It’s always an honor guest hosting GOTD! Thank you for having me! To clear things up for those of you asking, it’s a 60s Les Paul Standard made in 2022. 😊🤘 Happy playing everyone!!!
I think it was because the case wasn't the new brown ones with just the logo that confused people. I was impressed by the tone of the 60s gibson. It sounds like a les paul suited to Fleetwood mac etc. I bought my 2013 les paul before the new era, and because there was not the modern improvement of the agnesi era I bought it as a creative project to turn it into what I felt a les paul should be. All that is left of the guitar originally is the wooden husk. I imagined if I had been ordering a guitar in 1960 but the custom shop was there then. So I had a new nitro burst shot for the top based of a photo of the Perry burst, but as if it had been painted 2 tone like the late 50's fender strats with a gradual fade. Things like the aged nitro on the back I borrowed from the dark backs of the gold top era that never seemed to feature on the original burst era, and the pickups feature paf tributes from a local company whose products are very exciting at the moment. The fretboard is the underrated baked maple a more eco feature of the modern lawsuit era and the wiring and tuners trad spec. In total it cost 2700 pounds uk sterling for the whole thing and I thought you might like to hear it feature on my solo albums on my UA-cam channel. If you like original and covers music like Cash Cohen radiohead Nirvana etc plus good music dj ing as well there is much on there. It is not the contents quality I am having difficulty with - it is the UA-cam algorithm that is making it difficult to reach people. Norms is my favourite channel and I contacted norms to try to forge an alliance between like minded quality content when the algorithm is bogged down by people watching themselves play computer games incessantly. If you watch and like my content please recommend to someone you think also might like it - help beat the algorithm. There is alot of good music that at the time made it big in Britain, but America had such a dominant music scene you may not have heard it over there. My mission is to bring good music across the pond to you all. I am a post impressionist artist so I feature that on the channel too. I made the whole thing with a guitar a phone and a paintbrush. Gotd is a hugely great enjoyment ever day and I like many others in the audience always look forward to your guest hosting Angela. I have another friend called Angela - she is Keith Richards daughter. I imagine you both love the Stones' Song. Enjoy the Cat channel and keep doing what you're doing - you might like my turn of the millennium 000 0M Martin (made in nazareth featured on my albums as well. I know you are also a big Martin fan. Take care Angela from here over the pond in Britain. The Cat
Ps I designed the recarved neck (forgot to say)
You've got your own channel?! Whooooo
@@SuperFurry100 my channel is the same as my name at the top 25 albums of mixtape dj ing 3 and a half albums of orignal songs and covers strange pointless artistic videos, toy vegetables etc under the Cat with no teeth on UA-cam sorry if I was a bit vague. the Cat...TM.
@@SuperFurry100 ps my name is Alan.
I too have the 60’s standard in bourbon burst, bought it new in ‘19 and I love it more every time I play it. Awesome guitar 🤟
I have a '19 Bourbon Burst Standard '60s pretty much identical to the one Angela played. It's hands down the best Les Paul out of 5 I've owned. If you like the Slim Taper neck (which I do) on a Lester, this is THE ONE.
Wow it's always a pleasure to see you host Angela, you are a great host... Beautiful standard too...
Beautiful guitar and Angela always makes them sound great!
Wow! Angela know@ her music! Love these songs she is playing...exceptionally wonderful guitar playing....doing what she loves. Great guitar!
Thank You Angela
A Stunning reissue, and Angela is sounding Great! The BEST THING
ABOUT THIS VIDEO...............NO
ADDS OR COMMERCIAL!!! 🎸💚
Hands down most beautiful guitar!!!
Sounding great Angela! Keep’ ‘‘em coming. 😀
I agree with you
great, as always
What a treat! My fav guest host.
Beauty of a guitar. Love that middle position...such a great sound. Thanks for sharing!
I have played one of these in a shop before same model same color and they are absolutely beautiful and they sound so good… Thanks Angela for demonstrating such a beautiful guitar… Love you dear!
Love this guitar,🎸🎸
Omg it's so clean and sounds so good! what a nice instrument
Glad to see something new and attainable!!
Beautiful playing Angela......🍁
Shout out for playing that last song!! One of my all time favorites!! 🔥🔥
Well done Angela! Love the flame!
Great job, Angela! Hope to see you again soon!
I like that song you played at the end... very cool!
Rock on Angela, a great demo of the 60s Les Paul Standard. Helpful and relevant styles for each pickup setting, sounded really good to an old rocker
Love Angela! Love that guitar! I've got one just like it in Ice Tea Burst!
I enjoyed this one lot's!!! Great sit in jam. 😊
yea I own a couple of 49's like that and they play great love the sound especially when im recording or playing a concert in Coachella
Awesome guitar and demo.
Good to see you at Norm’s! Thanks for the upload!
Gibson really got it right with both the 60's and 50's versions of this iconic guitar. I own a 50's and i love it. Mine is perfect. Cool selection of tunes to test drive that beauty.
Cool chick she play good stuff
Great playing and great tone...
Very tasteful playing! Good sounding too.
Stunning guitar and brilliantly played! Never owned a les Paul but this one is on my radar!
Cool, songs I have heard.
Does anyone remember when this channel was about rare vintage guitars?
Hell yea, Angela! It's been really cool having you on GOTD. I say that like I curate this or some shit...I digress. I love Lemmo and - AND - it's been awesome to have the change between the two of you. Thank you, guys! This channel is the bees knees.
I like your review!
When the bourbon burst hit my eye I glanced over to that bottle of old camp on my desk and it kinda smiled at me.
I've got one :D Nice to hear someone speaking highly of it, none of my friends aren't interested in new guitars.
Nice little jam
U rock girl 🎆🎸
Great job Angela, and video work the one and only Jen!!!! Whooooooo, Byeeeeeeeeee
Wish I could afford one.🎸🎸
LP style guitars are starting to grow on me. That ones nice and new looking.☝
Love her! And the guitar too.....3:22 So in love!!!
Yep. I have the 1960s reissue and it's a fantastic guitar. Always wary of buying a Gibson because of their decades long struggle with quality control, but mine turned out to be worth the price.
I’ve been eye bawling them here in Canada, the only ones left are unbursts , what do ya think ?
@@benallmark9671 I think your comment sucks 😝
Quality control was an issue at gibson in the past, but most guitars need fine tuning out of the factory. Find a good luthier and a gibson can be your best company.
@@QE2KC3ALJedi2AngelWindOGodRose you can or simply adjust it yourself ..super easy.
@@sixslinger9951 I can't solder pickups etc and I benefited by modifying my pre modern era (2013) gibson into what I felt a les paul should be, then there wasn't the modern choice as now in the agnesi era. A fret dress can liven up an lp is what I was trying to say. If you have the skills I am not arguing.
Angela... I enjoyed your set at Joe B’s Blues thon. 👍😎
Beautiful guitar. Beautiful & talented musician. Good job gals.
This girl rocks.....how about some Allman's
I have a LP Standard I bought in 1988 at Manny's in NYC...... it's a plain top burst....mint condition never play it...... I take it out and look at it every so often ......slim taper neck..... I have other guitar's I play on a regular basis..... I'm 70 and still playing.....going to leave it to my son as something to remember me by......
you should play it - i cherish the things my father left behind for me because he touched and used them : )
You’re awesome and remind me of myself, I’m 46 and hope I’m still alive at your age let online playing the guitar. I think you have at least a good 20 years left brother.
I turned my les paul into a proper monument to my poor Cat Tom that passed on. A great guitar for a great Cat. It keeps his memory alive every time I play it. A great heirloom for your son.
Oh Well👍
RO Right ? Beautiful axe Angela, great job .... thanks Jen !!
Not an R0, just a regular Gibson USA '60s Standard.
@@thejimmymeister Wow !!! Looks nicer than some RO's I have seen !!
A lovely lady at first … a great guitarist after all. Cheers!
I keep almost putting hot rodded zebras on mine, but that flash of chrome on the stock burst buckers, I can’t quit you 😂
Very beautiful, and the Les Paul too
Get a room...(or more likely a T Shirt...)
Dead Leaves 🍃
That Bankruptcy was the best thing to happen to Gibson, allowed JC and his management to clean house and get back to basics with the guitars. I've been wanting a no frills LP without any chambering or weight relief, great electronics, and a quality build. Good old meat and potatoes, so I got both standard 50s and 60s :)
Damn! She can play !! :o :D
I am driving three and a half hours to Sweetwater in Indiana to pay cash for a Gibson Les Paul this weekend.I want the 60s and this is the color I want, but I’ll play a bunch of them and then select.
I haven’t heard the first song in so long. Angela was slamming it. What a beautiful set from a Beautiful Lady!
angela is in lamo is out!
Fancy
I have recently purchased a Gibson LP Studio Plus, the Bourbon burst flame top is EXQUISITE IMHO !! And also purchased the EPIPHONE Smokehouse burst 60s LP as well, both look and feel and play fantastic, But i couldn't take it any longer without having some rendition of the LP Standard in my hands and collection. They are similar in design, but 2 completely different guitars. I keep both right in the living room for EZ access. Great video and starting off with the Oh Well tune followed by id rather go blind, how does it get any better?
Angela Petrilli, in a Zeppelin Shirt, playing a Les Paul? Am I dreaming?🙂
That was my first impression as well, yes.
Beautiful guitar, and her playing is actually incredible.
great you start with peter green
What were your playing between 2:40-3:20? I really liked that. I have the exact same guitar btw and I love it! Mine is a 2021 model.
Was the middle position lick Blue Ain’t a your Color?? Nice playing!
Holy crap she gives it some. Nice one
🥰
You have a nice touch. Your tone is special.
the 60 standard bourbon burst looks good ,is not only a flame like a photofinish with a famous Headstock , it´s decent neckprofile is cool and nice to play the guitar sounds like ya expect that such modell shouldt do , playable ,stays in tune and all in all ok if ya want one, they are no special runs 😁 ya can buy one they are avalible😷 ,ya can buy cheaper also much more exspensive Modells but this is a good Standard from Nashville👍 fin
Hey Ang, love you girl. I wish you the very best…..
Was that dead leaves on dirty ground?
Always makes me think of Gary Richrath when I see a genuine burst from that era. Beautiful guitar.
Jen what’s the nice weight? 9.5lb?
Fly
Does anyone know the name of the second song (at 2.38)? Thank you
Being from Kentucky, the next Les Paul that I buy should be in bourbon burst. Lol
I read a few angry comments about title being clickbait, it did mislead slightly and maybe norms assumed people already knew more about the specs on the 22 standard. When Angela said it was in good condition it confused me cos I thought if it was brand new off the shelf it would be mint, also it said USA on the case which modern cases don't. In the end I worked out it must be 2nd hand but this years model, that was best guess. Angela clarified it was a 22 in a reply, she hasn't replied to my reply yet. I am not sure if norms will reply...the Cat.
Why's the case black with white lining?
Is that one of the Murphy Labs or just a regular reissue?
Les Paul USA standard 60s. Not a custom shop.
And they'll even throw in a #2 pencil for the nut slots!
look like new guitar..
Whats the first song called?
Oh Well Fleetwood Mac Then Play On Peter Green Danny Kirwan
Nice!
First song Oh Well by Black Pistol Fire I think, the third Dead Leaves On Dirty Ground by White Stripes, don't know about the second!
Oh well was Fleetwood Mac
I thought the second song sounded like
I shall be released by Bob Dylan.
@@vincentbull Peter Greene Fleetwood Mac.
@@vincentbull Didnt know that it was a cover of them, thanks haha
The amps are not making the grade on GOTD. The sound has DEFINITELY changed. Can surely tell the difference.
I left a comment about gotd amps on lemmos last blonde 335 gotd, I did not think Angela had that bad a sound this time. I always assumed norm had bought in a bulk order of modern deluxe reverb's. The man has to put food on the table. Read my previous comment on lemmos gotd. It is a debate anyway.
@@QE2KC3ALJedi2AngelWindOGodRose yepp...I seem to recall Lemmo saying something about the amps being sold...agree have to put food in the table for sure.👍Can't fault nobody there. Hopefully Norm has some more of those old tube amps at his warehouse they could fo fetch for GOTD. ✌✅💯🎯
Still not open to the public?
So is Lemmo taking a step back from hosting? Just curious. Angela always does a fantastic job ✌🏼
What a herb
@@joeschmoe6720 what does that even mean? This is some boomer slang lol?
@@devins7810 What's boomer slang? Got something against boomers?
@@devins7810 You mean like "What's the fuzz daddy-o ? Dig this groovy bend"
@@joeschmoe6720 😂
Looks like a reissue, not the authentic 1960?
Yes because it is reissue.
I wish they would add the word "re-issue" to the title.
What was her name?
Oh Well, you didn't get the Led Out wearing that shirt
Hang on. Is this a 1960 Les Paul Standard ??? Or what ??
No , reissue of some kind
Do be serious…
Of course it isn't...
A new Gibson USA '60s Standard
Clearly it wasn’t a real 1960 - but you’d think they’d put the word Reissue or Custom Shop in the title no?
Sorry Angela
Angela, can I take you on a date? Dinner, and then Norms. 😍😀
Is she playing authentic?
Always worrys me a guitar that old ,that clean means no ones played it an you gotta wonder why
cos its a new guitar !!
Ah thatl be it then it was 5 am an id just woke up but Statement still stands for other 'as new' old guitars they have
@@mattdavies7809 LOL - They should have stated it was a re-issue - Bit cheeky !
That is the cleanest burst I have ever seen. Must not be made in 60'.
Looks like a reissue. Clickbait? What year is it really?
2022!
Gibson makes 50' and 60' style LPs now...I have both ....love them both.
@@sixslinger9951 I don't think you understood my post. Lol. I know what Gibson makes.
If it's not a modern Historic, it really is nothing like the Burst. But to each his own.
My post was about the clickbait. I thought a real burst was about to be demoed. I have no desire to watch a video on a standard.
@@sixslinger9951 How different are the necks really?
@@dougelmore9035 Noticeably. You couldn't mistake one for the other. The 50's neck is probably one of the fattest you'll find on a guitar these days.
3:00 the instrument lost tuning so quickly.
And a ‘Burst?’ 🤔. Well nice playing though!
I heard it too!?
Shore don't look like a 60 year old geetar. Smells new because it was prolly made a few months ago. I heered of "Click Bait", but proclaiming a brand new new geetar to be 60 years old is beyond "Click Bait". Is it an oafficial factory copy? I guess the hip term would be "re-issue" for the geetar fetishists.
Shame u didn't tune it first though!
