a conflict of interests. It’s the reason manufacturers pay for holidays and give out incentives for a good review. They’re not giving you stuff for free, they’re expecting something in return. The problems with bikes usually come out when the punter buys it and gets it home anyway. So they’re not going to trust the publicity from a “review” next time they buy. Disclosure is the modern way and the only way to fair reviews.
I've noticed. And when it comes to reviews you should take all the awards.the content is clear and precise. I can buy anything you put a stamp of approval on..keep up the great work..
Less false neutrals would be the first box I'd want ticked and then comes that atrocious dash/tach... Fulgy as heck and I wouldn't touch it when the other choices out there are devastating when compared to this bike. IMHO
I dont want more lowdown grunt, its already good as it is. Plus, tht feature will help a lot of non expert rider to have a learning curve while having a 1 litre bike
That was an excellent overview! The LCD instruments are dated and not always easy to read, but tiny TFTs (for me) are often harder to read at a glance. The rainbow tachometer was a nice feature, very visible, too bad it didn't stay with the 2021s.
The standard 16/17 zx10r all you need is link pipe akra or whatever pipe you prefer with a race filter , get it tuned and enable the auto blip downshift which is there from factory. Get the suspension dialled in for you. Go buy light weight wheels when you have enough cash and you've just saved yourself the cost of buying a zx10rr and it was cheaper . Change a sprocket for whatever track you go to and you wont complain about mid range. When you remove factory restrictions the bike really does come alive .
Jeff Smith True , the only thing that is off significance is those wheels. My 10 is well sorted and with the tune and akra its perfect . Get some light weight wheels later on and perfect.
Awesome review! I’ve had a 2013 with full akro, tune and ohlins front and rear and always thought they were a lot of bike for the $, this tempts me though!
Wonderful review. I'm coming off a ZX-10RR and have an order on a Panigale V4S, but like you guys I'm impressed with this bike and looking forward to what Kawasaki has in store for their next generation ZX. I might end up back in team green when that comes out.
Great review. I never understand the issue re the screen. Yes agreed it's not an expected tft but honestly I never look at the gauges . Didn't look at it thirty yrs ago when I started riding rarely do it now.
Horses for courses. I have to say that I love looking at my dash on the XSR 900. I love the simplicity, the off-centre design, and the neo-retro look to the digital counter.
Personally I agree with you completely, I couldn't give a monkey's left nut about a dash (although I do like a good rev-counter!), nor what a bike even looks like for that matter - how it makes me feel is the kicker. But from a work perspective, given it costs the same as others and what the majority of consumers expect for near £19k, it's a miss, no getting away from it.
Agree 100% Who gives a f*** as long as the bike rides as is does? I think people who complain about the cockpit should go buy a Ducati or a Harley Davidson, or something similar. You buy a Kawasaki for the performance, everything else is secondary.
Sometimes it feels like critics can´t find any real issue to complain about and being fanboys of another brand, they fall back on the old "Meeh I don't like the colour of the speedo-cable"..
There are some excellent channels out there (Revzilla, FortNine, Chaos Cause, The Illestrator (sic), 44 Teeth, Motorrad, to name a few.), and you guys are certainly in that top tier list too.
If you take a closer look at the competition I.E. the Ducati Panigale R, the ZX10R SE is super cheap. In WSBK it has been dominating for years, its 1000ccm where as the Ducati is 1300ccm (Imagine a 1300ccm unrestricted kawa - Would be running circles around the Panigale R). This obvious 30% size-handicap we never hear about, even though it has always been engine size that decides if a "bike 1 vs bike 2" is fair.. Anyone remember the ZX7R? Got so heavily restricted in racing (Otherwise the Ducati´s wouldnt be able to compete) - That Kawasaki finally had enough and did WSBK racing instead.
If you properly setup all of the major super bikes for most HP and power etc... The zx10r will outrun the others I've seen it happen !! This bike is an absolute missle especially on a drag race situation!! Go visit EJR PERFORMANCES CHANNEL you'll see he outruns everything including H2's with a stock Internal engine!!
"And 2006 came and she put on a bit of weight and got a bit fat." Sounds like he's describing my wife! (Typing while nervously looking over my shoulder) 😂😁
Really great review 👏 I've literally just px my 2013 CBR600RR for a 2015 30th anniversary ZX10R it gets delivered on the 29th I really can't wait 😁🙌I wanted a fireblade SP1 but newborn and house move forced me to look elsewhere and found the kwaka at what I think is a bargain at less than 9k,and only 10.000 on the clock with an ackra exhaust, ridden lots of litre bikes and a few of the newest but never a kawasaki
Admit it, feeble every-day-street rider: This ZX-10R SE is 10x better performance than your best day, so stop quibbling over how many gnat's hairs width increments better an R1/GSXR/CBR/S1K/V4R is than this. :)
Its funny how you say its a big girl. Its no bigger than the model before it. But the model before had minimal frontal fairing. Racers fitted bigger fairings to the older version so kawasaki met their needs. It does look bigger i admit and it does take more effort to make same lap times as some competitors. Im 6 foot 4 and i love the riding position so i was suprised you didnt like that. These zx10s need the rear spring to be spot on for your weight. It makes the bike alot easier to ride hard
For long journeys regarding the foot to seat thingy, having done big mileage on a stocker (and the previous model was the same), after a few hours it becomes a bit much on the hips! For track riding it's completely fine.
How can you say the 2016 doesn't cut it you guys are crazy my zx10r blows everything out of the water the s1000rr doesn't ever beat me I have no problems in the low down Department mine goes like a bat out of hell get your reviews straight
Given I've been testing bikes, professionally, for 20 years, and that basically all other reviews (especially group reviews) back this up over years and years since the introduction of this ZX in 2011, I'll stick to these opinions, ta... BTW, if you're beating those other bikes, it's you, not the bike, so props to you man!
What is the difference between this and the H2 SX SE. I know that the one is supercharged but what else? Is the H2 SX SE worth that much more than this bike ?
At that price, it does nothing for me. I'm not fast enough for a lot of that stuff to matter. Hardly anybody is. So for that money i want something special. Not an inline 4 that sounds the same as every other crotch rocket on the road. And i want a TFT display. That being said I believe it's a FANTASTIC and formidable bike. And prices tend to self-adjust. It'll come down quickly in the US when they don't sell as well as R1Ms and Aprilias and Ducatis.
Everyone, including myself, complains about the outdated speedometer but you have to admit, when RACING, its the best tachometer to have out of all the bikes!
Wow...nice hair cut. Use to own one of those green machines. Couldn't get to power on the road and it killed my right hand, shoulder and ass. Stupid road bike.
I don't know how much it cost them to implement the fancy suspension, but that crusty old dash needs to go. Even 10 year old LED screen technology would be a massive improvement over that archaic eyesore we call a tachometer. I'm with you guy *it's not good enough*
The new colour "TFT" so-called dashes are also LCD. They should really be called colour LCD versus b&w LCD. A bit like almost all wheels have spokes and the o/r style should be stated as "wire spoked". ;)
The R1M will hold it's value far better than the ZX10 will and for 1k more it's well worth it, also it'll be faster on a track as the ZX10 gearbox seems to suite no track I know of.
I like that point! "Having to throw the anchor on them to slow them down" kawasaki for many years struggled to win wsbk champ. Why dont the other manufactures catch up.
listen to me don't waste your money on this bs zx10r I brought one and was totally un happy the seat is hard is hell the bike does not have any bottom end and to be real the only way you really going enjoy the bike is if you put almost 3k into the bike to make it what a r1 or bmw already is
The channel logo on a wide screen got me crazy. I thought it was a stain on my screen 😅...Great video btw as I am buying a newbike... thanks for the review
From 10:05 you mentioned 2011-2015 is a bargain of a century and it surely is. I got myself a Gen 4 2014 model for 11000 AUD with quickshifter and a full system. Simply love it! Boom!
Got a gen 3, 15k miles zx10r for $4500. Thanks to offer up app lol
Your review are just perfect. Great road/track choice ,quality is outstanding.
Thanks Vincent, these go on TV so we need to keep the quality up.
I love Kawasaki and I would always buy a 10r again!
The 10r SE is a very good update
AeroR Entertainment
Excellent review!!!
Nothing like the 10r, I will keep my 2013 for another 2 years and then grab the 2020 .
@@boscohemi3874 I'll keep my 2008 for another 5 years and do the same lol
instablaster.
What a great review, thank you for the history. I went on gumtree and found a gem of a 2011 model with full exhaust, power commander and many more upgrades for $10,000 AUD
Sweet!
I must say, out of all the various publications and channels doing reviews, you guys consistently do the best job.
Cheers
Thank you QQ!
And no, I’ve made my mind up already, before I’ve even seen it because it’s a Kawasaki, unlike other journalists
I agree
BJ, really nice review! Keep them coming. I cannot stop watching every blog you posted! Cheers!
Much appreciated!
Good honest review. Excellent.
Ta!

Previous injuries don't help, but funny enough I was thinking of Yoga!
Japanese engineering, Can’t beat it.
Really, really good review.
Thanks

What a bike....I want this bike.... it's really Damm beauty
Nice job.

i would like to ask which is better.. a zx10rr or zx10 r se?
SE all day long! Some great bits from the RR and the Showa suspension is literally unbelievably good.
That suspension sounds phenomenal, "Yeshua/Jesus is the way"
Song? anyone?
A crap o vich?
This is the best superbike in 2018?
We'll find out after SBOTY!
Super!
You're paying $22K to ride a suspension test mule for the next gen ZX. Save your money.
which song plz ?
Bike is great, but the design was not uptodate, even if its look good
Really? Really !
Headlight, one on is horrible!
I bet this is expensive lol
Who paid for the holiday? Advertisement or review? Please say, the viewers should know!
Nobody paid, this cost us to go. It's not a holiday by the way, it's f*cking hard work and have we charged you anything for this?
Come one, its pretty obvious that the manufacturers pay for the airfare, hotel, and the rest of it. There are very few publications in any sphere which does not take industry money - The Economist, for example.

YAAWWWWnnnnn.... another boring inline 4.
PPFFTT !!
I think I'll hang on to my 2016 Panigale 1299
Great informal review. Very honest and that came through 👍
Would love to see you guys to a Supernaked shoot out, MCN’s is a bit rubbish.
Cheers Jim, that's something we're working on...
Thanks Jim!
I'm with Jim
Excellent review!
Cheers Slade!
The bike is butter smooth 👌 another beautiful masterpiece from Ninja.... Dark Beauty....😍😍
I've noticed. And when it comes to reviews you should take all the awards.the content is clear and precise. I can buy anything you put a stamp of approval on..keep up the great work..
Thanks Vincent!
Advice to kawasaki:
1. New dash
2. More lowdown grunt
And make it weight under 200KG (like the Gen4 @198kg)
Less false neutrals would be the first box I'd want ticked and then comes that atrocious dash/tach... Fulgy as heck and I wouldn't touch it when the other choices out there are devastating when compared to this bike. IMHO
Don’t forget the weight issue right now with the ZX10r
I dont want more lowdown grunt, its already good as it is. Plus, tht feature will help a lot of non expert rider to have a learning curve while having a 1 litre bike
That was an excellent overview! The LCD instruments are dated and not always easy to read, but tiny TFTs (for me) are often harder to read at a glance. The rainbow tachometer was a nice feature, very visible, too bad it didn't stay with the 2021s.
Cheers Ricardo!
I have a 2017 ZX 10 RR, The complaint of having no low end grunt,, goes away after you drop 1-2 teeth from the front sprocket and get the ECU Flashed
Yep it does you're bang on, something we have done to longtermer ZXs in the past too!
Would you suggest that to any year zx10r? I have the 2008 zx10r
Brutally candid review. Keep them coming.
Pleasure!
Spot on!
I like how the zx10 isnt enough but the RR is where it’s at. Lol 13K vs 19K
Jeff Smith True , the only thing that is off significance is those wheels. My 10 is well sorted and with the tune and akra its perfect . Get some light weight wheels later on and perfect.
Jeff Smith here in the Philippines, the zx10r is about $16,000+ assuming $1=50pesos, while the zx10rr is $18,000+.
The zx10RR has a race ready engine and transmission.....so it's not as close to a regular zx10r ....
Awesome review! I’ve had a 2013 with full akro, tune and ohlins front and rear and always thought they were a lot of bike for the $, this tempts me though!
Sounds like you've already got a serious weapon there buddy!
to be honest the 2011 to 2015 zx10 were much better looking but I have to give it to kawi they did improve on the bikes performance overall
It's so aesthetically pleasing
Did... Anyone else notice the random circle at 2:39?
Wonderful review. I'm coming off a ZX-10RR and have an order on a Panigale V4S, but like you guys I'm impressed with this bike and looking forward to what Kawasaki has in store for their next generation ZX. I might end up back in team green when that comes out.
Xmasochist bro you did a good choice v4s is the best MACHINE you can get In the road enjoy that Italian beauty 😉

Fantastic review👍
Cheers!
I've had a go on the new zx10R and it's a good bike but that dash is garbage. It's like the display from a 1980s calculator.
I would never get any bike that has dual head-lights but only one side comes on, looking like you are riding around with a burnt out bulb.
Why u say 20k is expensive? This is better and more fun any supercar in the world.
"And 2006 came and she put on a bit of weight and got a bit fat." Sounds like he's describing my wife!

Drop two teeth from the front sprocket.
Get ECU flashed.
Full AKRO Exhaust.
I have a 17 ZX 10-RR
What he said... :-)
What is the difference between this and the H2 SX SE. I know that the one is supercharged but what else? Is the H2 SX SE worth that much more than this bike ?
That's a super tourer, this is pure sportsbike.
Someone is selling this in my country with only 3k usd but iam too broke
do you guys think this is a better bike than the Ducati Panigale v4?
still think the 2008 one is one of the best looking super bikes you can get, especially in full black
I liked it in orange!
Wow...nice hair cut. Use to own one of those green machines. Couldn't get to power on the road and it killed my right hand, shoulder and ass. Stupid road bike.
The ZX does seem to suit riders of a specific stature.
2011 ZX 10 r is best
It is a VERY good bike!
Bought the skinny zx10r 2008 for $4500 with 16k miles thanks offer up and craigslist! Lol
Ooo, that was a good one!
A bit like almost all wheels have spokes and the o/r style should be stated as "wire spoked". ;)
(It didn’t quite cut it against the competition) yet its won the wsbk title 3 years in a row!, makes you wonder if there’s a bias here.
Comparing standard production bikes with racing results is a pointless endeavor, even when it comes to Superstock classes.
Great review and honest pick up mine next week can’t wait 😛
all the lower displacements are going LED, but this looks like a halogen lamp?
Do I like it? Yes! But I will be honest... it's shit. xD
The R1M will hold it's value far better than the ZX10 will and for 1k more it's well worth it, also it'll be faster on a track as the ZX10 gearbox seems to suite no track I know of.
You guys have gut to complain. Not like other channel, they dont hve ball. U have a really big one. Hehehe
Jajie Razi guess you don't watch 44 teeth
They need to update the looks and weight then Ill buy one.
I like that point! "Having to throw the anchor on them to slow them down" kawasaki for many years struggled to win wsbk champ. Why dont the other manufactures catch up.
listen to me don't waste your money on this bs zx10r I brought one and was totally un happy the seat is hard is hell the bike does not have any bottom end and to be real the only way you really going enjoy the bike is if you put almost 3k into the bike to make it what a r1 or bmw already is
A very good review unlike American test riders where they over dramatize and talk shit keep good work up mate
Cheers Russell!
what is the music at 11:15? As excellent as the video was.
This is America. Don't say Zed.
Dash ismeant for riders/racers. Its RR after all.
The channel logo on a wide screen got me crazy. I thought it was a stain on my screen 😅...Great video btw as I am buying a newbike... thanks for the review
I know Kawasaki should come with tft displays but that rpm and shift lights look awesome they don't need to change rpm meter
Nice review, Kawasaki should change dashboard for a TFT, and it's on par with all others.
Kawasaki is becoming killer year by year and s1000r is getting Old
Excellent review. Informal for every day riders, honest for track riders and just good bike knowledge. Cheers!
oh, i just noticed the zx-10r key are the same design as the ninja H2
Smashing review. I love the area around Almeria track. Stunning spaghetti western country!
Is there a new model Kawasaki zx10r coming out within a two year period
The seat cowl looks crap but the rest looks ok
Great review guys! I can't wait to get out and test ride one of these babies.
It's dog shit with the restricted ECU.
Even these bikes seem cheap compared to Harley’s... I spent too much of my life being a Harley guy lol fml
...what exactly are you doing with the handlebars at 3:30?
Ummm, holding them?! ;-)
