    3:45 for the list.
    Thanks for watching!!

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments and your affection for this bike.
I bought a '22 last summer and like your candy brown, never thought a blue cycle would appeal to me. But yes! The paint job, the sparkle of the metallic flakes is superb...makes sigh.
    Thanks for your videos! audie

I was 20 years old in 1972 when the first Z1 900 came out. Our local dealer had 5 of them. 3 of my friends bought them the first day. 2 days later when I got there they were gone!. At 20 feet away, this one could pass for a '72! The black engine w/contrasting hardware looks great, as does the polished edge of the rims! The design is timeless. It's sad Honda did such a poor job on the CB1000. This is just the way I remember bikes being built in the 70's. My first GoldWing was a standard in 1975. Cherry red, no fairing or anything else! Spoke wheels, steel fenders. I rode 42,000 miles in 2 years on that bike! My '79 GoldWing 60,000 in 3 years. My keeper, 1978 BMW R100RS Grey market Belgium police bike has 400,000+. I've had probably 30 other bikes also, but never the Z1. I think that's going to change, because I really like this one!! Ride safe.... --gary

I just got mine 4 months ago and man do I love this bike! Love the way it pulls all the way thru the rev range. I put an Acropovic header on it and it noticeably boosts HP and torque. Thanks for all the videos, you helped me narrow things down and the test rides sealed it. Best bike in the retro class hands down.

I'm a huge V-Twin sucker, always had only Moto Guzzi and Aprilia, never hated japanese bikes but never actually consider buy one. This is the first bike that makes me legit drool, like you said that color is fantastic, it's probably the best color scheme I've seen on a motorcycle, under the sun is simply majestic it looks like a high-end custom paint job. Well, that said I hope one day I will be able to add this beast in my stable. Enjoy your Z900RS man, great video.

I have just over 1,000 miles on my new Z900RS and have to confess, the more I ride the bike, the more I like it. As mentioned in another of your videos, this bike seems to do so many things so very well. The engine was the real surprise for me. Practically butter-smooth at all RPM's and so useable. I wanted (really wanted....) a 1973 Z1 when I was a lad of 20 years old. So happy that this bike has been introduced. Your comments are spot-on!!

Thanks for the video - Ive had my z900rs for about a month now. Wonderful bike! I hadn't thought about the welds and bolts until I saw this video - very good point that Kawasaki went above and beyond with this bike. One complaint on the bike I had was the low gearing so I installed a 16-tooth counter sprocket...WOW, what a difference that makes in smoothness and feel. :)

Just bought the cafe. Hands down it's the best bike I've ridden stock. My only personal complaint is the shock was too soft but some fiddling fixed that. Also I'd like the footpegs to be about 2 inches higher. Aside from that I've never bought a bike off the floor with an exhaust that made me think ' I dont really need to change that' well worth the spend.

I'm waiting for my 2020 Z900 Cafe to arrive. This will be after a long hiatus from Kawasski. My first was a new 1972 H1 500 triple. Then a 76 H2 to a 82 Kz1000J which I had for 18 years. After 20 more years of American brands I wanted to get back to what gave me the most enjoyment. Let the good times roll. Ride like your invisible. Be safe my 2 wheelin buds!

    Hey guys,
I've ALWAYS wanted this bike since I was a young kid, but I was only 13 years old when it came out. Been having mini-bikes, go-carts, dirt bikes, sport cruisers, and my favorite of all was my 1991 Harley Davidson Low Rider Custom (Wine-berry Pearl Coat custom paint job), but it wasn't big enough for me (6' 1/2" tall at 245 lbs.). LOL 😂
Besides that, I was an Old Muscle Car guy (1969 AMX, 1969 Pontiac Lemans, 1981 Ford F-100 long bed 490 w/2 750 Holley cars, and two nitros bottles mounted in the bed. It was Silver with a custom striping kit and it was called the "Silver Bullet", which fit perfectly. 😂
Hopefully I will be picking up my new Kawasaki Z900RS on the first 🥇 week of May. It the BLACK with BLUE STRIPES, which I totally LOVE! Very CLASSY and SPORTY! It's definitely a looker and I can promise that more people would be likely to stop by and take a look at it than they would a brown motorcycle 🏍️. Just my opinion!
ALWAYS bought black, even though it's hard to keep clean. But when it's cleaned and polished, it cannot be compared to. Then again I loved my Wine-berry Pearl Coat paint job by the well-known Jimmy Davis in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was famous for car and bike show work and his work cost a small fortune. My tank and two fender for my 1991 HD Low Rider Custom Wine-berry Pearl Coat cost me $2,500 USD and that was back in 1997. Sadly Jimmy passed away! Rest in Peace, warrior, as you are sorely missed by your family and friends and definitely the industry.
Will NEVER buy a brown car or motorcycle! I have ALWAYS gone with the fashionable and beautiful black. It brings out the chrome and just CANNOT be beaten. Just my personal opinion!!!
Will post some pictures next week! Take care everyone and please be safe!
God bless 🙏 all of you and your families!

I agree with your very first point, the colour scheme is fantastic. I have loved Kawasakis since I was a kid, every bike except one that I’ve had has been a Kawasaki. I’ve always said I will get a green one and I gave myself another chance last week. What did I go for? The very same one as yours lol. Moving down from the GTR1400 (Concours) to this but I am not regretting it one bit.

So you still love it after owning it for a while? My Jaffa has done 18,000 kms now since March 2018.
I’ve got the Kawasaki grab rail, heated grips and centre stand, and Booster Plug to fix the snatchy throttle, getting a ECU reflash when it runs out of warranty in March 2020.
I’ve done a few track days, it would jump from 5th to 4th when accelerating hard at the track but never on the road, that was a real concern until I changed to fully synthetic Motul 7100 and that seems to have fixed the problem, probably because the oil gets real hot at the track and synthetic has fixed it.
Changed to Bridgestone S22 tyres, big improvement over OEM Dunlops.
Some guys change the exhaust, but why bother, it’s perfect as it is. It’s just right like you say.
We get LED indicators and ignition immobiliser, apparently you don’t get them in USA, but we don’t get the helmet lock.
So yeah, I still love my bike, the smoothness, the color, the brakes, handling, torque, that power rush and noise above 7,000 rpm, the ability to just cruise if you want. Everyone wants to talk about it when you pull up.

Nice review. One feature I noticed immediately was the soft rear brake. I found that I have to exert a lot of force to engage the rear brakes. Being as that this is an essential component of a well designed machine, I feel Kawasaki dropped the ball here. By the way, I'm not a fan of the brake reservoir either. I like to slide back on the seat to stretch out my arms on longer days in the saddle, so that bump in the seat could have been back a little farther or more gradual for my tastes. The touchy throttle doesn't bother me as I have adapted to it. As far as the lighting at night at speed, I feel a set of Denali's would improve visibility a lot.
I have added the Akra header while retaining the stock silencer for improved performance and a deeper voice.
    Thanks for your work.

I think I would struggle with having no wind protection and no fairing. I'm torn between the RS Cafe and a new 17 ZX14R. I like the black 900RS because the wheels are all black and I like the graphics on it better. An Akropovic header is a must on this bike!

I'm in..clicked the "notifications bell", so keep the vids coming ;) If all goes well, I hope to have the RS next season. A 2nd bike is such an extravagance it has to take a back seat to everything else :( I need a big touring bike as my main ride.

I think they nailed it with this bike. It’s the Goldilocks of bikes, not too sporty , not too retro. It’s just a great all a rounder at a good price. Plus it has 101 on the dynojet. I’m going for the black one. But i wanted to ask you about the “snatchy” throttle. Do you experience this?

    • @ws6man96
      @ws6man96  6 років тому +2

Jool Thanks for watching and I agree with you 100%. The throttle can be snatchy especially in the lower gears but I've adjusted. I hardly notice it now. Most new bikes with fuel injection and the new throttle wires/cables I've ridden have some sort of twitchy throttle characteristic. It's nothing I haven't been able to re adjust to.

Love seeing an owner's perspective on this bike. I had stopped in to my local kawi dealer for oil and filter on ninja 650 and I thought this bike looked so much better in person. The pictures and video just dont do it justice. Ws6man96, do you think this bike's power would be too much of a difference to handle coming from a ninja 650? In terms of a rider I'm in my mid 30's mostly mature rider although I love to wring out my bike in the right setting from time to time but dont look to be stupid about it.

    • @ws6man96

It should have really good fit and finish for the price they ask for it. And the vents on the engine arent for nothing, they help cool the engine. I don't get why this bike is a few grand more than the more modern z 900. Its like Kawasaki is charging way more just because it has a retro design.
